Please feel free to talk about anything Star Wars. From lego to comics, EU to Legends, Ewoks to the Holiday Special. Feel free to post any pics of your figure collections, or anything else SW you own.
It is such a wonderful, vast universe, so please be respectful of others opinions, even if
Please be mindful that some people are trying to go in dark to TLJ, so try and use your judgement about spoilers until the TLJ OT.
May the force be with you.

I think I read one or two volumes of that one and the Star Wars ones but there was a point where they crossed over and I missed something. Typical comic bullshit.

Yeah, that was the 2015 one. Now there is a new series that follows Vader just after the events of ROTS and his quest to make a lightsaber. 6 issues so far.
By Watershed Go To PostI look forward to discussing the eventually announced Yoda movie.
Really amazes me they haven't gone down that route already.
Would love a Yoda film of his early days.
I've been thinking about getting reading some of the new cannon stuff. What's worth reading, friends?

I hear Servants of the Empire, Bloodline and Thrawn are good. Probably more.

Part of me just wants to find a cannon timeline and work my way from beginning to end. Then the sane part of me realized that I am in grad school and don't have time to read what is most likely 98% trash, if the old EU is any barometer for quality in Star Wars material.
Revisiting some old SW stuff in my life to help my girlfriend edge into the world.
I halfway want to watch Clone Wars with her. Think she'd like Ashoka and Asajj

The problem for the old EU was they had huge series like The New Jedi Order. Which had nearly 20 books and so many authors who had deadlines of a few months, So there was no consistency from one book to another.
The best books were always the ones that were written by the same author over a single book or a trilogy.
I have started reading all the new books these last few weeks. Catching back up with all of them is going to take a while. Tarkin and Thrawn were both quite good.

I always found njo worth it... It was long and some books were better than others but it was always interesting and new to the star wars universe

Yeah, i enjoyed it(I never read any of the books because of the literary worth lol).
Was cool seeing a new original enemy.
I never got around the reading what the follow up series was.
Which of the canon comics would you folks recommend? Would mostly be interested in story between RotJ and TFA, I suppose. Or maybe some good Obi-wan material in case that movie project never happens.

This would be helpful too. Canon list on wiki threw me for a loop haha
For some reason, my favorite book in the old EU was The Courtship of Princess Leia.
I think it's probably a minority opinion but I loved that book so much. Not quite sure why though.

By Watershed Go To PostI look forward to discussing the eventually announced Yoda movie.Just watch the last few episodes of the Clone Wars. It's a nicely self contained mini movie about Yoda. Even has Liam Neeson in it.

Here is a list of all that is considered canon.
I think Aftermath is the big work set between Jedi and TFA.

Would there be any interest in a series rewatch leading up to the new film? Like the one that was planned before the nexus for hardcore gamers got got?
Yeah man, defo. Was gonna just do tfa but if i find time I'll rewatch, will defo attempt the OT at least
By spiderz Go To PostWould there be any interest in a series rewatch leading up to the new film? Like the one that was planned before the nexus for hardcore gamers got got?
Yep, I know there was a planned one on GAF.
There are seven weekends left till TLJ, so can do one film a week until then.
I'll be up for a series re-watch. Bought the Blu-ray package on release and never actually watched them.

Matt Stover, in general, was pretty great. His Revenge of the Sith novel was so good. I loved the intro for it.
This story happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.It is already over. Nothing can be done to change it.
It is a story of love and loss, brotherhood and betrayal, courage and sacrifice and the death of dreams. It is a story of the blurred line between our best and our worst.
It is the story of the end of an age.
A strange thing about stories—
Though this all happened so long ago and so far away that words cannot describe the time or the distance, it is also happening right now. Right here.
It is happening as you read these words.
This is how twenty-five millennia come to a close. Corruption and treachery have crushed a thousand years of peace. This is not just the end of a republic; night is falling on civilization itself.
This is the twilight of the Jedi.
The end starts now.
Call me simple, but that really got me into the book.
By spiderz Go To PostCan anyone lend credence to Lost Stars being good?I really liked it.
I fear when it's all said and done John Boyega will have been underutilised.
Also, TPM and ROTS were decent movies.
