Patriots signed WR Kenny Britt.Sometimes I think the Pats do these things because they are bored. Kenny Britt is hot GARBAGE.
Waived by the worst team in football four days ago, Britt will try to stick to the Super Bowl-or-bust Patriots' 53-man roster. Especially while Chris Hogan (shoulder) was sidelined, the Pats were lacking depth at receiver. Hogan is back now, but another body was still needed, especially one who, in theory, can make plays on the boundary. It's an open question as to whether Britt will be able to keep his roster spot. He was checked out for the Browns, and making awful errors and few, if any, big plays. Although he will be catching passes from Tom Brady, Britt won't have any fantasy value in his new home.
By The Frankman Go To PostSometimes I think the Pats do these things because they are bored. Kenny Britt is hot GARBAGE.Yeah - it won't work out. NE comes off as over demanding of WR's in general and even after years in the system alot of WRs never seem to adjust. Signing Britt in December with little time to acclimate won't do much. My best guess is he is an very last resort insurance policy in case Hogan/Cooks can't make it for some reason.
EDIT: I forgot it is a 2 year deal, so thy might not expect much this year and hope to get something out of him next year after he has a full offseason on the team (if he even makes it that far, long shot in and of itself)
And Marcus Canon found his way to IR today too...that is a tough loss. He has become a great RT, especially in pass coverage.

Awesome game

Damn JuJu bailed em out
I talked shit to my father in law as the Steelers made their drive
It's impossible to not buy into the conspiracy surrounding the Patriots and refs. No team gets so many will-be-talked-about gifts from the refs than they do.
By domino Go To PostI hate that rule but it's not a giftI guarantee that it would be a TD for Gronk.

Well it’s always one of these three. Either they are cheating, they never play anyone or it’s the refs. By rule that’s not a TD. He lost the ball when going to the ground. Pass catcher is not a running back so he has to come down with the ball.
New England’s defense is terrible. But the Steelers D is just as bad. Would be funny if the Jags make the Super Bowl with their D and running game and Bortles. A very possible scenario at this point.
Hell, that wasn't a catch, the problem is the crossing the plane rule. That's far more confusing than not having possession of a ball that is touching the turf. When you cross, where you cross, it's all over the place.
So, who's left on the NFL Network?
Edit:
The tackling is awful in the NFL. So many bad examples today. Stop going for strips and wrap a guy up.

Late but I’m glad I don’t really follow football anymore, I would have been so pissed that the eagles were finally good then wentz goes down. My sports teams will never know success, I should become a warriors and patriots fan
Found out today when my friend texted me saying he rooted for them today (assuming he wanted the giants to lose for a better pick)

In before the new owner wants a new, taxpayer-funded, $2-billion stadium.
Casual Friday, so I best have women in jeans model for me. Also, get your finger nails done, and shave your legs while your at it.
Now give me a billion or two pls.

What I don't understand is that is the paper fit, that implies that the ball isn't up to the line. How is it a first down?

By Kibner Go To Postre: Panthers moving - I hope they don't. I hate that shit.
At the very least, new ownership would hold the city hostage. Current ownership would probably do that, too, to be honest. It's the way the league works.
As a Charlottean, I don't want to pay one dime in taxes to support the Panthers. If another city is willing to do it, be my guest. (Easy to say, since I'm not a fan of the team, though it would slightly hurt my civic pride.)
i'd be shocked if the panthers moved personally
this is the nfl though.

I left a Pelican game last week because I realized I was inching towards that kind of reaction. It's not good and is frankly scary.
I said I had more stuff to recap and I'm starting to now. Not enough is being said about how bad the Jerry Jones comment is regarding Jerry Richardson's resignation among sexual misconduct allegations:
“I’m very sad,” Jones said after the Cowboys’ win at the Oakland Raiders. “Jerry is one of the really, really, really outstanding men of football that I’ve ever met, and I really admire him. I know that he made it the old-fashioned way. He worked for it. He took what he made in a short time in pro football and turned it into a great business and then used that to get the Carolina franchise. So he’s a great story.”I did research to see if it was taken out of context or he said more afterwards. Nothing.
Eh I wouldn't expect the other long term owners to say anything different. Jerry Richardson is adored and respected in NFL circles. Even in the SI article half of it is about all the good shit he did
Lmao that fan was fired up. I've never felt that way about football, but Carolina basketball I used to have full scale meltdowns. That buzzer beater in the championship broke me though. First time I've been so devastated by an L that I just sat there in shock. Now I just kick back and chuckle when we lose and I'm pretty relaxed when we win. Life goes on.

This is what had that Steelers fan so triggered at the end:
Great explanation... but the rule sucks. It's a catch at every level of play except the NFL. They need to stop this "going to the ground"/"when is a player a runner" crap, this rule is definitely getting challenged in the offseason.

our receivers see it. our fans see it. wonder if our front office does.

That sure is something...I can get worked up but damn, that's another level. Don't know why the party size shrunk as the game went on.
