Hell, even Bonzi Wells and Zach Randolph are still endeared by the franchise. Bonzi flat out flipped off fans.

By Kibner Go To PostThe Wizards stopped playing with 3 minutes to go and just stood around while Pascal Siakam soloed every loose ball. They were only down 10 and didn’t even foul for the last minute.
I kinda feel like if you curl up into a ball on your home court in an elimination game you don’t get to talk like you’re the secret better team afterwards.

For all his talk, Wall doesn't seem like much of a leader. And his teams have no heart.
By giririsss Go To PostWiz quit.He said he got “tired” at the end of the last two games, which may mean he wasn’t quite in game shape yet but from the sound of things was code for him playing hurt.
For all his talk, Wall doesn't seem like much of a leader. And his teams have no heart.
He’s definitely not much of a leader, his teammates seem to not like him very much, but I wouldn’t say they have no heart because they put up a hell of a fight against ATL & Boston last year.
That said I have no idea why they just stopped playing at the end of this game, even the announcers were like”huh? Really? Okay.”
Oh, it seems like the Wiz are playing games with players health. For sure.
And i don't know why players are putting up with that shit. Didn't we just get the BEST (read, worst) lesson about that from IT2 and the Celtics?

By giririsss Go To PostOh, it seems like the Wiz are playing games with players health. For sure.Players are competitive, they know everybody’s dinged up by the end of the season, they don’t want to let their teammates down, and nobody wants to miss out on those playoff cheques.

They really should go hard at Kokoskov or Nick Nurse although they have been mentioned to be in talks with them. I just don't want to get my hopes up.
Also thank god for this
I hope Stack gets a gig because he was a loyal soldier and went through the grind of g-league coaching when he could have easily been an assistant at the NBA level.
But if Nick Nurse gets hired away I’ll be shooken.

Ours is the same, you knew for an entire season you were going to need a new coach and here we are a year later and you are interviewing 50 people in a couple of weeks. How does interviewing a lot of people mean that you're clueless? That's called diligence, and after Pjax, who went on vacation in the middle of a coaching search and left it to his assistants it's refreshing.
I also don't see how it's a pr stunt. It's not like they're holding press conferences. The only reason we even know they interviewed that Celtics assistant is because the media got on their detective shit after the fact.

I'm currently choosing to not think about this impending off-season because I know who ghastly it's going to be. I watched hockey the last two nights. Out of sight, out of mind.
By masud Go To PostHow does interviewing a lot of people mean that you're clueless? That's called diligence, and after Pjax, who went on vacation in the middle of a coaching staff and left it to his assistants it's refreshing.McD hired watson without interviewing anybody else other than the players and that blew up in his face. To do the extreme opposite and interview interview isn't good either. Yes diligence is important, but 5 - 10 people would make sense, the number of guys the Suns and Knicks are going through just seems like they don't even have a clue who they are targeting or what they want from their coach based on the personnel they have.

You should have done your homework on coaching candidates already. You should have a shortlist, knowing their strengths and weaknesses, how they would fit with your players, and your teams goals. Interviewing 50 candidates screams "I haven't done my homework so i'm just going to muddy the water, cover my ass, and interview everyone!".
eh, i don't think its that simple for certain teams. its not like the knicks actually have personnel worth building around outside of porz and he might not even play next year. so they can interview to see peoples' best long term goals instead of fit. really different process. just like how you interview guys to build a culture or develop a group of young players, there's different things to focus on
plus its not like they had real coaching searches before. they're probably learning from the process as well. can't really hate. its better than locking in on a guy - that goes to shit more times than not

Yeah no, making up your mind before interviewing people is dumb, especially for a first time gm, you gotta be humble. Plus theres nothing wrong with talking to people and it certainly doesn't imply that you haven't done your homework unless you want it to.
Honestly the only thing different about the Knicks coaching search compared to other teams is the amount of interviews they're being granted (everybody and their momma wants that Dolan cash), and the amount of attention it's getting (Juwan Howard could have interviewed with the suns last week and we'd never find out because no one gives a shit).
By giririsss Go To PostThere's a lot you can get done before hand though and not be wasting your time doing preliminary work when you should be priming up to narrow down your candidates and get them before someone else does.ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i don't think the rush for coaches is as big of a deal as it used to be. league's changed too much. its best to get a guy who's your best fit then running at "your guy" if you're a franchise with a relatively high turnover when it comes to staff/FO
orlando got their guy all the time
I just dont get why these recently fired coaches outside of fizdale are even getting interviewed. Like why are we even talking to Clifford right now?
Think you both mis-interpreted it.
If you're interviewing 20 guys, it seems like you have NFi what you're doing.
I'm not saying narrow it down to 2 guys before seasons end. But you should have a really solid grasp of the 5 or so you're genuinely interested in, from assistants on other teams, to coaches not currently employed / college coaches. This isn't like an entry level Help Desk position where the candidates history is a blank slate completely unknown.
Additional interviews for guys like Budd and potentially Stotts, whom no one would have predicted being available makes a ton of sense.
You're right, if you have your next head coach already picked, then you're doing it wrong. But you should have a very solid short list to work from.

Like why are we even talking to Clifford right now?clifford's great for a regime change and is a great culture guy, i think most of his bullshit came from bumping heads with cho. i think both of those guys were just never on the same page after hayward fell through and things went downhill from there.
and when it comes to making washed up vets into effective working pieces he's probably top 3 in the league. also your defense/rebounding is gonna be great no matter who's on the floor. his problems are offense and making rookies do shit they never signed up for, good or bad.
i don't think he's a bad coach, and i also think the guy needs to take real time off and get his shit together.
vinny getting another shot is ridiculous but clifford? he's a great fit for a team trying to get out the gutter. adapting with middling team for something better? he's not there yet.
