Melo’s just not built to play off the ball with a 38% usg guy. That said, he really should be coming off the bench somewhere, because at least he could play his game if he was out there with a bench unit against backups. He’s a good enough shooter to be that guy.
melo''s a fatass malcontent who's literally one of bottom 3 players in the league when you account for his trash play on top of his terrible attitude
Melo is old. Bron has everyone thinking people should never fall off....that dude is a mutant and doesn't count. Melo's fall off is right on schedule.

He's not a good enough shooter to do anything but average 9 ppg off 10 shots off the bench at this point.

That said, yeah, he’s been doughy his whole career, he doesn’t seem to have that crazy fitness drive that a lot of other guys have.
Paul Pierce and Joe Johnson should've been Melo's models to emulate of how to age gracefully and still be an effective contributor to a winning team.

Vince Carter is a glass statue who’ll be 42 in January and he’ll still be in the league next year dunking on some poor Memphis Grizzly, possibly Marcus Fenix.
All those guys knew how to play defense long before they were flabby though
You can't learn defense in your 30s WHILE being played billions

Melo has tunnel vision and wears hater blockers. He'll opt in to his last 30 million dollar season then wither away in Sacramento.

By blackace Go To PostRegardless most players really liked Jackson and he just clashed with ownership more than anything (
There were direct quotes from players not 2 weeks ago, summarising how he fucked up the locker room and made it toxic all on his own. And not just between players, but coaching staff / FO too.
You were called out on the Jackson pandering then. Not going over it again my self, but the above is just factually wrong. The only player who liked Jackson definitively was Steph. But he got over that quick.
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostKieff can't move. He's 60 years old in regards to his defense in combination with animal dumb mistakes and decisions. Shouldn't even waste minutes on him next year. Give him his money and papers and get some youngry d-leaguer a chance.Yeah, it's not just a defensive awareness thing with Kieff. He's bit of a tweener body wise. But he can't run with SF's at all. And he can't play the 5 either.
Wait, Melo was a good passer.
But his refusal to accept that at 34 / 35 he's not the same guy he was at 28 will see him fall to infamy next season.
Though, as someone else said, whats to stop the Thunder just saying "Melo, you're 6th man, don't like it? then don't re-sign or just don't show up to practices and we'll fine you your salary".

It's annoying because if you give him three steps to prep and launch he'll dunk on you, but outside of that his explosion isn't there at all. His favorite shot is also a post fadeaway--inefficent af. He also can't drive when you close out on him. Zero dribbling. He's really a modern 5, but can't really defend the bigger ones and can't get out on the stretch's. Can't switch. Just a poor all around player.

He'd work as a Big 3 / Small ball 4 (punish in the post, create space). If he could defend small ball 4's or normal SF's at all.
But he can't, so it becomes REALLY hard to work around him.

He needs to be aired out
B2b first round exits for his team. Nobody in that organization can control him. They'll have to bring in a strong minded coach to reel him in because the current people in place at OKC aren't going to be able to do it.

Mills and Perry already stated that their search is so vast because they'd still like to learn how a lot of the coaches in the league think and what their attitudes are like.

Kawhi Leonard's camp has come to believe the issue has more to do with an ossification or hardening in the quadriceps area where the muscle has been repeatedly bruised and then an atrophying, which in turn affected the tendons connecting the muscle to the knee, according to multiple sources. This whole thing has been
The Spurs' doctors were initially calling the shots for most of last summer in his workouts in San Antonio with team staffers and in San Diego with his longtime personal trainer.
Things changed in August as Leonard continued to experience discomfort.
The frustration on the Spurs' end stems from losing control of the medical care of their franchise player, and the way in which the entire process has been handled by Leonard's representation, according to multiple sources.
Said one Spurs staffer, "It's out of our hands."
"Our focus for all of our players is to provide them with the very best in player care for their entire career," RC Buford told ESPN early Tuesday morning. "Throughout this process with Kawhi, our goal has been to give him the best care and support available no matter where that comes from."
Kawhi: “My knee is still in extreme pain.”
Spurs: “No it isn’t.”
I don’t know how Buford gets to come out here and talk about “best care and support no matter where it’s from” after a whole year of them throwing him shade in the press and quotes in this very article about them being frustrated they don’t control his treatment.
