I actually don't think the vast majority care about the leadership team/ drama/ politics of it all and just want a fast moving forum where they can find stuff out/ that has a archive so long they can research stuff from years ago - despite EL perhaps not following his own rules - the rules laid out there do make it a good overall community
If neogaf came back up I doubt it would lose as many people as people think - I also doubt it would turn towards being a alt right haven - it certainly has been damaged and that's a shame but I would hope EL stands down/ steps away from it and let's it continue to grow in the direction it was before all this came to light
I guess I hope it comes back as I certainly would hate to lose the vast swathes of information that historically exists across SO many different subjects
Don't get me wrong - I would love this place to continue to grow and improve - and I would love to see what the old gaf mods can spin up but I do think gaf is pretty deep rooted

Yeah, I just don't see 99% of people leaving (which is what it would really take to kill it) if the site magically popped back up and was competently moderated. People are creatures of habit.
I think at least 10-20% probably either haven't heard of the incident or couldn't care less about the ownership.

True, it would be nice if folks just created/recreated threads and content at a site like Sl&ent and the community could rebuild with a team that's interested in letting a community develop itself while assisting with the website/forum mechanics. It's not like GAF had such a massive list of features or moderators that it can't be replicated or continued elsewhere. I had been on the wrong side of GAF moderation a number of times, all of the infringements seemed petty to me. As did the sign up process over the years.

I don't think Evilore offer a full apology...he'll skirt around it and state that they had a consensual relationship (which his accuser admitted to Kotaku...and I found that really fucking weird btw) and therefore he didn't think he did anything wrong, etc.
