By Jeff-DSA Go To PostApparently Ball and Simmons proved you don't have to shoot in college to get drafted. Now you don't have to defend. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO?!Ayton put up monster stats going about 70% effort. he played ok defense. Just not hyper effort. And there's no reason for him to. He showed he's skilled, and super athletic. Getting into it on defense with other bigs that aren't ever going to get drafted is a great way to get banged up / injured over nothing.
By s y 2.0 Go To PostLillard and McCollum planting fake stories smhLMA-O
Maybe they don't get swept with HC with LMA tho lmao
By diehard Go To PostBall actually shot pretty well in College, the question is whether he could get his shot off when coming to the NBA. He actually got it off pretty ok honestly.. just super inconsistent.Every time Ball shoots, I swear he's acting out and saying, "the earth goes 'round the sun, the rocket flies up, basketball is fun." But then he gets blocked and it's not fun.

The only contracts Philly has on their books in 2021-2022 are Joel Embiid and Robert Covington... Can't wait for the decision dominoes to fall, first one will be Fultz and we won't see that until Summer League.
By joefu Go To PostI think he wanted the Celtics assistant
this is better than the other guy who was rumored right? Dy you wanted him right?
By s y 2.0 Go To PostDam collison was there forever.
By s y 2.0 Go To PostI think he wanted the Celtics assistantah thats right. i don't get how anyone knows anything about assistant coaches on teams that you dont follow lol.
I can't name very many. I know Stotts and Casey were Mavs assistants and part of the 2011 team. I can maybe name one or two on the Mavs?
By knux-future Go To PostBorrego didn't exactly impress in his last two stints as head coach, no?To be fair, Orlando and Nola were trainwrecks in progress when he took over.
I guess I'm just wait and see. It's not like he got us as the only interview either.
By masud Go To PostHow the fuck is Ayton a clear number 1? Because America? And hiring his national team coach is a pretty clear indication that the Sun's are considering Doncic.Luka will be a top pick... but if they land number 1 I am pretty sure they will take the super athletic big... I don't think they hired a coach based on a pick they might not even get... I think they hired Igor because he is an offensive minded coach and that is Phx basketball

Pull him out before it too late!!!
Only a matter time before you start looking at whodafuks like they're good.
I think they hired Koko because of his ties to phx, every player seemed to like him, and most places he goes seem to do very well.
I'm sure there's more, but he has been in charge of developing a few guys (dragic... probably worked with Mitchell).
I mean, there should be more to it than just that. But i think those all helped a lot.
But if the Suns don't take Ayton ... we're basically fucked for another few years.

winslow was dunking with two hands barely grazing the rim in his workout videos. I called him trash then but dy said he was D-Harden.
it was a confusing time. I remember switching gears to hype myself on kaminsky and everything else became a blur
I'll never deny my hate on Booker though. Absurd that Cal would force him to play like that while letting the twins commit crimes against basketball.

We still doing can't teach size in 2018? Ayton is a physical specimen but I don't see anything about his game that makes me want to take him over the best Euro prospect ever.
Taking a wing that may not be able to separate from his defenders in the top 5 is risky as hell. I've seen things when it comes to that
By masud Go To PostWe still doing can't teach size in 2018? Ayton is a physical specimen but I don't see anything about his game that makes me want to take him over the best Euro prospect ever.Basketball will always be about size... and Ayton isn't only big but he is crazy mobile with great hands... Luka's game will most likely translate well to the NBA but the knock on him is can he handle the speed of the NBA... Basketball is basketball but it took Rubio quite a bit to get adjusted to the NBA all around pace. I think Ayton going to be a beast at the NBA level tho

I think Ayton going to be a beast at the NBA level thoFrom a Suns standpoint a big that can do anything to help create spacing will be a godsend. Going from Len and Chandler who can basically only do layups and alley oops to someone with potential to be dominant offensively especially in this pick n roll era would be huge.
By blackace Go To Postif the Suns don't end up with the first pick and Luka is there they take him but yeah a Ayton / Booker is too good to pass onI can see them taking Luka if Ayton is gone. And I'd be ok with that.
But if Ayton is there and they don't take him it's a fireable offense for the whole FO.

He has touch, and moves, and with out giving any fucks / going at 70% he put up 20 & 11 while shooting .650 from 2.
He's not just physically gifted. Guy actually has skills / talent.
Passing that up is just the dumbest thing ever.

I mean, look at that, it seems stupid simple, but he knows where space is. He goes to it and finds it easily, for the easy buckets.
Now that space isn't going to be there in the NBA. But that he knows how to find it already? Or could dissect it that easily?
Then he's popping off jumpers with actual confidence.
Finishing post moves with his non-dominant hand (i.e. his left).
And yeah, he's doing all that against college defenses etc etc etc. But that's close to a complete package for a big.

him getting way fewer steals and blocks than other blue chip bigs in recent years is a heavy red flag

By s y 2.0 Go To Postfishner, marcus smart isn't athletic…compared to Justise, though...
Also, don't get me wrong, i think Doncic could be great, at worst Manu 2.0. Genuinely. The only real question is his athleticism / first step.
But All star Bigs are harder to come by, and the Suns are in desperate need of one.
