I'd love to have Doncic replace JJ (or be what FUltz was supposed to be before the he started to do BMX tricks)
I know absolutely nothing about anyone upcoming in the draft. But after listening to some podcasts and reading some stuff, I think I'll be happy if the Mavs end up with Bagley, Jaren Jackson Jr., or Bamba.
The dude who messed up his back is still projected top 7ish and I think that's kinda crazy, unless the back is 100% good...

By blackace Go To PostReading that Stotts might get the boot and the Magic want him… also not only do the Suns want to look at Kidd and Vinny but the really are eying Kevin McHaleOlshey needs to go before Stotts. People been talkin' shit about Lillard too but it's nobody's fault but Olshey that Turner was given that massive contract and for what? Or when he let the team explode in 2015. Honestly, I know this is hindsight and all that, they should have just called LMA's bluff and let him run off earlier.
That was their entire gameplan lmao. Gentry flat out stated so, and it was clear watching the games.
That Aldridge draft is a cautionary tale for all the people who spend all season freaking out about tanking and getting mad if their team wins a game.
So many names lost to the mists of time.

ayton is so bad at defense (his block numbers are horrendous for a center with his athleticism) that i can't justify taking him ahead of doncic. jackson is a more justifiable pick above him.
By s y 2.0 Go To PostOs it Oshley's fault that Lillard is trash in the playoffs? It's definitely his fault Blazers keep having meh and or overpaid front courts.
By Random Ass Username Go To PostIt's definitely his fault Blazers keep having meh and or overpaid front courts.Aminu + Nurkic is pretty good, no? Better than most of the league.
Aminu is best suited to be a backup PF. He'd be a great compliment if our wing position was say, Paul George or Jimmy Butler playing SF, but it's Moe and Evan. Neither of whom should be starters. Nurkic is great but against certain matchups (stretch bigs that can hit the 3, exactly what Mirotic was), he becomes less valuable because his skillset is on the pick and roll and elite interior defense. If he's being forced out of the paint on defense to guard a big on the perimeter, then that's a problem for Portland. It's why you saw Nurkic eventually guard AD who is mostly a paint player.
Aminu was damn good in these playoffs (probably played the best ball you could hope from him) but Anthony Davis still outplayed him by a factor of 2:1.

bro. he got jeremy lin'd. nothing complex about it. he got pushed out of his spots high and he's too shit of a passer to do anything before he gets to the rim. discount deron status

By diehard Go To PostThere is a pretty strong belief that block % and steal % are good indicators of how well defense will translate.. To if they're good at defense immediately. Ayton hasn't been going 85% the whole year and is still putting up huge numbers and dominating.
There's also the part where taking guys very high in the draft of athletic talent alone is really dumb. That high you should be going on already being supther athletic, but also being skilled. Because there is a long history of talent, not translating to basketball skill (Marquesse Chriss). Particularly offensive skill. Because for a big, the difference between college and NBA defenses are going to be so huge they're going to basically be starting all over again anyway.
Ayton is super athletic and has a lot of skill, and is 7ft. Talking your self out of him because of low block numbers in college is really dumb.
im convinced no underclassmen, lotto projected bigs try on defense at all in college. and the ones that have defense as their calling card? fake news

it has gotten quite hard to tell as many of the one and dones simply don't give a fuck during their time in college. Ben gave no fucks and people thought he'd be a poor defender because of it. Not to mention all of teh zone being run nowadays
By Random Ass Username Go To PostWhether or not Lillard didn't bring it hard enough, Olshey still blows.Enh, he's brought in playoff revenue 8 of his 10 years. There are a whole lot of owners who would love that kind of consistency. It's just that 6 of those 8 have been first round KOs.

Lillard absolutely was hard doubled and trapped frequently above the 3pt line in the Pels series. CJ, too. The Pels would just let literally everyone else on the roster do whatever they wanted on the perimeter to make sure McCollum and Damian wouldn't get any clean looks or driving lanes.
Guys saw passing lanes for 3PA, and if it was anyone but those two players available, the Pels would just straight up ignore it.
