By Meier Go To PostI did get a kick out of the Mendy tweet but obviously there is some level of truth to Castles' tweet. Even if the test hasn't happened yet, City would not be sending him to the knee specialist if they weren't concerned it was something major.Yeah, that's what I feel.
And Duncan didn't say he has a ruptured ACL.
Yeah Mendy's gone and failed a basic English comprehension test there. Fair enough given it's not his first language.
People so eager to type 'LOOOOOOOL' at Castles that they didn't even read the post Mendy was responding to.

By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostReally gone off Montella, and this might be the final nail in the coffin.I'm not his biggest fan, but in his defense what he's dealing with is pretty unprecedented. I don't recall another Serie A club going through such a rooster revolution, definitely not within a single mercato window. (Well, maybe Genoa at some point or another, but "football mikado" is basically Preziosi's modus operandi.) Which is why I'm a bit baffled by the vehemence and publicness of Milan's management reaction. Surely they should've anticipated a long(er) break-in period with ups and downs and not jump at the throat of manager and players after two loses?
By Zabojnik Go To PostWhen are we finally going to see CL matches in different time slots? Next year, was it? Could've used it today.
In a rather odd and reactionary move, Montella has fired his / Milan's athletic trainer and talked about 'starting over'. I haven't been following Milan that closely over the past few weeks, but I don't think fitness, the lack thereof, is to blame for their recent loses.
On one hand, putting the manager and the team up against the wall after a couple of bad performances might bring a positive reaction. On the other … yeah, I don't know, it kind of reeks of desperation. I'm not sure that playing under constant pressure to reach the 4th place is good for the morale and long term effectiveness. Talk about a psychological guillotine. As I see it, the kind of conviction you need for achieving important team goals must always stem from inside the team, it can't really be willed into existence from 'outside' forces.
Of course Fassone & co. might've noticed something I didn't and figured a public reprimand was the way to go. But it still feels a bit too much.
What's Milan-Slaent's take on it?
Well, Montella's excuse was that players can't play every 3 days, the formation has been changing for all the matches so far so he is shielding himself behind that. If the new atheltic trainer can make the players play every 3 days I have no complaints though, still, Montella hasn't inspired me great confidence with his late changes and insisting in putting Borini, Montolivo or Zapata in the starting 11.
It's my opinion that there should be a starting base of players, which so far we haven't seen in any of the matches played so far.
Contrary to what Shanks says I dont think Milan has "deep", we got great new players but if one gets injured (like Conti in this case) the people behind him are of a lower level, talking about Abate, Borini and even Calabria and even now Kessie has been having some off days, hopefully the rumors for the midfield will come true in January.
By Diavolo Go To PostIt's my opinion that there should be a starting base of players, which so far we haven't seen in any of the matches played so far.I'm fairly certain that Montella shares your opinion, he's just trying to see where all the pieces fit, decide who he can and can't count on. Give it time.
...I dont get those excuses, it's a problem all top clubs have. What makes Milan's problems with it special?

Well, his excuse is that they can't play every 3 days, and I'm guessing that's why he fired the athletic trainer. I really dont wanna see Borini, Montolivo or Zapata starting lol

I really dont wanna see Borini, Montolivo or Zapata starting lolThere was a bit of a controversy surrounding your athletic trainer earlier in the year already, wasn't there? Something about a vegan diet, which was later semi-debunked. They interviewed Milan's old AT Pincolini earlier today on the radio, his theory is that it might've been a power move by someone from Milan Lab. According to him, the "scientists" from Milan Lab keep interfering with the work of trainers, thinking they know better.

Haven't heard any of that anywhere and sounds really like typical italian journalism lol.
Milan Lab and the staff also got renovated this summer but really haven't anything wrong on that front.
Well, we'll probably smash Rijeka tomorrow but the next two matches should be an important sign of Montella's future, Conte will end up in Milano sooner or later though

I hope we win today. Could be the trickiest match of the group phase, but 6 points in 2 games would be such an amazing start.

Dzeko having another great season so far. I wonder if Lewy does leave Bayern if they'd try and bring Dzeko in -- he shows no signs of stopping.

Wonder if we will have the balls to replace Ribéry tho
By FlutterPuffs Go To PostRio plsDat English handicap.
The Mendy diagnosis or lack thereof is kind of bullshit. If he's done his ACL there's a simple test that any physio can perform called a drawer test. It's a pathognomonic test that boils down to flexing the foot and seeing how the knee ligament responds. If the top of the femer at the knee moves forward (like pulling out a drawer) then it's highly, highly likely there's a significant tear and major surgery is required. An MRI can further confirm and give details about the severity but the operation is the same as is the recovery time.
So it's possible that he didn't show signs of a failed drawer test or maybe didn't have crunch or grinding sensations within the knee which would indicate meniscus damage.
Meniscus would be six to eight weeks; legaments, eight to twelve months before he's training at full speed.
Regardless, it sounds like he's injured and knows it's not a simple knock.

Eh, Collin loves everything. Good writer but he gave the last fucken Transformers 4 stars
By Elchele Go To Postnah, Lewa has contract until 2021 I think. Dzeko is too old alreadyI mean, we know that Lewandowski desperately wants to leave though. He will be gone at some point before then. I did see that Wolfsburg wanted to sign Dzeko back, but I can't fathom why he would leave a club like Roma to go back there.

That sounds as reliable as DC fanboy praise. Might as well brew tea leaves in my toilet for a more accurate prediction of quality
