Can anyone screencap the cool stuff like the old mod stories out of discord? I don't blame them for not wanting to toss out random invites at this point. They'd get thousands of requests. Still looking for basically any level of comfort possible it seems. If reset is actually asking for pictures of you getting banned, however, that's really really not how you start a community. It speaks volumes on how mature the GAF refugee population is based solely on how relatively little moderation this thread has needed (and I'm extremely sorry if a lot goes on behind the scenes and is deleted). There's no need to try to discriminate out people who seem predisposed toward making forums better by merely being there.

Do hope communities take root here, though. The level of immediate inclusionism is awesome! Many will be weary of any GAF offshoot from the same mod team.

So NeoGAF OT is dead. I've been active on that community since 2006 so it sucks to leave it. I was a lurker that rarely got involved in the discussion but I enjoyed reading people's opinions and I liked the back and forth between the different sides, as long as it was kept civil.

But this place looks like a good substitute. Maybe it'll take over all my NeoGAF time soon.

yeah, prominent has different connotations depending on where you hung mostly. OT was my bread and butter. Gaming side was okay but often head in the sand people were overwhelming.

Developers are gonna run away from gaf en masse if they haven't already. It's too toxic a place to be posting, especially at a time when all eyes (especially conscientious games journalists) are watching to see what becomes of gaf. There is literally no post a developer could make on gaf right now that would go down well besides asking for a ban.
