Who's Scotto?
From what I heard the Suns did their interviews and their first pick was Kosko and basically went after him straight away after the interview.
That most players who have played under him have come out and said what a great pick it is for the Suns is encouraging, Nash, Dragic, even Dudley.
That said, There's certainly every chance Fiz passed on the Suns for, as you your self said, Dolans stupid money.
Money and fame of NY but hopefully it works out. I’m fine with KoKo especially reading about his player development skills.
What do Knick fans think of picking him over Bud if thats really the truth?

He knows how to work the media, prolly will help with free agents too with his reputation
Welcome news for the Knicks.
But I won't hold my breath. I do like that he has a lot of close ties and knows how to relate and get the most out of today's athletes. But the NY media can make or break you.

I'm sure it was posted. But damn, Fiz got 4 years of dolan money. 4 years! What are the guesses at salary. 8M per year?

Hey, Lebron injuries aren't impossible, just incredibly rare.
I kind of want to watch him chase Jordan though.

From denial to acceptance in one post. You're coping well.
https://www.sny.tv/knicks/news/james-dolan-explains-why-knicks-needed-change-from-hornacek/272899656
So Dolan basically explaining why Hornacek was fired... odd coming form a complete nincompoop.
So Dolan basically explaining why Hornacek was fired... odd coming form a complete nincompoop.
For Hornacek, in particular, Dolan says he wasn't adapting to the way players deal with coaches and management in today's game. That was the main reason the Knicks wanted to make a change.Really happy about the Fitzdale hire. Coaches preaches tough hard-nosed play and is a great communicator.
"I think Hornacek had the same kind of issue that [former team president] Phil (Jackson) did in that he didn't grasp how different the players are now in the way they think and deal with management and the coaches," Dolan told The Post's Larry Brooks. "I think he was way behind on that.
"But I think Jeff is a good coach and he'll do well when he's hired by another team."
…
"The old-style coaching doesn't work," Dolan said. "A coach who tries to do everything himself isn't going to be successful.
"The coaching search for the Knicks is similar in a lot of ways to the Rangers. I think the teams are in similar spots. We're looking for people to develop players and to create a winning team. We have our lists of candidates, but the lists are still open."
By AlphaSnacks Go To PostI wonder if that means Joakim will make it back to the roster? :\I forgot noah is with the team lol.
By AlphaSnacks Go To PostI wonder if that means Joakim will make it back to the roster? :\Honest question: to do what? Look at his stats the last 3-4 years, the guy is beyond cooked. Phil Jackson’s poor decision making is the only reason he’s still in the league.
only reason to take that job is the bag and the fact that no one will hold it against you if you dont succeed with the knicks.
The Knicks can be good in spite of Dolan, the Rangers are and that's largly because Dolan hired a good GM and left him the fuck alone. It's the same thing he did with Pjax, he just hired the wrong guy. If he gives Perry the same leeway they can turn it around.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostHonest question: to do what? Look at his stats the last 3-4 years, the guy is beyond cooked. Phil Jackson’s poor decision making is the only reason he’s still in the league.Honestly he looked serviceable in the 20 minutes of game time Hornacek gave him this season. His defense won us that game in New Orleans. Even if he's not playable I want him back around the team, he's a good character guy.
Yea if Dolan can only stop hiring the wrong people to run basketball. It's not like people been saying this for 15 years now.
Hey everyone thought Pjax was a good hire. I felt like I was the only one against it at the time. The jury is still out on Perry.
SAS main point of contention is he doesn't think Fiz has a strong enough personality to take on Dolan and that culture, although he believes Fiz will be an excellent coach.
Which is fucking dumb because Fiz has tons of personality and got fired for not backing down against Gasol.
By masud Go To PostHey everyone thought Pjax was a good hire. I felt like I was the only one against it at the time. The jury is still out on Perry. The fuck you mean everyone lol
By masud Go To PostHey everyone thought Pjax was a good hire. I felt like I was the only one against it at the time. The jury is still out on Perry.I did not because I doubted he knew anything it actually took to build a team, dealing with agents, and negotiating the CBA.
By reilo Go To PostThe fuck you mean everyone lolHey a lot of people did. And most of the concern was about him was about whether Dolan was actually gonna give him the reigns or not.
By Kibner Go To PostI did not because I doubted he knew anything it actually took to build a team, dealing with agents, and negotiating the CBA.Same. But all I kept hearing was "11 rings!"
By Moris Go To PostIt sounds like Mills needs to be replaced. He's not going anywhere, he's in Dolans circle of trust and hasn't gotten sued for sexual harassment. But I don't think he's an issue. He was an executive for msg for years and he took on a basketball role for the first time when he served under Phil, most of that Knicks stink is not on him. Plus he seems like the driving force behind the patient rebuild stuff the Knicks keep talking about recently so he's cool with me.

Fisher too
By Moris Go To PostIt sounds like Mills needs to be replaced. You don't say...
I mean he was more of a behind-the-scenes glad-hander in the past, but has actual basketball acumen unlike Dolan. He was a yes-man for a lot of decisions in the past, but not directly responsible for them until he got his powerup last year. He hired Scott Perry and was on the panel that got Fitz so he may actually be decent.
The job of the CEO (essentially what Mills is within the Knicks org) is to hire the right people around him/her.
Thus far, Mills has hired Perry and together they've hired Fiz. So far, alone in this role, he's made two respectable choices at the moment.

By masud Go To PostI was talking more about the national media, you guys think everything the knicks do is bad when it's really only about 90%.I'm a Pelican fan. Why the fuck would I care about what the national media says?
Are we really looking at a situation where Bud might not find a place to land? Any chance Portland goes for him if Milwaukee goes with Messina?
By pkaz01 Go To PostAre we really looking at a situation where Bud might not find a place to land? Any chance Portland goes for him if Milwaukee goes with Messina?Bud might chill for a couple years on Atlanta's dime then coach the Spurs. That's what I'd do.
By Kibner Go To PostI'm a Pelican fan. Why the fuck would I care about what the national media says?Ok? All I'm saying is that the general consensus in the basketball world was that hiring Pjax was a good move. I remember clearly because I didn't get it.
By masud Go To PostBud might chill for a couple years on Atlanta's dime then coach the Spurs. That's what I'd do.That would be interesting and probably a likely outcome once Pop retires. Unless he is grooming Messina for the role
By masud Go To PostBud might chill for a couple years on Atlanta's dime then coach the Spurs. That's what I'd do.None of the smart basketball people were convinced it was a good move. It was, at best, an interesting one.

I didn't think it was a good move the moment he said everything was gonna be about the triangle, and then he immediately gave Carmelo a $120mil deal with a NTC.
By Kibner Go To PostNone of the smart basketball people were convinced it was a good move. It was, at best, an interesting one.I liked the part where Phil was calling Dolan out on his shit early, and leaking it to the media.

Ramona Shelborne:
For all the talk of Zen and the Triangle offense and the way he's able to manage superstars, his genius comes from his ability to create a closed ecosystem around a team. A world where his values and beliefs rule. A bubble where a team can grow. There's more out there but I'm on my phone at work, I'll look them up later...
He is Zeus. He blocks out the sun and the rain. He blunts the noise and the chaos. Which is exactly what the Knicks need right now.
By giririsss Go To PostBut yeah there were a lot of questions about Phil's appointment. Mainly triangle shaped questions.Phil didn't really start popping off about the triangle till after he fired Woodson. I'm talkinf about the immediate reaction after the hire and the few days before when it was rumored.
