TLC used to dunk on dudes in traffic.
Came over here and gets snuffed at the rim on the regular.
i think we all take for granted how high of a level the NBA really is.

He was guarded by Thanasis Antetokoumpo last round and was pretty bothered by it.
Not so much this game even though I think both Thanasis and Will Clyburn have NBA caliber length and athleticism.

That's what throws me looking at euro highlights. It's still so far off the nba

Thats the thing that might scare me of Doncic. This dude isn't out here going to McDonalds every day, barely caring about defense because lol college or being held back by his coach so he can run his system.
By giririsss Go To PostOdd, i remember photos / videos of DMC celebrating with the team. Definitely of the regular season games at the end when they qualify for the play offs.Yeah, he was at a home playoff game, too. I think it is just one of those sports things where the guys were so focused on the playoff run and the actual playoffs that they didn't spend much time on anything else. And since Cousins was in Cali for his rehab, they never really saw him.
I'm now watching stuff to sell myself on MPJ. I'm not sure if I can deal with another tank team and high pick lol
After watching a single quarter of the WNBA, I think the schemes and skills are higher than men's NCAA. Height and athleticism obviously not, but hey. It's still some well-executed basketball.

So the Suns say they are open to trading the first pick... if Minny offers KAT for Ayton do the Suns take it?
By blackace Go To PostSo the Suns say they are open to trading the first pick… if Minny offers KAT for Ayton do the Suns take it?I think everyone says they're open to trading the first pick. Have for years. Just whether you get the package you want.
Feel like trading KAT for anything but another star big would be putting their franchise back to ... ground zero basically. They'd be resetting / going into rebuild mode. It just won't happen unless you give them a Nets style package.
Here's another interesting one, the #1 for Kawahi?
But i'd probably be more interested in seeing them give away this years miami, next years milwaukee, and the year after, PHX's own pick for the 2nd overall pick. Take Ayton / Doncic. And you've got a big (Ayton) surrounded by a bunch of 6'6" + guys. (Booker, Doncic, Jackson, Warren).
Don't think there's enough in that package for the #2. But ... who knows.
It's also weird to me that everyone on The Ringer is so certain Doncic is better than Ayton. Just don't see it.
With Ayton its all about if he wants it.
It tough to tell if his lack of fire is just lol college or just being naturally gifted enough to make the league. Him being one of those bigs who desperately doesn't want to play PF and basically be a giant guard is scary. I can't see him being bad but you wonder if he is going to be great or not...which is kinda what you want out of the 1st pick no?
Basically it goes back to the Andrew Wiggins conundrum....does he even like basketball?

Didnt Ben Simmons have the same flaw?
By Kuma Go To PostDidnt Ben Simmons have the same flaw?Simmons went hard to start the season. His teammates killed the passion any of them had for playing.
By knux-future Go To PostWith Ayton its all about if he wants it.You could write KAT instead of Ayton and it would have the same meaning

Speaking of The Ringer, Bill Simmons is out here lighting fires:
I mean, you could do worse.
Bill Simmons "Is Rick Carlisle leaving the Mavs? I've heard whispers"
Jonathon Tjarks "I mean it's weird because they're going to be bad for a long time. He's happy now. He likes having control…"
Bill Simmons "He's not happy."
Jonathon Tjarks "I think he likes his kids being in Dallas…"
Bill Simmons "No that's overrated. Turns out your kids can live anywhere. Guess what every city has? Schools and restaurants. It's fine. You know what his kids would like? Toronto."
I mean, you could do worse.
By DY_nasty Go To Postremember when ny found out frank couldn't dribble lmaoFuck you Frank can dribble.
He just has to write some algorithms and plan out a path so he can dribble without hesitation. Throw in some IF AND statements and shit... you should see his crossover when he adds in a SWITCH statement.
By pkaz01 Go To PostThe Ringer has been pretty terrible this season, like a mix of ESPN and buzzfeedVery. I basically don't check the site for anything anymore. And the pods suck aside from Bill's and Larry Wilmore's
probably a bad sign when jah okafor was a better defender than you in college
also more wendell carter hype
does anyone think that bagley is a worse defender than jokafor?
there's also a real difference between refusing to play defense and looking like a buffoon on the court like jah
there's also a real difference between refusing to play defense and looking like a buffoon on the court like jah
Jah is so light on his feet for a dude his size. He floats around on offense like its nothing but then on defense it looks like gravity has been turned up or some shit. Still don't get it.
By knux-future Go To PostWith Ayton its all about if he wants it.I think i'ts hard to argue that Ayton doesn't like basketball / isn't interested in the game, because he's bringing skills that you don't just develop during a game. Like shooting. Guy legitimately has range and shots it well. That's something you need to practice a lot.

Like i get it, everyone was all "oh his defense was bad". But it's scarier when you're drafting a big who only has defense.
By DY_nasty Go To Postwiggins was indifferent about basketball since his junior year in high school lolAnd simmons about the whole draft / college process.
I admit to being one of the people hanging shit on simmons attitude. But that was more that he managed to piss of the AU national team.
i think ayton likes basketball, I just sense a lot of Cousins in him. But having a guy like Booker is one kind of core player that Cousins was never able to play alongside.
i don't think simmons acted any different than LBJ would've had he been forced to play a year of college ball and picked a school that gave him the biggest bag/complimentary roster and offense combo
wiggins reminds me of trash hyped up boxers, but you don't get knocked out in the NBA for never elevating your game - you just keep tricking more people in paying you

Looking back, and hindsight is great, Simmons was probably just bored as fuck with the NCAA game.

Hard to argue that Doncic shouldn't be near the top of everyones list for sure.
Simmons got tired of teammates that deserved to be punched in the face for being selfish, bad, and dick-heads.
