I get it... his dad is a horrible person...I fully agree
By diehard Go To PostI wish i could hate Lonzo more because he was a Laker but.. do we even know who is best between DSJ/Fox/Lonzo/Fultz/Frank yet?Dennis was decent for a rookie basically Westbrook rookie like...he only shot 3% better

really trying to understand how you can hate on 10/7/7 from a 20 year old in an offense that wasn't even tailored to him (it was built to feature ingram) but let the hate flow

People are vicariously hating on LaVar because LaVar is vicariously living through his son. It's not that hard. If not for LaVar, people wouldn't know who the fuck Lonzo is.
Or maybe I'm just speaking for myself. Quite possible.

The Kawhi laugh stuff seems kinda mean tbh. I know a few players(MKG off the top of my head) that are uncomfortable speaking publicly and probably to specifically avoid stuff like this.
I'm probably reading too much into it though because I don't think Kawhi has ever shied away from media responsibilities.

I only hate on his family, really like his game except for his broke AF shot. Think he'll end up like Kidd but not that good
By blackace Go To PostKidd shot 2% better than him his rookie year…If he can't create in the half court because of a lack of a first step and no outside shot he's basically done as a starter.
His half court PG game needs but a lot of that is from the fact that no respects his drive and it's hard to create without that respect
And Kidd was great in the half court, and could get to the rim and finished well. He also got his 3p% up to respectable levels in that 2nd year, and kept it at respectable or better for the rest of his career.
I mean, Lonzo also shot the 3 better than Andre Miller did. And i respect the hell out of Andre Miller, 16 or 17 seasons, averaged 12 & 7?
It's a different era, and Lonzo went #2. If his peak is Andre Miller so be it, but that basically rules him out of ever being more than "starting caliber". And never more than a 4th option.

Tyrekes problem was he didn't give a fuck after his second year. I don't think anyone disputed how great his rookie season was. His individual willingness to improve just wasn't there and he's continued to push teams away ever since.
Not sure how the two are related.
And like
Flaws and all, that's still a good line for a rookie pg. The hate doesn't make sense.

Someone who can pass like that will always have a place in the league, unless they're immobile like Kendall Marshall

Because when you realise how much he had to chuck to get to 10ppg ... it's not as impressive. He's just got a super long way to go. Add in a knee injury and now being benched ...

Seriously hope he's starting or playing 30mpg for his sake soon, and this it to just nurse him back from injury.
What's rational about 10/7/7 at 21 he is doomed and a bust
Not like anyone could outchuck Clarkson and Randle for the Lakers either but ok
Bender gets 4 years of figuring it out but Lonzo? The bushes

Trutthfully though, Id probably like lonzo more if it werent for his dad,
And id take him over any other PG on that draft.

This is so weird to me because y'all know all I do is shit on young PGs but I don't even get a chance to hate on his lack of a floater because of Tyreke Evans and Brandon Roy name drops

I don't get the Lonzo hate. He's not great right now sure, and he's way behind Tatum and Mitchell and whatever, but he gets your team easy buckets and he doesn't clog up your offense. He's got some decent length so he's not a total disaster on defense. All in all, a solid plus player when playing against league average or below average lineups. Not sure what the complaint is.
Caveat is that he'll never be better than slightly above average if he continues to shoot like he does now, but that's what being 21 years old is for.

the hate is because his dad, lakers fans and even magic hyped him up as the next big thing and then he came in and stunk up the place for the first few games. if he played on the kings and had a different last name nobody would even talk about him much.
I'm really sorry that I started some shit over Lonzo. DY is right, I was irrational to hate on him. Lonzo is probably just trying to find his way in between the rap beefs (with his own teammates) and having the immense pressure of being a number two draft pick placed upon him. Maybe one day he can make his shot work for him at the NBA level. Who cares. Basketball is just a business and to that end I'm just glad that Magic and Rob Pelinka never completed a trade for either Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, or Jimmy Butler, because at the end of the day I think they're trying to set the tone and send the message that they won't be played around with or trifled with and at the very worst fleeced like a Mitch Kupchak and Jim Buss dynamic duo.
By Kibner Go To PostHe plays defense for roughly four minutes each game.
Rajon Rondo has already alluded to this in an interview, by reminiscing over how much Kevin Garnett would communicate on the defensive end.
As someone who has to work with people all the time, I can certainly appreciate the paramount importance of effective communication.
I wonder how much this says about the Pelicans and their team as a whole that maybe they were only communicating for four minutes each game?
Maybe AD just wasn't ready to be a defensive goon like KG yet?
Anyway, I think Rondo will definitely be able to count on LeBron barking at him.
