This could end up being a major issue for football/soccer.

By Kidjr Go To PostThat same player who finished 17th also went on to win the league twice for two different teams. What are you even talking about. Your comparisons were not remotely comparable and this reply is nonsensical. The expectation of spending €8m on a player by a 17th placed team is different than a 2nd place team. One has to make every purchase count, the other can take a punt.
but if thats your pov fair enough #cityfansman
The players you listed would be like if I said something like, "That's a great car" and you replied with "Well what about The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Cream and Run DMC?"

Stones was a wreck for a whole season. The only reason he wasn't dropped is because the other options were even worse.
By Cleff Go To PostKevin Doyle retires from football due to headaches caused from heading the ball. Sounds funny but it's rather serious. That's too bad. I know that people kind of laugh at it, but the US Soccer Federation (or some other governing body) is banning heading of the ball for kids up to like maybe 13 or 14 to try and prevent early concussions. It'll be interesting to see the long term changes to the sport (lots of people wearing soft helmets maybe?) over time.
By Mushroom Go To PostI thought it was 1mil not 100mil.It is. 1m for every pen they're awarded this season. It sums up.

Östersunds FK: How football's 'Culture' club wins with the help of Swan Lake performances
Didn't Southgate take his men to a military boot camp? Maybe he needs to get the English players on the cultural side a little bit more. Make them reenact the '66 win on stage to at least get them somewhat ready for the tournaments.
"For six or seven years we have focused on flexibility. Adaptability. That's extremely important; that's what we are. After the whistle it's up to the players. We find solutions."
And ÖFK's cultural performances are pulling in numbers that any leading theater would be proud of.
Over 1,500 people crowded into a local venue for ÖFK's latest performance, opened by Potter with a solo rendition of the Jämtland region's anthem.
"I'd probably say Gabriel Somi and Ronald Mukiibi are the standout singers," says assistant coach Billy Reid.
The most hesitant players were "strutting around like Mick Jagger at the end of it," according to the manager – testament to the team bonding benefits of their unconventional methods
Their next show will focus on the Sami people – an indigenous minority of the Swedish Arctic known for reindeer herding – with preparations already underway.
"It hasn't been easy but we are opening people's eyes about a minority in our own country," says Kindberg.
"We are showing the value of knowledge and that through knowledge you get understanding. "
