jjj's slow release + his fouling/turning the ball over has a lot of people underrating him as some unwieldy stiff. he's already showcased a ability to put the ball on the floor and attack from the perimeter. his game is a lot closer to anthony davis than people realize.
then again these post-lotto mocks coming out of espn are stupid as shit. sexton going 9 is terrible and lonnie walker isn't a lottery pick.

Boston had a slim chance to move up to no. 2 or no. 3 and steal the Sixers pick (via the Markelle Fultz trade) this year. Though that didn’t happen, Boston gets the next-best thing: next year’s Kings top-one-protected first-rounder.Wait, Sacramento traded a pick that only has top-1 protection on it? The Kings?
By rodeoclown Go To PostWait, Sacramento traded a pick that only has top-1 protection on it? The Kings?Sorta. It had greater protection than that originally, but as the years went by and it still didn't transfer, the protections got weaker and weaker.

Knicks have arguably 3 PGs and are going to build around 1 or 2 of them, so they're gonna take an even shorter PG?

By Red Blaster Go To Postlet's see what renowned nba commentator chris palmer thinks about the draftAnyone tell him we didnt end up with the 4th pick?
what
By jjasper Go To PostI don’t really get why he isn’t getting hyped up. He is the youngest (I think) player that is able to switch on defense which is almost a requirement in the NBA now and shot 40% from 3. Am I missing something?
3-D is @ a premium. At very least you know he won't bust. Being young means he has up side. Safest pick in the draft.
By Kuma Go To Post3-D is @ a premium. At very least you know he won't bust. Being young means he has up side. Safest pick in the draft.anyone can do 3 and D. find a d leaguer or second round pick to do that
you draft a guy for a specific role like that and what do you get if he busts? take the guy with a real upside and if he fails develop him for the roles that he can play afterwards
drafting role player with lotto picks is a waste. trade the pick if you shook
By jjasper Go To PostI see what you did.
To be fair to Bamba he at least has something to work with offensively and he is at least trying to improve his game. Thabeet never did.
Well, we'll see.
I'd stay away from Bomba and Microdiscectomy Porter Jr. in the top 10.

Tatum gives you 3&D. But so much more too. And it's the so much more that he got drafted for. Not the 3&D.
By Adam Go To PostWell, we'll see.I agree with Bomba I don’t think he will be as bad as thabeet but I am not sure I see him being anything special. I am a little more intrigued at Porter. I guess we will see here real soon at the combine how he is (fully preparing for him to be the pick. Wallace cares too much about high school rankings. Being able to pick a former #1 player is a dream to him)

he can make him into super capela if nothing else
Mo Bamba's arms make me uncomfortable when I look at how long they are. Especially compared to his already giantly tall body.
Just watched like a minute of JJJ highlights. I'm happy if Mavs can grab him. He'll probably go before Bamba though...
By pilonv1 Go To PostThey'll need some more shooters for Bud thoughNot sure they do.
By giririsss Go To PostNot sure they do.
If Giannis magically starts shooting 37-38% from three then sure.
Masai didn’t even make an offer. I’m wondering if he told suitors that he wanted some level of managerial control. Everybody but Milwaukee appear to have passed on the guy.
By DY_nasty Go To PostI like bustba for you guys only because of ConleyThat would be ok I guess. I think I have convinced myself to try and trade down and get Carter, Young, or Porter. Maybe Bulls the 4 and McLemore for 7 and 22.

By pilonv1 Go To PostIf Giannis magically starts shooting 37-38% from three then sure. They've got a bunch of guys who shoot over .350. like 6 or so.
They could really use guys who are more than just shooters though. And put some of that athleticism into a coherent defensive plan.
By Randolph Freelander Go To PostI think Toronto should go ahead and hire LaVar Ball.If Lavar gets hired ahead of Master P I’m becoming a curling fan.

Budd becomes coach of the bucks. Hope he can make sense of them.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostIf Lavar gets hired ahead of Master P I’m becoming a curling fan.Like you aren't a curling fan already.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostProbably something to that. Despite some idiot in NY reporting it, the Suns never offered Budd a contract either.

By giririsss Go To PostLike you aren't a curling fan already. It is the most ridiculous spectator sport I can imagine. “What if bowling was really really slow, and two people had brooms?”
Of the people I know who’ve tried it, the only defence they can offer for it is “you get drunk while you play.”

its almost like a memo went out telling all teams to try something new
not that I'm disparaging Bud, just noticing there's been more interest in new names than I've seen in a while
By Branduil Go To PostMy ranking isIt's cool that we'll end up with one of them. Why do you want the guy with the broken back?
1. (Healthy) MJP
2. JJJ
3. Bamba
4. Bagley
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postits almost like a memo went out telling all teams to try something newThat's just a trend that's been happening the last several years. Lots of first time head coaches in the league right now.
