The Ravens basically fucked up a prime position in the draft by going 5-1 over their previous six games before last night.
Now we're dead center drafting at 16.
Nothing short of Lamar Jackson in the second can make up for what happened in the final minute against Cincy. Hopefully they go with one of the sure bet tackles in the first and stay away from any WRs since we're awful drafting them early.

Last Game of the Regular Season in Vids...
The last play of the Browns-Steelers game which clinched the Browns' 0-16 season... JESUS
I hate DeShone Kizer as a QB, but he did everything he could outside of running for the first.

Carson Palmer has announced his retirement from the NFL after 15 seasons.Sticking to the Cincinnati theme:
Palmer turned 38 last week. "Over the years, I’ve had teammates who decided to hang it up and I would ask them how they knew when it was time to walk away," Palmer said in a statement. "The answer was almost always the same: You just know. For me that time is now. Why? Quite simply, I just know." It ends a long, strange trip of a career. The 2002 Heisman Trophy winner at USC, Palmer was the No. 1 overall pick of the 2003 draft, but spent the entire year behind Jon Kitna on the bench. Palmer's career rapidly progressed after that before a devastating knee injury in the 2005-06 postseason. Palmer was never quite the same, though he was a second-team All-Pro for the Cardinals in 2015. Somewhat bizarrely, Palmer also quit on two separate organizations, forcing his way out of Cincinnati and Oakland. He finally found a home with the Birds, who are at square one as an organization without a coach or quarterback.
Bengals signed coach Marvin Lewis to a two-year extension through 2019.
After appearing to finally be on the outs after 15 years in Cincinnati, Lewis instead returns after likely winning some concessions from owner Mike Brown. Lewis had been talking as if he had to be convinced to stay, instead of vice versa. It's another strange chapter in a coaching career that's included seven trips to the postseason but zero playoff victories. Lewis can coach competent football — his teams have posted nine or more wins six times in nine years since 2009 — but at least so far, his style of play has come with a hard ceiling. There's little reason to believe the Bengals will finally find the next level in 2018
Bengals DC Paul Guenther is leaving to pursue other opportunities.
Guenther's contract is up, and will not be renewed. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Monday that Guenther is the "leading candidate" to serve as Jon Gruden's defensive boss in Oakland. Gruden's hiring isn't yet official, so it could be a while before we officially hear about Guenther's next move. The Bengals' coordinator since 2014, Guenther by and large did a strong job.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports Browns coach Hue Jackson is interested in adding ex-Bengals OC Ken Zampese to his staff.Basically, Marvin Lewis was inexplicably brought back for some reason, but most of his coordinators/staff are jumping ship.
Reporter Mary Kay Cabot believes Jackson is targeting his ex-Bengals staffmate as a position coach. Zampese has also been linked to the Broncos' QBs coach opening.
How the hell does Marvin Lewis still have a job? He’s been coaching the bengals for like 20 years now, and they were one and dones at best for like 2 seasons and mediocre af the other 18
By RobNBanks Go To PostHow the hell does Marvin Lewis still have a job? I literally don't know, I had forgot he was coaching when Kurt Warner was the Giants QB. Dude needs a god-tier O and D coordinator because he's not an X and O's guy and his players have a dirty rep. He's like the new Jeff Fisher/John Fox of the NFL.
By domino Go To Postsomebody tell me about the Chiefs. I havent seen them play since they housed the Pats.Very up and down team, Alex Smith regressed hard middle of the season. Made the playoffs but Pat Mahomes played the final game and looked good. Put it this way; short of winning a SuperBowl Pat Mahomes will be the Kansas City QB in 2018.
I'm running an renovation at the Coliseum and construction was supposed to start yesterday because when the schedule was made everyone assumed the Rams would suck and miss the playoffs. Bring on the Falcons!
Have they broken ground on the new stadium yet? I know the MLS place right next to the Coliseum is on track for opening day this spring, but I haven't been keeping up with the Rams/Charger's situation.

Yes they’ve broken ground. My company is also doing that stadium in LA as a joint venture. The company we're joint venturing with is doing the MLS stadium next to the Coliseum.

We're considering traveling for the Chargers/Ravens game next year. Want to see that smaller temp venue before they move to the permanent place.
When do they expect to open? Two more years?

The origional goal was 2019. That being said, that goal was to play the last game of the regular season at the venue. The venue per the construction schedule was never going to be complete by then though. They were going to open the first game at the stadium when it wasn't finished. They wanted to do this because the NFL sends the superbowl to a new stadium in 2 years. The NFL worked it out with the Rams and said we'll still give you the super bowl, open in 2020 and don't look like fools doing it.
When you open a new stadium, you get a SuperBowl within 5-6 years. That's just how it's done nowadays... look at the Vikings with U.S. Bank Stadium; opened in 2016, SuperBowl this year.

