By giririsss Go To PostI mean, we have years of examples of Rubio being a fantastic passer.I actually don't think he is a bad passer, but man.. he has thrown some bad passes. Still used to a pnr with Towns where a bounce pass down low was a good play.
The Jazz have a good coaching staff. They'll figure out how to get Rubio integrated. I really believe that he'll be just fine.
By rodeoclown Go To PostBrothers to the end.
I've been a Rubio stan from before he was drafted, I'll never give it up. We will be proven right
By Random Ass Username Go To Post"He a good passer tho" is like the saddest fucking defense of a player ever.I don't get it. He's consistently had an assist rate in the high 30s, low 40s and been near the top of the league in a/to ratio. He's excellent at getting people the ball and not turning it over. That's a fact.
This is the weirdest argument.
By DY_nasty Go To Postand years of teams doubling off of him as the primary ballhandler as wellDidn't say he was a scoring threat. But the new fantasy that somehow he's a bad passer is ....
it'd be different if he was had hof skills or something
By diehard Go To PostI actually don't think he is a bad passer, but man.. he has thrown some bad passes. Still used to a pnr with Towns where a bounce pass down low was a good play.Could be. Could also have been the only pass he saw available etc ...
I haven't been watching a ton of Jazz games this year.

I blame the NBA for putting on a shitty slate of games today
Celtics/Nets
Raptors/Rockets
Spurs/Mavs
no thanks

By giririsss Go To PostDidn't say he was a scoring threat. But the new fantasy that somehow he's a bad passer is ….he's not a bad passer, but he's not so great of a passer where he negates common issues like spacing consistently. that's how good he'd have to be in order to justify his issues on the court
on top of that, you gotta love the hell out of the guy to bend your entire offense around him specifically
he's just not that good. shit, lonzo might be one day. its just a rare thing you're going for by making that playstyle a staple
By DY_nasty Go To Posthe's not a bad passer, but he's not so great of a passer where he negates common issues like spacing consistently. that's how good he'd have to be in order to justify his issues on the courtEh. Rubio is one of the best passers in the NBA.

The problem is he has absolutely no scoring threat, so you're only playing him for the pass. His finishing is still terrible and now his shot is regressing to the mean.... On a jazz team bereft of offensive threats he's really shackled at what he does best.
I like Rubio. Defended him for years. But he's never got his shooting %'s up to even average levels. And that basically means he's never going to. Not after 5+ years in the NBA.
if he could even get in the paint and finish well he'd be fine too imo
when defenses know to play the pass on all your drives your pouring jelly on yourself

By DY_nasty Go To Postif he could even get in the paint and finish well he'd be fine too imoYeah. it's basically how Rondo managed to operate at all in the end. You had to at least respect his ability to finish around the rim.

I hope Rubio passes and defends a lot better moving forward because he's been terrible so far this year.

Unless you care about all the young guys Masai drafted in the 20s (+Poeltl), there's not really a whole lot of reason to watch. They're trying to adapt to a 3-ball heavy passing offence they're not built for, and they're probably going to be competitive but a notch down from last year in the name of long-term improvement. And I know Lowry & DeRozan's games are acquired tastes.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostNews to nobody, but James Harden gets away with some serious bullshit.still. 16pts in the first 1/4 is p.good.
By giririsss Go To Poststill. 16pts in the first 1/4 is p.good.
That gets a bit easier when you've got a special set of rules that allow you to stiff-arm everyone in front of you.

Houston's D has been lol.
I'm not overly optimistic Raps can walk out of there with a W though.

If he can keep this up, he's never coming off the bench again.

I just live here man. Good stadium with affordable seats, and there's no one on the roster I hate (except Horford). But I'm just biding my time on the low.
Baynes with a moving screen all the way to the rim smh
They average just over 4 per game, beating their own record from last year.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostWow. The Rockets do not take mid range shots at all.

You have the exact type of team that can get hot for 6 minutes and obliterate a lead like this. I take nothing for granted.
MVP chants.
For Kyrie.
In November.
Never should have given these NY clowns another team.
And that's game.
