By LFMartins86 Go To PostThe police are currently conducting searches to Benfica's stadium and the private houses of their president and a few other houses of people connected to the club.oh, is that what happened?
This is in relation to the e-mail scandal in which a commentator for Porto's channel has received copies of e-mails that imply there are suspicious talks between people connected to Benfica and people connected to the Referees Association.
I was under the impression that the e-mails were stolen from our servers. Well, not stolen really considering Olivedesportos handled our servers for years. More like forwarded to the wrong people innit.

Just such a fucking shit show.

Wouldn't it be suspicious for a club to, for no apparent reason, acquire the rights of the son of the current head of the referee board for the Portuguese Football Association.
That SOUNDS suspicious.
But is it suspicious though?
Wouldn't it be suspicious to only punish a player with a 1 match ban (for clobbering someone in the back of the head) AFTER the player hast left the league and was sold?
That SOUND suspicious.
But is it suspicious though?
Wouldn't it be suspicious too see a couple of clubs (known for their brotherly love of course) and their commentators each bring up the same talking points on a weekly-basis?
That SOUNDS suspicious.
What I really find suspicious though is that I haven't heard anybody whine about Portuguese teams not featuring Portuguese players these days.
I wonder why.

By Kidjr Go To Posthttp://www.football365.com/news/mediawatch-matthew-syed-david-james-its-time-to-say-sorryHaving read the Syed piece featured here and a few other of his articles, I think this is a ridiculous characterization. At the time of writing, what Syed said correct, was he supposed to know that the investigator would change her mind later on? He made a reasonable interpretation based on the evidence at the time, and to suggest that he was smearing Aluko is crap, since the actual article was solely concerned with Sampson. And I think Syed, a man who grew up surrounded by racist attacks for his parentage, is probably a better judge of when something can and cannot be appropriate than this writer.
Good article tbh
Just such a fucking shit show.
Not to mention that this author then makes the exact mistake he accuses Syed of doing, in not waiting for the full facts. Syed is apparently going to address the issue in his next column, but rather than wait to see what he says the author just assumes he'll dodge responsibility and "make it all about himself". Why doesn't this writer wait for the evidence? Better to get in their "psuedo hot-takes" first I suppose. Still, at least they aren't "monetising" their response by sticking it in one of their columns that they write. Oh wait.
The writer criticizes Syed for the conclusion he made: ‘Perhaps the most troubling thing of all is that so many young people are among those who rush to be vicariously offended by remarks that have not been substantiated, still less contextualised.’; only to rush in and make exactly that mistake. It's typical of the desperate modern power games where you must constantly be casting down others for their transgressions in order to make yourself appear enlightened, and fuck any kind of nuance or debate.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostThey were stolen? I thought at first Benfica said they were fake. The e-mails were stolen homeboi. Who said the e-mails were fake? Pedro Guerra? That's not Benfica, obviously. Like, hopefully, Nuno Saraiva and BdC aren't Sporting. Not yet anyway. We'll get there.
I was going to ask why Dyche would consider a move to Leicester, but I guess he's taken Burnley as far as he possibly can - and the former will offer a significantly bigger budget and larger chance to advance further up the line(s).

most people would say that you were clearly putting too much pressure on the body of the pencil that resulted in the lead snapping.
But I would just say you were unlucky.

I mean he said;
‘I don’t think the Ebola comment was inappropriate per se. Context is crucial, here.’
In what context was the ebulo context acceptable coming from a man in his position?
I agree with your other paragraphs to an extent but nah Syed was wrong for making the comment, really really wrong.
I think this will be the moment Dybala realised he needs to leave Juve.
He clocked Wojo and thought 'fuck it, this cunt won nothing with Arsenal and Roma, now he has come here and we are shit'
By Kidjr Go To PostI mean he said;I can't imagine a case where that would be appropriate, but again I would trust the opinion of someone like Syed far more than anyone else on that point, the man who experienced decades of old school British racism. At the time, the judgments from the inquiry was still that Sampson hadn't made any racist statements, so it's hardly absurd for an outside observer to assume they must have had some extra evidence which made it acceptable somehow.

More importantly, perhaps Syed is going to come out and say he got it wrong and he apologises for that? This author doesn't even give him the chance.

Because there isnt which is why I would have liked Syed to at least try and take more of a neutral stance. I mean isnt it a journalist job to investigate off their own accord. Just so many wrong points, he said the ebula comment wasn't true, which it was (it had always been true) then to double down and say it could have been trivial comment. Which between you and I we can both agree there is no context in which the statement is acceptable coming from someone in Marks position makes the whole thing worse. I feel by pushing this "it was trivial" tone it did belittles Aluko claims and did contribute to the public influencing the perception that she either lied and even wasnt like "whats the big deal". I think if you arguing what more could he have done then the answer is a lot in my opinion.

Going by the results of an internal inquiry from the FA is laughable, I'm largely sure very few people trust the outcome of internal inquiries from FIFA, UEFA, and probably the FA.

Going by the results of an internal inquiry from the FA is laughable, I'm largely sure very few people trust the outcome of internal inquiries from FIFA, UEFA, and probably the FA.That's not strictly true, rather Syed made the point that the FA was ignoring their own investigations to bow down to the whims of public opinion, which I think we can generally agree is unwise even with crap organizations like the FA - we are talking about the same public still in favour of Brexit, after all. Indeed, the vindication of Aluko is based on the same internal investigator who originally didn't find any wrongdoing, so to an extent people are trusting the outcome of an internal inquiry. I think Syed's biggest mistake is that he trusted too much in the earlier inquiry reports rather than being critical.
Wait, what happened to Wooden's asshole? Did he "accidentally" fall backwards into a cactus or something?

By Wengward Go To PostI love how Wenger is so committed to a three man backline now.
He is nuts.
He does this all the time. He gets fixated on a system that's worked in the past even when all the players that made it work conk out or lose form or just don't fit.
We would have won that Leicester league season if we didnt insist on doing shit like playing a 4231 with the ghost of Flamini.

The santi injury really cant be overstated imo, I appreciate we maybe should have had enough quality to deal it with a better manager maybe but I mean its been a season and a half on we still have no rhythm to anything we do because of him