I think the original goal was 2021 but it's been pushed to Tampa.
The NFL is pushing hard for the SuperBowl at the Chargers' new stadium in Inglewood soon. That facility was also supposed to have offices for the NFL West Coast owners' meeting place on issues (the way the offices in NY are their East Coast area). They want to showcase all of the new buildings fast... but I can see them hedging on Las Vegas.
JJ/Clowney + fix the secondary with that O of DeShaun/Nuk/Fuller + Ellington (underrated IMHO)... Houston could be a 10-win team in 2018.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh said the team will retain OC Marty Mornhinweg.I know the O had a ton of injuries but the man doesn't have the ingenuity to make lemons out of lemonade. Hamstrung the O and marginalized its best weapon in Alex Collins. Dude needs to go.
It is music to the ears of Joe Flacco, who said his "relationship" with the coordinator "continues to grow." Mornhinweg oversaw a putrid passing offense in 2017, but he got the running game on track as the Ravens surprisingly scored the ninth-most points in the league, although the defense deserves quite a bit of credit. If the offense is going to be better moving forward, they need some help along the offensive line and at receiver.
All the mocks have the Ravens taking a WR in the first, which I'm 100% against. We've taken three in the clubs history and they've all been a waste. Good history of finding quality throughout drafts, just really, really bad at scouting and developing young WRs for whatever reason. You have to hit on your early round picks or you become the Buffalo's, Miami's or Cleveland's of the league, so I would prefer to play it smart and take one of the solid tackles that's going to be there at #16.
Deep draft for linemen, WRs and RBs actually, so taking a guy that can play week one and really contribute is the way I'd like to see Ozzie go. Though I'm not going to complain about a Bryce Love or Guice if they join either.
I'm fine with Mornhinweg too. No one is going to change Flacco at this point from being an average QB checking down to RBs or running for President of the Fuck it, I'm Going Deep Club. He's the franchise guy for at minimum two more years and probably longer. This is why I'm hoping they'll consider Lamar Jackson if available in the second to groom for a few years and see what happens. He's not more of a gamble than taking a WR in the first round.

ESPN.com - For Kraft, Brady and Belichick, is this the beginning of the end?
this is an amazing read into some of the interaction and odd moves of the Patriots this season. The biggest chunk of news I see is the trade of Jimmy G to the Niners was influenced by Kraft, who was pressured by Brady.
i dont think that piece is particularly well written, or exactly the bombshell it's positioning itself to be. i have no love for the patriots, but there isn't a lot here.
By Trey Go To Posti dont think that piece is particularly well written, or exactly the bombshell it's positioning itself to be. i have no love for the patriots, but there isn't a lot here.Half truths maybe, but there's alot of "smoke -> fire stuff"... the friction between Daniels and Brady all year, the stuff with Guerrero (which was noted 2-3 years ago), the insane trade of Jimmy G and seemingly committing to a 41 year old QB (which is a very un-Belichek move). There are too many flags/circumstantial evidence/sight evidence for me to pass it off, and if Belichek leaving New England isn't enough/both coordinators bailing isn't enough meat I don't know what more he could say.
Raiders are giving new head coach Jon Gruden a 10-year contract, the longest coaching deal in NFL history, sources tell ESPN. The deal is likely to be worth about $100 million.

LOL
Straight cash homie
Edit:
Hate to invoke it, but that ESPN, "non-hit piece" reads a lot like fake news. The only thing that I believe is the trainer stuff. That said the snake oil he's selling is working for Brady, so good for him. Wouldn't advise anyone else to get caught up in it either though.
And really, if the Patriots have been coasting through the season, that's what it looks like when I see them on the redzone, having to react as a unified front probably galvanizes just a tad bit more.

Patriots DC Matt Patricia interviewed for the Giants' head-coaching vacancy on Friday.I like that Giants are talking to BOTH Patriots coordinators.
Owner John Mara, new GM Dave Gettleman and assistant GM Kevin Abrams all made the trip to Foxboro. The Giants will interview Patriots OC Josh McDaniels before leaving town this afternoon. Patricia has also drawn interest from the Cardinals and Lions. Amid reports of a tense power struggle between Bill Belichick and star quarterback Tom Brady, this could be the year we finally see McDaniels and Patricia leave the nest.
Offensive play calling already pissing me off.

Brady looks like he has 4 more good years left at high level despite the insanity of the idea
A second for Jimmy was decent value. It's still not a lock how good he is
Blake Bortles is terrible.
Garoppolo was worth a first last year. Every situation he succeeded, it was absolutely a surprising move, I was clowning it because I felt SF might have been able to sign him outright, but it you look at the other teams after the fact who wanted him.... he was goign to get a shitton of money.

No pressure on Jimmy arriving in week 8 on a winless team. It'll be different come August but the roster can change a lot over the summer.
I didn't watch him throw a single ball this year, but we'll see what Lynch has planned.

It'll be different come August but the roster can change a lot over the summer.I wouldn't say NO pressure... it's a contract year and he went to a team with very few offensive options. That being said, he played in a system he knew well and performed in a manner where he's going to get paid by someone. There's pressure on SF to actually get some weapons to entice him to stay.
