Why the fuck would I be mad, I am just sharing something interesting. Especially if it did happen. Multiple beatwriters have been reporting that shit, Jason Lloyd was the one to break it and he is to the Cavs locker room as to what Marcus Thompson is to ours. He's tight with the locker room.
Kawhi didn't say shit through his own mouth this entire past postseason, but we could see the writing on the wall. We not supposed to listen to what some decent beatwriters say now? Zach Lowe reported that Kawhi was cool with most of the roster, but was falling out with the organization and was going to leave either way. We not supposed to take his word?
I'm one of the more critical people about my team and I call Draymond and KD's shit out on the regular. Same with Lacob. But nah just cuz I don't dickride my team and I am real with their bullshit and flaws, come get smoke if you want it.
Going back, even if Utah were to match anyways, there was talk about it and a sign and trade could have actually made this possible.
Say if this was to happen, would they still be able to sign Lebron too? All that money that went to Tristan Thompson and JR Smith would have gone to Hayward and Ariza.

funny story considering how he agreed to come to charlotte instead
As much as everyone gives you shit I really feel bad for you and other Charlotte fans.
Your #2 pick get fucked out of Anthony Davis, #2 pick got fucked out of Shaq, You traded up for #2and missed out on Dwight Howard, and drafted Okafor rather than Iggy or Deng, missed out on Bogut, Deron Williams, CP3, Marvin Williams and ended up getting Raymond Felton with #5; Picked #3 right after LMA and missed out talent that year too.
You missed out key free agent signings like Hayward and others. Your lack of big man luck in the draft robbed you of a Kemba/AD perennial playoffs team. Shit you could have even had Damian Lillard, Bradley Beal, Harrison Barnes, even Andre Drummond and you stuck with MKG.
I just feel really bad for what you gotta go through and I understand why you hating all the time.
You have it as bad as the Grizzlies do to be honest.
By diehard Go To PostI.. i don't know how i can explain it any further.I get your points. But they don't alter anything.
The games you're seeing in b-tier leagues might not abuse possesions properly, but NBA coaches (excluding ty lue) would.
All you're doing by putting a point cap on it is creating an artificial extra possession cap at the end of the game.
Which might push even more fouling.
What I am more embarrassed about is that this is going to be the 3rd or 4th year that I have the Raptors making it out if the East into the finals.
You think I would have learned by now. After getting swept by Lebron I would never believe in Toronto ever again. But Kawhi Leonard on the Raptors and Lebron leaving the East got me thinking that they make the finals, again.

By giririsss Go To PostI get your points. But they don't alter anything.None of that makes any sense. The only extra fouling that could happen would be when a team is up 3 and the other team doesn't want them to hit a 3 to win, which is somewhat similar to what teams do now when a team is up by 3 and will foul.

The math for their being similar fouls or possibly even more absolutely does not work out. "Take fouls" will never result in a worse points per possession than letting the other team run their offense normally (well, almost never), and if it did.. teams would be doing it far earlier than the final minutes of the game.
By giririsss Go To PostElam does nothing to stop the clock. And does nothing to stop intentional fouls. It just doesn't. It just potentially stops the game earlier? To what end?No...there’s no game clock at all. The game hits the 3 minute mark and then the clock goes away completely, and it’s first team to hit the target score wins.
Whole thing seems pointless.
There’s zero incentive to foul, you’re giving the other team free points while you have a deficit to make up and they only need 7. I guess technically hack-a-Shaq is still in play, but there’s a reason that even now that type of guy isn’t typically on the floor in crunch time anymore.
By diehard Go To Postthe hack-a-shaq rules could still exist in the Elam ending, so there's no difference there.I kind of don’t even mind the hack-a-Shaq. Not being able to stay on the floor in crunch time because you’re not good at basketball fundamentals is like...okay.
it turns off the clock altogether?
That sounds even more dumb than before.
So you play 99% of the game with one set of rules... to just entirely change the objective?

By blackace Go To PostI don't know how they beat a even deeper Cs team… with a new coach and 2 stars who might quit on the team
Well that depends on if you can get Leonard to lock in. Nurse isn't as good as Stevens as a coach, but what he has to work with can make it a competitive series. Like the worst part about the team is Jonas Valenciunas, and if they can get rid of him for a better C by the trade deadline, the Raptors are the best in the East.
From what has been reported, my thought is that Leonard was more disillusioned with San Antonio and being traded was a higher priority. LA is the best case scenario and his preferred destination, but now that he lost that leverage, he has to play in Toronto or risk even more money in 2019.
Toronto has one of the best defensive starting wing rotations in the league between Lowry, Green, and Leonard.
For the past couple season Leonard has been exclusively a ISO threat and a top-2 defensive player in the league. Leonard is paired with the best point guard he has played with in his career (sorry tony parker), and is surrounded by young 3-D shooters. This is the best roster he has been on post-Tim Duncan.
Offensively and Defensively, Kyle Lowry is better than Kyrie, Leonard is better than Hayward, Serge Ibaka/Jonas Valenciunas is worse than Tatum/Horford. Their benches are comparable. Toronto last year, if they were matched with Boston rather than Cleveland, would have done better comparatively and won.
It's before the season starts and it depends on a lot of things like health, but they would take each other to what 6-7 games and either could win. I just think Leonard is that much of an upgrade and that good of a player over the Celtics.
By giririsss Go To Postit turns off the clock altogether? The objective to score and stop the other team from scoring doesn't change at all. Like i was saying, it actually makes the game change less because like with literally every other possession in the game besides of end of quarter and 2 for 1 situations, the game clock doesn't matter.
That sounds even more dumb than before.

