The Knicks have wrecked the careers of everybody who've coached for them in the 21st century. Of the 11 guys who've coached for them in the last 17 years, D'Antoni & Larry Brown are the only ones who were ever heard from again. It takes hall of fame credentials to escape that vortex. (And the Knicks fired Larry Brown after one season even though he was coming off a championship with Detroit and two straight finals appearances).
By s y Go To PostKerr told the Knicks to fuck off…The fact that they were even in the conversation with the Warriors at that time just proves my point.
I don't even think they want Stack though. It's Blatts job.

They all rich as fuck though. And all they had to do is get berated by fans and the media for a couple years. Plus if you get on Dolans good side you're set for life. Zeke is still getting a check.

only Roy Williams has done it and lived to tell about it.
rashad mccants thought he was bigger than us and now he's taking jumpshots for ice cube in the big 3 while a dude who's name is 'basketball hitler' is on his third and fourth chance in the league
By Red Blaster Go To Postim legit wondering if elfrid payton gets an offer above the minimum this summer
Legit don't wonder. He will. His numbers in Orlando were decent. Wasn't quite as good in Phoenix, but that should surprise nobody, given the circumstances.

whoever signs him should have a clause requiring him to do something about his hair. Doesn't have to cut it but it cannot be out there blocking shots and shit

I don't normally give a fuck about a guys hair. But Payton is literally saying to everyone "I hate basketball. I hate it so much, i care MORE about my hair. I'm literally only here to fool you dumb fuckers into paying me millions a year to exist. And you're getting my bare minimum at that".
Guy can go open a hair studio in shanghai for all i fucking care.
By blackace Go To Postlol at Knicks fans thinking that Dolan money will get them a good coach…Yeah, NYK aren't a coaches destination and haven't been for a while.
People strutting here, but forgetting that several / many coaches have turned down interviews with NYK even.
I mean, Masud's right. Guys looking for a singular large pay day for 2 -3 years, then happy to go back to living that assistant coach life are lining up for a free $15m.
By blackace Go To Postlol at Knicks fans thinking that Dolan money will get them a good coach…I didnt say it would get them a good coach, I said it would get them whatever coach they want, they could want Mark Jackson for all I know.
The Knicks have always been a destination for big name coaches. Outside of pjaxs hires we haven't hired a non celebrity coach in like 20 years. And even when Pjax hired Fisher and Hornacek he could have had almost any coach he wanted, Vogel and Blatt would tell you that themselves. Kerr is the only coach I can think of recently to turn down the Knicks, and again the fact that the Knicks were even in that conversation with the Warriors (pre KP) just proves my point.
Say what you want about the Knicks but it's still New York, you turn that franchise around and you're a god (and if you don't you can cry yourself to sleep on your mountains of cash).

By livefromkyoto Go To PostThe Westchester Knicks are a team. The Westchester Knicks are one of the best teams in the g league, they might not have a spot for him...
By blackace Go To PostThought Shaw turned down an interview as well…Knicks interest in Shaw was made up by the media. Pjax didn't want to compensate Nuggets for Shaw, if he wanted him at all.
Also something to consider with Kerr and Walton is Pjaxs presence, as much as people like to praise his coaching people don't really like to work with him. That was an abnormaly shitty situation even by Knicks standards.

I really dunno what you're on about Masud. Knicks have been turned down a lot over the last 4 - 5 years.
Guys straight up don't want that on their record, because they have NFI what they're actually signing on for. All the back ground fuckery.
I mean, y'all are talking about re-hiring b-grade coaches. Or signing d-league coaches. Or b-tier college coaches.

I should say, it's not that they offered guys jobs, and got knocked back like Kerr.

Multiple sources is saying that the Knicks job might be the only job Jackson can get. Mark might have to settle for that Dolan money.
poor Mark.
maybe he grew up and won't be an asshole this time around. that's about the only argument in his favor i can have for hiring him.

By livefromkyoto Go To PostLol @ Whitlock running the James Dolan defence force. To be fair all Whitlock did was list Dolans few positives, he is absurdly loyal, he is willing to spend money, and he is willing to hire black people into top positions (he's in a fucking blues band, he wants to be down so bad). As much of a troll that Whitlock is he's right about this being the right move for Jackson. I'm positive Mark could go in there, jive talk his way into Dolans heart and cash out for the rest of his life no matter how many stippers extort him or how many franchise players he tries to faith heal.
Also, Cowherd looks like a Thunderbirds puppet.
That's why this shit is so terrifying. But if Dolan is to believed and he's staying out of the basketball decisions then there's no way Jackson gets the job. I think it will be Fizdale if Perry gets the final say or Blatt if Mills does (Mills was trying to hire Blatt the last time but Pjax overruled him).
