By DY_nasty Go To Posti wouldn't give up that pick, but fultz/covington for lowry is about as good as you're gonna get in a sell high senseNaw. It's a pretty bad deal.
lowry might be shook as fuck but derozan is worse, and at least you've still got embiid to fall back on. any shooter that isn't reddick or beli would help immediately
Philly don't need more regular season wins. They got that covered.
they honestly don't lol... if they didn't get ridiculously hot to end the year, the last year of the real tank wars i gotta add, then i can't say that they'll really be significantly better next year
of course they've got free agency to look forward to and all that. but they rode playoffs on a healthy embiid (who's gonna bet on that twice?), beli going off, and front running. they're gonna need a real pg to get some actual stability on that team sooner rather than later

By HasphatsAnts Go To PostSo we pass on him to take another front court player who doesn't fit with our current front court player?Luka looked pretty bad in the final game... he was bad against tall, athletic players... Guess what the NBA is?
If we take Bagley while Doncic is still on the board that just means our decision making process is completely busted.
Not to say he can't overcome that and be good but when scouts see he struggles against length and athletic players I wouldn't call the decision making process busted

You can't comment about the health of Embiid while Skipping over it with Lowry. Who IS old.
Like. If they got Lowry for scraps. Yeah. Bring him on. Good shooter, ok defender. Veteran. etc.
But guy has mental demons in the play offs. He's under sized. has 25,000 minutes logged.
They're better off developing Simmons and the rest of their schemes than investing in Lowry stocks.
Like, if you're cashing in assets to bring in a point guard, / second play maker. Go for CJ McCullum or Lillard. Not Lowry.
And yeah the win streak helped bring up their win total. But that streak came with out Embiid. They can win in the regular season. I'm not dismissing how much easier that would be with another all star on the roster. Particularly a play maker and shooter , and in the play offs, one who isn't a defensive liability.
the one thing about Lowry is he is a good defender...I don't if I'd make the move but I don't think he is a bad fit for a year or two
By blackace Go To Postthe one thing about Lowry is he is a good defender…I don't if I'd make the move but I don't think he is a bad fit for a year or twoI think that's the biggest problem. Is that it's a fit for 2 years max.
lowry makes 31M next year, 33 year after.
I'd rather be paying McCullum 82M over the next 3 years.
Either move is going to put a serious dent in cap space. But if done right (lol colangelo) could still leave room to either re-sign current guys, or go after LBJ or someone.
By DY_nasty Go To PostSimmons ain't a PG is the issueHe's whatever you call a guy that needs to have the ball to be effective.
Nobody knows what Mitchell will be either. Positionless basketball yall.
By DY_nasty Go To PostSimmons ain't a PG is the issueSimmons without the ball is useless tho
By livefromkyoto Go To PostUh…so is Fultz ever going to remember how to play basketball, or are those memories forever sealed away by the Kryptonian amnesium Simmons spiked his drink with that one time to lock up the ROTY vote?
Because if this is showing up in a Philly commuter daily, it’s totally Colangelo putting out feelers to the fanbase:
https://www.metro.us/sports/philadelphia/nba-trade-rumors-kyle-lowry-sixers-raptors-move-coming
This doesn’t sound like the kind of thing Masai/MLSE would do because they like that 2nd round playoff revenue every year and why take a step back, but Lowry is probably complaining behind the scenes because he’s been doing that since he was 3.
This 100% sounds like something Colangelo would do.
Thats the dumbest trade I seen
By blackace Go To PostAlso not sure how this Kawhi super max is going to work outWe've seen it time and time again. Kawhi will be a Spur for life. The real question is how they get enough talent around Kawhi and LMA to make real progress.
By giririsss Go To PostEh, Simmons is a PG. He was a rookie PG. But still a PG. Much like LBJ always has been.LBJ could run an offense
Simmons idea of half court offense is standing at 18 feet and letting two shooters run around him in circles
By blackace Go To PostSimmons without the ball is useless thohe ain't useless... he just hasn't had to do anything except get his stats up, ever, so why try?
he's never been held accountable until now imo
By DY_nasty Go To PostLBJ could run an offenseLBJ couldn't run an offense very well his first few years... shit he was almost in Miami by the time he learned how to use a screen...

He's a PG. He's just a rookie. I can't actually think of the last PG that came in and didn't have holes in their game.

Forgetting the Lowry thing entirely for a moment, what do you think Fultz’s value is right now around the league? Why is Portland giving up McCollum for him?
As for Lebron...Colangelo does half his offseason work wining & dining in February and March. I guarantee he’s got a general temperature on whether Philly was going to be on Lebron or PG’s shortlist if things didn’t work out where they are by now. If they’re exploring other options it’s because they know already.

Probably more than Toronto. They've been getting swept out of the playoffs in the first round 2 years in a row. Atleast Toronto are making a habbit of getting out of the first round.

By Nelo Ice Go To PostRodeo to be suicide watch if Thibs does this.It mostly just washes over me. Thibs is totally unfit for his position, but until Taylor fires him, what are you gonna do.
Would it surprise me if Taylor would side with the coach over the player? Not really. He's cheap. The most Wolves thing is always the worse case, minus the times Flip Saunders was associated with the team.
someone told me to look at miles bridges the way i looked at derrick williams and now my mind is a shell

That piece seemed to swing really oddly at the end with rankings... Mikal Bridges less versatile defensively than Miles?
People keep running with this Young to the Knicks shit. Perry has said he wants to get longer and more athletic does that sound like Young? And Perry just finished an exhaustive coaching search where they interviewed damn near everyone and was pretty tight lipped about it. The notion that Perry has not only decided on a player before doing private workouts but has also leaked this info to the media is silly. Oh Young with CAA too? Fake news.

the guys we have on our board ahead of doncic are not going to be better than what that pick might be able to fetch. Whoever we pick will be the wrong choice anyway so why even.
Al horford remains a genuine fluke.
By Red Blaster Go To PostHonest to God I had to google who John Collins was.
og didn't make it but dennis smith and trash jackson did lmao
Lonzo Ball. Really?
In a general no shit sherlock way but still...this draft is going to be one in which a GM has to actually be good at his job and not just go with consensus as all of these guys have flaws that could end them...more than normal I think.
Ayton has all the tools, probably didn't give a fuck so his effort on defense was low but still you can't ignore the fact that he played worse defense than Jah...thats bad. Luka is slow as fuck, and as a ballhandler that's rough. I think his shot is going to be super important to how good he can be.
After those two...holy shit. Bagley's defense is worse than Ayton and he might be a tweener (Super Thomas Robinson yo). JJJ is a Basketball Twitter dream but dudes stats are trash. Bomba is a Jay Bilas dream but do you tank for Super Nerlins Noel? MPJ's back is fucked...back injuries don't go away yall. Trae Young is tiny and will be free lunch on defense. Sexton is also tiny, he also isn't as fast as Fox who struggled himself this year. SGA could be a darker MCW.....whoopee. Mikal is a skeleton and was a role player all of his life. Miles got worse somehow and may just be a guy at the end of the day. Same goes for Robert Williams.
Honestly, guys projected to go around 18 on are more exciting to me this year. This is more than likely the fact that no stars are sitting at 10 for us the steal and make up for Fultz' demise but still...I am super shook right now.
