They plan to maintain some form of restricted registration and are trying to figure out how to migrate existing members.
They're taking suggestions to find out what worked and what didn't work about neogaf to carry that into the product. They dont want to inherit the problems of their predecessor. There is a much greater emphasis on transparency.
I dont know who is leading this, though.

Like 3 or 4 weeks ago I checked to discovered my account have been approved in early 2016. I had only started to post recently. I was "Chie Satonaka91" on GAF, same avatar. This sights layout will take some getting used to, but it's well made. Already starting to look like GAF a bit with all the OTs.

For what it's worth I agree. The best thing gaf did was structure the forum the way it did.

I've been lurking on GAF since 2005 and I am really sad to see it go. It was the main place where I got my news, and I am not sure what I am going to do to remedy that now. I don't like reddit and forums seems to be a dying breed now. This place looks cool though and it's good to see a lot of Gafers here.

Really annoying thing is all the online gloating from the KiA idiots thinking it was their victory. Really I have to hand it to the mod team for quitting like that and not putting up with that shit.
There seems to be a number of different places that the gaf exodus is leading to but this place seems cool because of the rules against bigotry that have been posted in this thread and on the rules page. Gaf had it's issues but at least it was one of the only gaming spaces not totally taken over by alt-right bullshit like the rest of the gaming cicles on the net.
