By KingGondo Go To PostThis strikes me as a coaching problem. The pieces are there to be effective on both ends.It strikes me as the normal start to a new "big 3".
Though i'm not saying donovan is a good coach by any means.

We're kind of hinging everything on a solid end to the regular season and a good playoff run though. At least Russ re-signed through his prime.
By KingGondo Go To PostI'm not worried yet. I've seen enough awesome play to balance out the bullshit that I think we can put it together. The "scary" part is that the offense is still just taking turns though. No real offensive system.

We seem to get into a good groove in the first half and force lots of turnovers. But we're incapable of holding a lead (blown 20+ point leads against both the Czzzz and Spurs) and our buttholes get tight in crunch time. I'd prefer for PG to get most of the looks if we *must* iso, but I'd prefer that we simply move the ball and get the best shot possible regardless of who takes it.
Rudy not playing against Embiid this year saddens me.
Hood's CJ Miles disease is showing up bad tonight. Alec Burks is dumb. That is all.

Either way lol at those being assists. Might as well make in-bounding an auto assist if you score even 20+ sec later.

By blackace Go To PostMost people would had posted the evidence as well…Someone wrote a giant article on it years ago but i can't find it. Basically it comes down to the Jazz playing a much faster pace at home vs road. He got slightly more assists per possession at home, but its right on line to what the league average bump was.
His home vs away assists was 10.88 vs 10.14, so its not like its some huge divide anyway.

As Kerr postulated, the ball finds energy
So if I inbound it to you, there's some energy there that I transferred, and that provides assistance in the points scored

Wait a minute, assists are a judgment thing like errors in baseball? I thought it was like hockey where the last person to control the ball before a score got an assist for it, regardless of how long it took. Makes more sense that way.
Scorers table has sole discretion of counting something as an assist, per their interpretation of NBA rules. The home-team scorers table is hired by the home-team.

Makes more sense that way.Is the last pass to a teammate that leads directly to a field goal and the player receiving the pass must move immediately toward the basket in a scoring motion.
That's the rule, obviously still subjective but that's the rule.
I know that the league re-watches the game and takes away/rewards rebounds, why not do the same for assists?
By Random Ass Username Go To PostIs the last pass to a teammate that leads directly to a field goal and the player receiving the pass must move immediately toward the basket in a scoring motion. There's more to it. Like if the player takes more than 2 dribbles, it's not an assist etc.

I don't really have a problem with it being that specific since it makes it more exceptional. A team should be fucking passing and driving but an assist to me is like
OKC started really hot and then just stopped.
Pelicans and OKC are fun to watch because they have opposite pieces of the puzzle (great wings vs great Bigs).

That was a cool dunk by OKC on the fast break.

Damian just had a nasty ankle roll :\
Hope he's okay, he usually tends to play through instead of resting it, but he's clearly hobbled.
