Eagles doing 8 in the box... not sure that will be a common thing unless Murray is in the game.
EDIT: Whelp Diggs took a knee to his back.
EDIT: Whelp Diggs took a knee to his back.
Eagles tie it on a Keenum throw up for grabs that resulted in a TAINT. Even if his arm wasn't hit, he was throwing to double coverage.
He threw 2-3 balls like that vs. the Saints and had one intercepted also. Vikes D is solid and I don't think Foles can really consistently move the offense, for that TAINT to happen is mindbogglingly frustrating for the Vikes' coaching staff. Don't turn it over and the Vikes can win.

Diggs hurting, taken two backshots.

Given the crickets in this thread since the second half began - I’d say a lot of people are doing just that.
A.J. Bouye: Patriots were goading Jaguars to commit penalties
http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/22173282/aj-bouye-jacksonville-jaguars-criticizes-officiating-afc-championship-game
http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/22173282/aj-bouye-jacksonville-jaguars-criticizes-officiating-afc-championship-game
Bouye was especially upset about Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore not being called for pass interference against receiver Dede Westbrook on a fourth-down pass late in the game, a 32-yard pass interference call against him late in the first half that set up a touchdown, and about Patriots receiver Danny Amendola not being called for head-butting safety Tashaun Gipson after a play in the third quarter.
"I was pissed because I seen Amendola head-butt the hell out of Gip in front of the ref and you all don't call nothing?" Bouye said. "It don't make no sense man; it's a lot of stuff that don't make no sense. I have a lot of respect for these people in this locker room. They kept fighting, we all kept fighting. We knew there was stuff we couldn't control, and we kept it close."
Bouye said he felt like the Patriots players were trying to goad the Jaguars into committing penalties, much like players said the Buffalo Bills players tried to do in the AFC wild-card game the Jaguars won 10-3.
The Jaguars were called for two defensive pass interference penalties against the Patriots. They had been flagged for an NFL-low five during the regular season. The Jaguars also had the NFL's least-penalized defense this season, with a total of nine penalties, accepted or declined, for defensive pass interference, defensive holding or illegal contact.
Per the NFL, the Patriots' one penalty is the fewest in a playoff game since 2011, when the Patriots were called for one in a victory over Baltimore.
…
Bouye again stressed that the officiating didn't cost the Jaguars the game, but he would prefer a level playing field.
"You all see it," Bouye said. "I got players hitting me up in the NFL saying the same thing. But at the end of the day, we can't put the blame on them. We didn't execute good enough. They executed good enough."
By Kuma Go To PostAnother tough match up for the SuperBowl against the Eagles. Why is God doing this to me. :(Your post is clownshoes...
The Philadelphia Eagles are the biggest Super Bowl underdogs since 2009.
Who was the last good quarterback the Pats faced in the playoffs? Matt Ryan is only Flacco-tier so he doesn't count.
QB play is at an all time low so it makes sense.
Bouye needs to quit whining and hold that L. Both PIs were legit. And if he mad about the pats baiting them into penalties them don't be so mentally weak.

more often than not that's going to be a PI on the defense with how its called.
By RobNBanks Go To PostThey were never gonna let it be Jags vs EaglesJags and Vikings would've been a better draw. Both teams have a inspiring story to follow there, Jags one of the worst teams sin football last year changes its ownership/coach and makes the SuperBowl, Vikes on an inspiring run with their backup FA QB hosting a Superbowl in their building (a feat no team has EVER done in the NFL)
MLS championship would get more views
Jags Vikings if like the Kings and Grizzlies made the finals. Aint nobody watching that shit. Pats give you a villain and the Eagles are a classic franchise.

I am still scared...
Also Domino, Eagles ain't no classic franchise
Kibbles, Tom had to deal with Peyton, Ben for a whole decade.
The eagles ain't classic? Theyre not successful but they're definitely classic IMO, granted it's largely by their divisional association.
And yeah the celtics do have 50 or 60 years worth national cache that the Warriors have just started to build the last 3 years. If both teams just turned the same level of dogshit tomorrow the Celtics would still get more national games than them.

