Packers placed QB Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) on injured reserve, ending his season. If I wasn't so out of it with work recently I'd be posting a shitton about last week. Rodgers was playing only as long as Packers had a shot. The fact he's back on IR tells you how "healthy" he was.
Making his long-awaited return, Rodgers did not look like himself in last week's playoff-eliminating loss to the Panthers, tossing three interceptions for the first time since 2009. It's still baffling the Packers decided he was healthy enough for that game but not Weeks 16 and 17. Coach Mike McCarthy had expressed displeasure with how many hits Rodgers took. Now 34, Rodgers will head into the offseason having made his fewest appearances (seven) since 2007. Rodgers did not appear diminished athletically this season, but he's obviously nearing an age where that will soon become a certainty. That being said, there's still every reason to believe he will remain an elite fantasy option in 2018.
Not too surprising about Rodgers, he was brought in to save the season, going into Carolina as your first game back after not seeing game action for 8 weeks was a tall order.
The Giants will interview ESPN analyst Louis Riddick for their GM vacancy.Gettleman is the favorite but I LOVE Riddick as GM. Smart, not afraid of change to fix issues... just listen to the man on ESPN.
The interview was first hinted at by NFL Network's Kimberly Jones, then confirmed by SNY's Ralph Vacchiano. Riddick, 48, played safety in the NFL and previously held front-office positions with the Eagles and Redskins, mainly working as a scout. His interview is expected to take place on Thursday. Riddick is one of the sharpest football analysts in media today. He is vying with in-house candidate Marc Ross and current presumed favorite Dave Gettleman for the job. Giants interim GM Kevin Abrams is expected to get a token interview at some point.

Football is quiet recently, found no other real bombshells other than the JB tweet worth a mention. Also Scam Newton is a big phony, but dayum did he give it to Clay Matthews.

People just ready for the playoffs
So will the Patriots get a controversial and game-changing replay call in their favor every week or just most weeks?

and yes, Pats get cheat calls on a weekly basis.

The sport is so bad right now regarding pass interference that I don't even pay attention or watch non-Raven games.
There was a call yesterday in Dallas against Maxwell that was such a non-call I turned the channel and didn't come back. Also, both offenses are trash.

He is a beast. Dude is QB-proof in fantasy football, he uses his physical tools to wreck fools.
By friskykillface Go To PostJimmy G is godThat initially was a bad trade that has worked wonders (could've had him cheaper in FA). Niners need to fix their leaky defense and maybe get a #1 WR and they can compete.
I feel like my Dolphins are doomed to bounce between 6-10 and 9-7 forever with an occasional 10-6 with a first round playoff exit forever. Going back to the '80s, they've never managed to build a complete team down there. We can be competent in some areas, maybe even good in some, but there are always such big glaring and exploitable holes that hold the team back. It's frustrating.
Ho-lee FUCK
Giants S Landon Collins has called teammate Eli Apple a "cancer."When the leader of your defense calls a fellow teammate a cancer... that's an issue.
"There's only just one corner that … needs to grow, and we all know who that is," Collins said in a Tuesday radio interview. "(That) first pick … he's a cancer." Collins' harsh words came as he spoke glowingly about the Giants' other corners. In the doghouse essentially all season, Apple played zero snaps in the Giants' Christmas Eve loss to the Cardinals. New York's new general manager is going to have a decision on his hands with the No. 10 overall pick of the 2016 draft.
Landon... keep that shit in house. Dude spread his cheeks and took a dump on Apple.