Lowry is absolutely not better than Parker circa 2011-2014, and definitely not better than Kyrie offensively.

Your first line is still the tools you use currently. But with Elam, the objective changes.
Currently it's to score more than your opponent does in 48minutes.
Elam changes it to: after 44 minutes we play first to 7, with a handicap.
You use the same tools. But it's a different objective.
It changes the objective of the game, and won't solve anything. Why wouldn't i just move fouling up to the 40th minute and play 40 - 44 like i used to 44 - 48? To balance possessions in my favour?
It's just entirely artificial and solves nothing.

To balance possessions in my favour?I don't understand your argument here. Fouling at the end of a game is a desperation move to create more possessions, that desperation is greatly reduced when you know you have a period at the end of the game to catch up without the clock running. It's the same thing with how you don't currently see teams fouling with 5 minutes to go when they are down 10, it's not an effective defensive strategy (caveat with awful free throw shooters that they put in a rule for)
We'll just have to disagree about this

Even if I have to play first to 7 afterwards, i can only artificially create more possessions before the clock ends.
And if I have to do that using fouls, then ... well it's already done.
In fact, it's more likely to increase the number of games where its done. If i feel like I can cut a 15 point deficit to 8 by fouling and creating more possessions, and take my chance on making up 8 points at the end of regulation...
It just doesn't solve anything. And artificially creates a really weird ending.
i'm not arguing FOR the current system. I think everyone agree's it can be ugly in a 2 possession game.
But I can't see how Elam solves a single thing.

It's a terrible strategy. You are statistically far more likely to increase the opponents lead by doing it, this strategy that you would employ is awful.

Stevens is one of the best coaches in the NBA.
Kyrie is beter on Offense than Lowry. Particularly in play offs where there tends to be more isolations (particularly when everyone on both teams can switch). Lowry is better defensively. On guards. But Boston can run lineups where there is only one guard, and have it not affect their offense at all.
Leonard is better than Hayward, but it's not like it'll be a complete trouncing. Hayward is really good, and is a great system player.
And after that, the C's are insanely deep. Tatum has the potential to be the best player in the NBA. Horford is the best big between the two teams (let THAT sink in :| ). And Brown is better than Green.
On paper, the C's should take a series over Toronto 4 - 1. Toronto are playing catchup in 3 out of 5 positions, and only win one, marginally. But that's all on paper, and Toronto has quite a few young guys who could develop this year themselves.
Smh I know Kawhi had all this drama this offseason but lets not forget he had the Spurs up by 20 against GS before they sent Zaza to goon him out the series.
Wait, Nurse is the actual name of an actual Raptors coach?
I thought we were talking about an actual nurse that had swooned Kawhi's heart.

Dwight Howard says the Golden State Warriors expressed interest in his services this summer.
In the end, however, John Wall‘s recruitment helped convince the big fella to join the Washington Wizards instead.
Per NBC Sports Washington:
“Shoutout to John for reaching out to me and asking me about joining this team,” Howard said.
“No lie, when I saw the message on Instagram, I really got so happy. I was like ‘John just DM’d me, oh man this is crazy!’ After that, I really just started to put on my thinking cap,” Howard said. “I just thought about all the possibilities. I was like ‘man, this could be the best spot for me.'”
Howard liked the thought of playing with Wall and appreciated his communication so much that he says it helped sway him from signing with the Warriors. Golden State ended up doing well for themselves by signing DeMarcus Cousins, but they did reach out to Howard.
“Golden State called and I thought about them. But once John sent me that message, I was like man. I couldn’t tell him at first, but I was like ‘man, I’m going to be a Wizard.’ That was my mindset,” he said.

In corner A:
“I thought about joining a dynasty and winning championships, but then I got a message on Instagram and I was like *squeee!* I get to play with the John Wall! I’m telling you, I was totally fan-girling out over here. Sorry Steph & KD, maybe next time. (yeah right!)”
In corner B:
“I’ve heard and haven’t reported this, and maybe this will get aggregated,” said Kawakami on ESPN’s Zach Lowe’s The Lowe Post. “I really heard this. It’s better than Dwight Howard. Dwight Howard was a ‘no’. That was a ‘no’ in a lot of precincts of the Warriors. Flat out ‘no’. And so DeMarcus Cousins against that backdrop is a thumbs up.”
Guys I can’t resolve this paradox.
