It's hard ranking the metal gear games because the later ones really shit the bed in terms of story and go all in on the misogyny, even though the gameplay is very good. I'd say purely from a gameplay perspective, 5>4>2>PW>3>1. For some reason 3 never really gelled with me. I preferred the tight corridors of 2, I think they fit the controls better.

PW was just awful. Still haven't played GZ or TPP, but I'm kinda lukewarm on them anyway. Mostly lost interest in the series when Solid Snake's story was done.
