I just skipped some topics/posts entirely, if I wasn't interested.
Wish more people did that, because the worst point about it were people coming into a certain games topic shitting it up and vice versa with topics about inclusion/politics, were people showed up and said they're not interested. Not like either of the two lead to any good discussion and people thought their opinion was "important".
It wasn't in plenty of cases and just shifted the focus unecessary.

No. Why? Keep talking about it, if something makes you uncomfortable engage on why it does. Most people don't know how to convey in any way why certain things like representation or how politics play a role in games. People don't understand that people can have a passion for a medium and still understand the social fuck-ups the industry has. Do better, it's not that hard, and it doesn't cost you anything whatsoever.