THE COACHING CAROUSEL SPINS
The Tennessean reports the Titans will not retain DC Dick LeBeau.
It is not a surprise after the Titans hired ex-Texans DC Mike Vrabel to run the team. One of the best coordinators in NFL history, LeBeau did not coach elite units in his two years with the Titans, but the defense did show signs of improvement in 2017. LeBeau can clearly still coach, but it is possible the 80-year-old calls it a career.
Jets promoted QBs coach Jeremy Bates to offensive coordinator.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports they are "expected" to promote Bates, which means it is going to happen. It is a quick turnaround for Bates, who spent several years out of the league after a rocky one-year stint as Seattle's coordinator in 2010. He clearly made an impression in his first year with the Jets, however, and reportedly "had a significant role" in game-planning under ex-OC John Morton. No matter how good of a coach he is, Bates' success will hinge on the Jets' ability to find a quarterback.
Cardinals hired ex-Panthers DC Steve Wilks as head coach.
The deal has yet to be announced, but there are enough reports to make it official. Wilks has just one season of coordinating experience, but he was the assistant head coach in Carolina before that and clearly wowed the Cardinals during the interview process. Panthers LBs coach Al Holcomb is expected to join Wilks in Arizona as his defensive coordinator, and Eagles QBs coach John DeFilippo has been linked with the offensive coordinator job.
Panthers promoted DL coach Eric Washington to defensive coordinator.
The news comes from the Charlotte Observer's Jourdan Rodrigue. Washington has coached Carolina's defensive line for the last seven seasons. He was reportedly out of contract following 2017, but the Panthers worked hard to re-sign him with ex-DC Steve Wilks expected to land a head coaching job, which he eventually did in Arizona.
MMQB's Albert Breer expects the Patriots to promote LBs coach Brian Flores to defensive coordinator.
Flores had been up for the head job in Arizona but lost out to Panthers DC Steve Wilks. New England blocked Flores from interviewing for the 49ers' defensive coordinator vacancy last offseason in hopes that he would eventually succeed Matt Patricia when he moved on to a head-coaching position. With Patricia headed to the Lions, the stage is set for Flores to land his first gig as a defensive coordinator. It would be a well-deserved promotion for the 36-year-old, who has worked for the Patriots in some capacity since 2004.
The Cardinals will interview ex-Seahawks OC Darrell Bevell for their offensive coordinator vacancy on Monday night.
Former Panthers DC Steve Wilks was announced as Arizona's head coach earlier today and is moving quickly to assemble his staff. Wilks is reportedly eyeing Panthers LBs coach Al Holcomb as his defensive coordinator and now it appears Bevell is on the short list of candidates to replace OC Harold Goodwin. Bevell interviewed for a position as Atlanta's QBs coach last week but was passed over in favor of Greg Knapp. He was one of several Seahawks assistants let go at the conclusion of the 2017 campaign.
Browns hired ex-Steelers OC Todd Haley as offensive coordinator.
It took Haley less than a week to resurface after the Steelers decided to let his contract run out. Haley comes with plenty of NFL experience, but he should have done more with the talent he had in Pittsburgh and the same could probably be said of his previous stint as the offensive coordinator in Arizona. Haley's play-calling was extremely suspect in Pittsburgh's Divisional Round loss to Jacksonville and his messy relationship with Ben Roethlisberger, which eventually led to his ouster, should be taken as a red flag. In Cleveland, Haley will be tasked with getting the most out of whatever quarterback the Browns end up drafting in April.
Giants hired Vikings OC Pat Shurmur as head coach.Very good coaching mind, love the hire.
It's a five-year deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Shurmur's hiring became a foregone conclusion once the Lions and Colts snagged Patriots coordinators Matt Patricia and Josh McDaniels respectively. Shurmur did a lousy job during his previous head-coaching stint in Cleveland but rebuilt his reputation with a strong showing in Minnesota. He'll be replacing Ben McAdoo, who was fired midseason after inexplicably benching Eli Manning for Geno Smith. Shurmur is reportedly in favor of keeping Manning, though the Giants are fully expected to select a quarterback in the upcoming draft, perhaps as early as second overall. Former Raiders coach Jack Del Rio should follow Shurmur to New York as the team's defensive coordinator.
Titans fired OC Terry Robiskie.'Exotic smashmouth' is dead!
This is probably one of the biggest wins for the Titans in their move to replace Mike Mularkey with new coach Mike Vrabel. Robiskie's fate was sealed when Mularkey was canned, and it's now set in stone. Robiskie and Mularkey co-led the Titans' ancient offense that didn't work well with Marcus Mariota's skill set. 63-year-old Robiskie was a longtime WRs coach before Tennessee.
So much terrible recycling of coaches. Get some new fucking blood in there instead of hoping that a guy gets it right on the fifth try. Fucking hell.
I feel happy for Titans. How that staff kept pushing Murray over Henry when Murray was running on one leg is beyond me.
The optics of the reffing in the New England/Jacksonville game continue to look worse
Pats: "Thanks for the calls, ref!"
Pats: "Thanks for the calls, ref!"
One last RotoWorld blurb about Blake "Honeybaked Hams" Bortles
I think we can all agree that Chris Simms underestimated Blake Bortles just a tad when he ranked him the 70th-best quarterback in the league, but that doesn’t mean he has a secure future in Jacksonville. Bortles actually threw for more yards than Brady on Sunday (he outgained him 293-290) and didn’t commit a single turnover throughout his postseason run. But remember, this is the same guy who was intercepted five times in his last two regular season games and pulled a Tim Tebow by rushing for more yards than he threw in the Wild Card round against Buffalo. The reality is, even on his best day, Bortles is little more than average. And that would be fine if the Jaguars were an average team, but now that they have the league’s best defense and a budding star in Leonard Fournette, the stakes have been raised.
The Jags could probably get by with another year of Bortles under center, but if the team sees an opportunity to upgrade at quarterback this offseason—Kirk Cousins and Alex Smith should be available—Jacksonville could close the book on Bortles with minimal cap risk. Bortles’ fifth-year team option for $19.053 million is only guaranteed for injury, so the Jaguars could cut him without paying a dime of that as long as he’s off their roster by the start of the new league year (March 14).
