By Meier Go To PostYou get what you pay for.
You paid 50m for Stones. What are you talking about?
By Pele.gif Go To PostOspina having a good game.
By Barzul Go To PostYep Holding goes in the trash. Another one that didn't pan out.
Are you like this in all aspects of your life?
By Wengward Go To PostAre you like this in all aspects of your life? He's clearly not going to be an Arsenal player of note. The Chelsea final gave me hope but he hasn't had a single good performance this season, regardless of the opposition. Unless he's carrying an injury or something can't see him making it. We went through this song and dance with Chambers already.

Difference is Chambers was never even close to Holding.
It's premature for you to bin him.
He has been shit, i agree, but he's young. Give him time. He's a player playing without confidence. You can clearly see that.
By Kidjr Go To PostYou really havent watched him enough if thats your full assessment of him,I have no assessment of him to be fair. He's obviously not good enough but maybe could be? He's still young so you hate to just write him off completely. But Arsenal are a top team and his position is too important to throw him into it without seasoning. Stones came to Everton at a time when they were firmly expected to be mid table so you can blood a kid in there. They need this guy to get more experience playing every week.
By Pele.gif Go To PostDifference is Chambers was never even close to Holding.Maybe I'm just burned from the Chambers signing. I was actually hyped for Holding, but I've also seen Arsenal constantly reward stagnating youngsters with inflated contracts that then makes it hard to shift them. Best thing would probably him going on loan next summer after we've signed another CB. Heck Chelsea loaned Zouma.

By how good he looked at the end of last season, i think Wenger did the right thing keeping him here.
He would have plenty of time to play on the cups. People wouldve complained a lot if we did loan him.
I enjoyed him a lot last season, but never got into his hype train like some of you did here. I know how young players can have patchy moments. It's normal.
Resting the big guys and winning still, brilliant. Wonder what our midfield will be this weekend, probably Ramsey-Xhaka with Ozil presumably back.
By Scum Go To PostArsenal are going to win the EL.
They way the CL groups are going the Europa knockout phase is going to be really tough. Potentially Dortmund, Roma, Monaco etc dropping in there.
By Wengward Go To PostYou paid 50m for Stones. What are you talking about?City have 6 clean sheets this season out of the 8 games Stones has started. The market dictated he was a £50m player and so City paid that. Whether or not he's worth that is a bit moot -- the point was that if you buy a player for a few million, there's no reason to expect that they're either a.) good enough or b.) ready to start at a crucial position like CB. He was that price for a reason. It was a speculative buy.

He made 18 appearances last season and was excellent in the majority if not all of them.
This is the first time he's had a wobble and yes he's playing without confidence.
He's perfectly capable of making it.
Great result.
Performance was decent to average.
Bate are much worse than i thought.

What you reckon? I think it's good someone finally wrote something like this. Because every week now this lazy obsession with how much he and the rest of the squad earn continues post game.

But the idea of 3rd place CL teams in EL still pisses me off. #Fuming

This reads like a forum post on some club's fansite about 6 months before said player leaves the club.

By Bungie Go To Posthttp://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/maybe-harry-kane-its-tottenham-11254630It's certainly a very romantic notion if nothing else. I believe it's probably true to an extent as well -- he seems to love Tottenham through and through. But that doesn't mean the fact he's being underpaid or that Spurs in general should be taken to task for underpaying shouldn't be mentioned. And it certainly won't stop any time soon.

This really is the City way of looking at football.
Sad.

By Elchele Go To PostWho are you? Trump? Not really sure what you mean by this. Player prices are either driven by a release clause or what the market/selling club says they're worth. Chelsea failed to buy him for £40m, so the baseline price is obviously higher than that. It's just simple economics.
By Kidjr Go To PostSo what do you say about Kante, Alli, Veira, Wright and the list that goes on?You've listed a lot of players who are not CBs. Two players are from an entirely different era which are in no way comparable to today and one of them was a club record fee at the time. You've listed a player who went to a team who finished in 17th place whose only expectation was to survive. Honestly, these are horrible comparisons. Even Dele Alli was what, £10m I believe after the add-ons? If you sign a CM or attacking midfielder, there's far more room for error than a CB.
Wilshere is still England's best midfielder.
Can't wait for him to win another man of the match in his first game back.

It'd be nice for Wenger to finally win an European trophy....maybe he'd retire after.

I am sure Tottenham fans want this to be true. "He is different"
Probably not.
All depends on if they win trophies. Easy to stomach being severely underpaid if you are winning. No trophies and no money. Bye.
