Juventus legend Gianluigi Buffon confirms his retirement
Juventus and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has announced his plans for retirement in an interview with Sky Italia.
The 39-year-old plans on seeing out the rest of the season with Juventus and playing in Italy’s World Cup campaign next year before calling it a day.
However, there is one scenario where the World Cup-winner would continue playing with Juventus into the 2018/19 season.
“There’s no margin (to change his mind) because I’m quite convinced of the choices I’ve made,” said Buffon.
“This is my last season and I’m pretty sure of the choices I make. One or two more years wouldn’t add or take away from what I’ve already achieved.”
“The only way would be to win the Champions League. At that point, to try to win the Club World Cup.”
Juventus fell short in the Final of the UEFA Champions League last season, going down 4-1 to an unstoppable Real Madrid side.
It was the third time in Gianluigi Buffon’s career where he has lost in the Final of the UEFA Champions League.
Despite his European shortcomings, nothing changes the consensus that he is one of the greatest goalkeepers of his generation.
Gianluigi Buffon has won a multitude of club and personal accolades, most recently a spot in the FIFA FIFPro World XI and The Best FIFA Goalkeeper
Wow end of an ERA

I'm sure you'll still be there in a few years with that wage structure too.
Not gonna lie, Sunday made me jealous as fuck
I dont want a striker with great tackling stats, I want a ruthless machine who absolutely petrifies defenders
Firmino is never going to reach that level obviously, but he doesn't even get in the box for a lot of our attacks
Assuming that's a directive, it needs heavy tweaking. You can't absolve your number 9 of goalscoring ability, even if he is asked to drop deep a lot more than a normal striker, and the players around him get into the box a lot

this is arsenal we're talking about here. not some proper top club.
Pep complaining about the ball is sensational.
Is there like a rule that says if you've been involved with Barca in the last 10 years you're automatically a massive cunt.

As if I needed more reasons to hate baseball. Can't watch my Brazilslayers host Gremio in Copa Libertadores semifinal on tv since it's being preempted by the World Series. We're 0-2 in CL finals. Our league season has gone to shit and crosstown rivals Emelec in first now with a strong chance to win it. All eggs in this basket. Fucking need this.
By Ciaran Lannister Go To Postyour Totti essay was 11,000 words
That is because I had to tell people Totti was the GOAT.
Everybody already knows Buffon is :)))
Less to write about.
Yurt, since you're back, you must answer the first question on everyone's mind: what'd you think of Blade Runner 2049?
Also, Ciaran is the name of my puppy's boyfriend. This is a new development since the last time our virtual lives intersected.

By FlutterPuffs Go To PostWelcome back yurt.I would've enjoyed it much more if it weren't for the sexual allegations! All these sexual predators being outed all over the world is both depressing and gratifying isn't it? Hopefully the ones in modeling are next..
I hope you enjoyed neoGAF bursting into flames
Props to Slaent (reilo and everyone) again for being pure class and hosting all these people. Thanks so much! I'm still on vacation but running on fumessss
By Facism Go To Posthello, yurto. Thanks for asking during Vegas! (I think it was either you or Dean? Either way I love you both) I wasn't actually going to go to that festival but I was invited by (unbeknownst to me at that time) Jason Aldean!!! We were playing Craps at Cosmopolitan along with his wife for HOURS! I absolutely had no idea who he was lol (I don't think anyone did), pretty sure I even told him that I don't even like country music or something equally mortifying when he asked me. Was really scared that something happened to them so I went down asking around and looked at the list of injured to no avail. Then I saw him on the news......
By flinbad the flailer Go To PostYurt, since you're back, you must answer the first question on everyone's mind: what'd you think of Blade Runner 2049?I LOVED IT SO MUCH!!!!!!! I watched it twice!!! I kinda had to, because the first viewing was a very very late showing and I wasn't exactly sober to say the least, but you know, it actually enhanced the experience SO much :lol the surreal imagery and UNBELIEVABLE music had me tripping so haaaard. I read that n8 rated it 4.5 wheeeew, that's huge IIRC he wasn't into 1 at all. I can't find his review here?
Also, Ciaran is the name of my puppy's boyfriend. This is a new development since the last time our virtual lives intersected.
don't trust that puppy. Or send him to Kimo immediately
I think Nate's review is in the film thread. If I recall correctly, he thought the plot was shit (it is), but everything else was glorious (it is).
Seen it now three times myself. I don't do that sort of thing. Ever.

Falcao is way out in front as the Ligue Un top scorer. He's had a bad time of it trying to recover from his knee injury, but it's good seeing him regain some of the form that made him the best 9 on the planet a few years ago.

By rossonero Go To PostBuffon ending his career? End of an era indeed, will Juve go with Szceczny? The transition for #J will be an interesting one. I don't know that they currently have anyone younger with the mentality and grinta of Buffon and Chiellini. Rugani, for example, isn't there yet. Dybala certainly isn't.
Why the fuck are none of these clubs going for Chris Wilder? Mans record is fucking insane and I need that shit de-railing FAST
@Flabber not yet but I did buy beer for union workers striking in Albany! Which got me kicked out of my hotel looool