Apple played in 14 games, starting 11 as a rookie last season. But he’s found himself either benched or just playing special teams regularly this season. For those who may not know, his family and mom have been a huge part of his life, and it seems Apple's family life is falling apart. His mom, who has been a big social media personality, has been sick for a year now. He has been a good guy in the past, and this year his play/attitude have fallen off a cliff.
He was benched again in Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals. Apple hasn’t started a game since Week 10, and he was inactive for four straight games from Week 11 until he got back on the field in Week 15.
Apple got in hot water with the team for threatening to leave the facility after he was criticized during a film breakdown session, according to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post. There were also rumors that Apple was falling out of favor with the Giants because of his conduct and attitude during practices.
He was finally fined by the Giants for tweeting during the team’s loss to the Cowboys in Week 14. Apple was inactive for the game, but league rules forbid tweeting from the sideline regardless of whether a player is active.
Apple’s mother, Annie, underwent brain surgery in November. A report from Dan Duggan of New Jersey Advanced Media suggests that there’s other family turmoil that may be shaping Apple’s recent behavior as well. Annie Apple and Eli’s stepfather, Tim Apple, divorced. The man who raised Apple from the time he was two years old is no longer a part of his life.

ESPN's Josina Anderson reports the Giants are expected to move on from CB Eli Apple this offseason.
Anderson's source said, "He will not be in an NYG uniform next year. Dude is done with NYG. Done." Apple has clashed with teammates and coaches all season and was just suspended for Sunday's regular season finale following a confrontation with CBs coach Tim Walton at Wednesday's practice. Apple's fate will be in the hands by whoever the Giants choose to replace Jerry Reese, but as of now, the 2016 first-rounder is a long shot to return next season.

Running back seems like an even more interesting proposition. The 49ers haven't committed to Carlos Hyde, who was inherited from the old regime and has been strictly competent for most of the year. Shanahan loves pass-catching backs with the patience to run a zone scheme, and there's one very significant option out there. The 49ers are one of the few teams with both the need at running back and the cap space to target Le'Veon Bell. If he doesn't come to terms with the Steelers, the Niners could very viably target Bell at a $15 million-per-year salary without squeezing their cap situation at all.
Niners weren't even committing to Hyde this year, but they were thought to be in a slow rebuild and kept Hyde until Brieda got more seasoning. Unless they decide to really speed up that timeline Bell doesn't make sense. that team needs alot, from O-Line to defensive secondary pieces before you can call them a legit playoff team in 2018. Getting a Le'veon Bell won't move the needle that much.
Bucks have one of their best offensive drives of the season, resulting in a touchdown.

thankfully this season is in the trash bin. rick smith is taking a leave of absence due to his wife having breast cancer...
smith has had to go for a while. he and the mcnair's are extremely close for better or worse. i think this is an opportunity for him to gracefully bow out of the gm role and return to the team in a different capacity when he's ready without mcnair outright firing him, because he won't do it. based on john mclain's tweet they're already looking for a new gm...

Not sure why he was fired outside of the defense tanking (supposed to be his department). This stinks of a power struggle over his head.
Raiders fired head coach Jack Del Rio.Pagano being gone makes sense, but alot of Indy's struggles need to go to Jim Irsay. Dude is fucking trash as a GM and a human being.
Signed to a four-year extension in February, Del Rio looked as safe as any coach heading into the year, but a 6-10 season in which the offense and franchise quarterback Derek Carr markedly regressed was enough for ownership to make a change. That move is understandable if Del Rio was the one who let ex-OC Bill Musgrave walk in favor of Todd Downing, but it seems harsh if that decision came from over his head. That said, the defense has struggled each of Del Rio’s three seasons in charge despite talent up front and in the secondary, and he now has just one winning season in his last seven as a head coach. For Oakland to become a consistent contender, they likely needed a change. It looks like that change will come in the form of Jon Gruden.
Colts fired head coach Chuck Pagano.
Pagano lasted six seasons as the Colts' head coach, compiling a 53-43 record but slumping to 8-8 or worse in each of his final three campaigns, including 2017's 4-12 finish. An "old-school football guy," Pagano got his teams to play hard but was a replacement-level game-day coach and hardly a standout pre-game strategist. Still a respectable football mind, Pagano should have a chance to resurface as a defensive coordinator. His background is running defenses with an emphasis on coaching secondaries.
