It's nice to see some of the longtime Gaf names here...and if NeoGaf actually comes back up, it is tempting to go back because of the long established communities, but having some of the old crew move to here, Waypoint, and wherever else, I think we should just stick here...of course, everyone can do what they want. But I don't think I can personally deal with the inconsistency in both conscience and logic with going back to Gaf with such an owner, and being in a supposed "progressive" community. I also am a bit weary about joining ResetERA, simply because of the same moderation that will work there (if true). I guess we will see soon enough.

There's a site feature thread. It was a small community until GAF imploded. Things are being worked on.

SLAENT is a work in progress and is constantly being updated. Reilo has been the one doing all the work, Kibner as been helping him recently.
Go here for suggestions for the site. Reilo is also looking for people to help with the development, if anyone is interested.

It's 'online' but still down. It seems like while the actual web page is online, the back end is not.
All these forums are going to hate the GAF diaspora until a home is really found. I don't think the Waypoint forums will be too happy because the forum style was not GAF and former GAFers are going to try to make it GAF intentionally otherwise. This forum will be fine because it's very similar in style and also has some nice additional features. You guys did some good work here.
For those who are just showing up, SLAENT started a few years ago. The founders/mods/admins here are previous members of GAF. The development is being run by pretty much one person at the moment. Some of the features you're asking for (subscribed threads, separate subforum for gaming, etc.) are being worked on as we speak. The GAF implosion hit everybody suddenly so all of us are trying to pick up the slack. Please be patient. If you have suggestions please make them as we've always been very open and transparent with where this forum can go. We have a lot of ideas and goals moving forward.
