Most likely, they're approving old banned users and a lot of of them are coming back. And thousands of accounts are probably from members who haven't posted in weeks, months or years and aren't even aware of what happened. Half of the threads on the site were from the Off Topic. As the weeks progress and members find out what happened, the site will suffer even more.
