I have been a GAF member from 2/11/2005, according to my profile there. I lurked there since it was a part of Gaming-Age, and I continued to mostly lurk. I'm always long-winded, and don't get many responses when I post. I also didn't create many threads, since they almost never got more than 20-30 replies. Anytime I'd want to reply to someone, I start writing a long post, and then the thread went to a new topic, and I felt my moment to reply was lost, so I'd delete the reply. I don't mean to throw a pity party for myself, just trying to say that I mostly lurked than posted.
But it seems that most of the posters that I remembered and respected are here currently. I guess I'll check out ResetERA once it's up, and Waypoint seems kinda cool, though not nearly as chill as here. I used to be a part of a few different message boards before NeoGAF became my main home, so I guess I can go back to multiple message boards again, even if only temporarily.
I'm glad you guys all are stand-up people who won't tolerate such a toxic environment, simply for the sake of trying to maintain some sense of normalcy, that is obviously gone. How can any woman feel safe or welcome in that place? It's obvious that Evilore can't practice what he purported to preach. And those left there have no problem ignoring his behavior, so they probably don't respect women much themselves. Such a shame, as their was such a great community there, even though his problems and the modding issues. I always had 5-10 tabs open with different threads, mostly from OT, as Gaming side was too Console-warrior ish and not nearly as progressive on a myriad of topics. God forbid you wanted to talk about representation in gaming!
Anyway, thanks to the guys running this site for being so chill and inviting. I can very easily see myself making a new home here, and maybe posting more than on NeoGAF.

I was also ISee on NeoGaf, not that somebody really remembers me, so whatever. Does this mean we will need "trusted" email accounts again to register for ResetEra? Because I don't have access to my old email account registered to neogaf anymore or to a new "not-free" one. Means I'm out, I guess.

No idea about details cuz I'm not involved in that community, but couldn't hurt for you to try and reach out to some of them.
I guess some here find it weak or disgusting, but for now I'm not going to burn any bridges. The entire situation has been handled incredibly poorly, Tyler's statement has been anything but great either, however if by some miracle the community manages to pick up the pieces, heal and improve then I'm not opposed to visiting and posting on GAF. I never cared for Tyler's attitude, and my views of him have certainly not become more favorable. In the end I was there for the news/content and the amazingly helpful and kind people that made that community what it was. If that part of it lives on, then it still retains value. If it's lost then I hope a healthy and better alternative grows from its ashes. In the mean time I will look around and try to maintain a presence in other communities. Slaent looks like a good one thus far. Hopefully it will flourish.
