I hope Klopp stays for as long as possible. I never liked him and he's gotten exposed as just another uncompromising footballing ideologue, which only works if you're given unlimited funds like Guardiola. Liverpool need a tactician like Conte or someone equivalent. Reckon Jardim would do a job there.
If Liverpool end up around 70 points but miss out on top 4 then nothing will happen to Klopp, the owner's will certainly understand that there are 6 teams competing for 4 positions and Liverpool are going to struggle given the funding available to Utd, City and Chelsea as well as the failure to secure the 2 key targets this summer. It would take a real drop down to <60 points for Klopp to be in danger
By Lupercal Go To PostWon't they expect CL again though? Maybe he can do a Mou though and get it via EL.Our owners have won one trophy in seven seasons and don't have to invest too much money into the club. They aren't exactly ruthless.

I'm not saying he's unable to reach CL. I'm saying he's unable to improve the team he currently has any further. Do you believe he can Hitch?
And I have the feeling that, similarly to BVB times, he his showing too much loyalty to the wrong types of players instead of being cutthroat enough.

By Lupercal Go To PostI do think if Klopp fails to get CL this year he'll be sacked. And get who?
Improvement over what ?
The way we're playing now, obviously
The way we were playing at the start of last season, probably not with this group of players
I expect we'll end up playing the same way we were in the last third of last season and missing out on the top 4 which wouldn't be good, but wouldn't be a sackable offense
He needs to drop the first-choice-or-nobody thing though, it's self-sabotage and has probably put paid to us doing anything this season
And as you said, that needs to come with certain players being fucked off

That is bullshit. If the ball had gone out of play then there would have been no VAR.
The scope is always changing.

Espanyol have been very unlucky today, we're barely getting by, 1 goal conceded and I think the Bernabeu will explode.

Uhhh...what?
Did he have unlimited funds at Dortmund.

Good draw vs. a very hot Atalanta. We should've killed off the game in the first half, but I'll take the point.
Congrats to Napoli on the scudetto.

If we sack Klopp, who could we get that would realistically come to the club? Grass isn't always greener.
We certainly need to sign a couple of players in January though. CB especially.

By Perfect Blue Go To PostLiverpool's Xg don't mean shit. But honestly, Klopp should stay for at leas this and next season once Keita and a proper defense is brought on, of course by then he'll lose Couts, but I'm sure they'll find a suitable replacement. Also if Origi does well on loan than that will help with moving along Sturridge.
Klopp has done a good job at Liverpool so far.
The first season was a bit hit and miss but over the season the team did improve.
Last season was a good one in terms of outcomes and the team played well often enough, with a clear purpose and within the framework the manager is looking to implement - always a good sign.
This season has just started. Sure you want to see clear improvements year-on-year, and we still might, but it isn't always that simple. Especially not when you don't address needs within your squad (of course Klopp may be responsible for that).
What Liverpool really need is to win something - it's been ages since they have. They might struggle to cope with it but they need to give the FA Cup a good go.

It's good thing I had a good date today to get my mind off the ministry of silly defense.
The beach ball goal came to mind after seeing a recap of the Magpie goal.
Bye

By Spengo Go To PostWhat's the history of this song? Is there still a strong hard on for fascism in Spain like the confedrate in the US?
Good day for facists.
No idea what the stats are saying but it seems like Liverpool conceding a lot of goals from passes straight between their centre halfs
Klopp should ask Wijnaldum why he's turning away from the ball instead of trying in some way to make it difficult for Shelvey to play that pass

How can you dislike Jürgen? Guy's the definition of charismatic.
"Plays" very good football and is a fantastic manager under the right set of circumstances, too - but right now he doesn't have the proper personnel or depth to execute that job week in and week out (which to be fair is partially his own fault at a minimum).
The addition of CL to Liverpool's schedule is draining them of more energy than expected as well.
Injuries to Clyne and Lallana don't help either.
Although you could certainly question some XIs and early/late/non substitutions or their overall tactical discipline lately.
