I think I read something about problems with the music licensing.
By TheMikado Go To PostCan someone explain to me why none of the exclusives like Forza or Project Gotham Racing are backwards compatible on the Xbox One?In order to focus attention to Forza 7? Or possibly licensing, there is a reason Forza Horizon 1 is no longer available on BackCompat.

maybe it could be related to car licenses?
By Bluelote Go To Postthe 360 BC was not idealWhoa, trip down memory lane for me. I had completely forgotten I played KotOR on the 360 after I gorged on the launch titles. And I do remember there being some emulation issues, but I couldn't tell you what they are now.
This would explain why the announcements have been so light lately. Though I am not sure I will believe this until it happens :)
Most likely due to licensing issues.
Edit: beaten

Trying to make sense of the selection of games they seem like a cross section of unusual or underserved genres on the XB1 and cult classics that people generally loved. We have Forza 7 and Forza Horizon 3 right now, so my made up theory for why they chose these games is that there isn't a lot like them coming out these days.
I'm sure they'll get PGR on there sooner rather than later though with the status of Bizarre creations and them having a heavily licensed soundtrack that could be problematic.

Big one for me was audio cutting off at random.
It's nice that everything up there is about $10.
We should expect all of the Xbox Originals sold digitally on the 360 to be back compat soon.

Really cool to see this. I wish Sony would work this hard on providing BC for their titles.
Has Microsoft given any indication of this, along with 360 BC, coming ro PC? With their recent “Play-Anywhere” push, it seems like BC is literally the only thing that’s still on Xbox only. I ask because since MS games have been coming to PC, my Xbox One has been gathering dust and I’d rather just play the games on PC (though if Jet Set Radio Future ends up becoming BC I’m dusting off the Xbox for that). Also, it’s my dream that console manifacters would just provide official emulators on PC for their “legacy” platforms.

Just bought KOTOR and Ninja Gaiden Black from the Xbox website. Can't wait for it to pop up in my ready to install list tomorrow. Here are the links for anyone interested. You can also search for whatever game in the search box.

Bought KOTOR. One of my favourite games, I don't know how many times I've bought it now but I can't find my Xbox disc, so bought it yet again, digitally.
Would like to see how the look on a bog standard Xbox One.
Are they going to be widescreen?
I know it says up to 4 times the pixels.

yes, definitely jumping on that KOTOR wagon......can't wait to finally finish it
Most original xbox games had widescreen support and some even supported 720p at the time. It was a pretty damn powerful console.

Still depends on if the game supported widescreen I think
How good Kotor looks got me needing 1080p Republic Commando and MechAssault.
They'll never get it because of the music licensing, but Burnout 3 would look great with these enhancements, too.

This works like other BC titles where you just stick the disc in and it downloads the file from the internet right?
I shall throw in Kotor and find out

I got around to unboxing my original Xbox games last night (and my 360 games); I had stored them away while I was trying to sell my house. I had totally forgot about this, but my copy of Ninja Gaiden Black is still sealed! My college house had been robbed around the time Black came out (or thereafter), so I wound up getting a new replacement when I went through insurance. I'm thinking of keeping it sealed, for no other reason than I'd hate to break it open.
Damn, I can't wait to play Ninja Gaiden again! I can still hear the city music in my head. And I am wholly prepared to get whooped all over again by the game; the Flying Sparrow move got nerfed to high heaven in Black, right?

I'd imagine it's due to needing to licence the cars again and the music in them. With car manufacturers like Porsche and a few others not really liking their cars in games, it's probably a headache for them to attempt it.
I just need the four games that brought me to Xbox to begin with as BC. Shenmue 2, JSRF, GunValkyrie and Panzer Dragoon Orta as BC. For 360 Tales of Vesperia and KOF 13 and i'd be good.
I booted up Crimson Skies. I haven't seen the original Xbox boot up animation in so long. The nostalgia is too strong.
Very tempted to grab KOTOR. Never got very far in it (blasphemy, I know) and playing on a mobile device isn't really doing it for me.
I still think Sands of Time is one of the best games from that generation. Still as fun as I remember it
Sands of Time is a beautiful masterpiece of a game. After the Mario fever goes down I'll be digging into Sands, Kotor, and Ninja Gaiden!
By jet1911 Go To PostI hope the games won’t cost too much digitally.Someone can correct me if I’m wrong on this but I believe $9.99 is the price. It’s the original game in 1080p, with clearer textures, better coloring and better lighting. The difference is night and day. Xbox has a KOTOR comparison on their YouTube channel.

Oh nice!
I don't suppose anybody's taken any direct feed screenshots of NGB yet?
I haven't played NG in years, quite curious how it looks with a good upres.
