Texas didn't receive a single vote for top 25 and rightfully so. They'll win this week, but I can't wait for them to get embarrassed the following week by USC.

FUK TOM HERMAN YA HEARD
Things could go off the rails quickly at Texas. Urban Meyer makes some great points here.
By CBSMeyer said it drives him "insane" when coaches blame players they inherited from a previous staff.
The coach particularly took issue with Tom Herman at Texas and Will Muschamp, formerly at Florida and now at South Carolina.
Meyer pointed to a statement made Saturday by Herman (his former offensive coordinator at Ohio State) not being able to "sprinkle fairy dust" on the Longhorns team he inherited from Charlie Strong (Meyer's former defensive coordinator at Florida) following a loss to Maryland.
Meyer also said Muschamp "blamed us for Florida," referring to a perceived lack of talent left for Muschamp when Meyer departed before the 2011 season.
"C'mon man. I don't know where that came from," Meyer told CBS Sports. "It's like a new generation of excuse. [Herman] said, 'I can't rub pixie dust on this thing.' He got a dose of reality. Maryland just scored 51 points on you."
The full quote by Herman in Saturday's postgame: "If we all thought that we were going to come in here and in nine months sprinkle some fairy dust on this team and think that we've arrived then we're wrong."
"Players read that," Meyer continued.
The loss was wayyyyy worse than 10 points. UT's offense mostly looked awful too.
Something about places like Texas, UGA, and Tennessee makes it hard to win. Unrealistic expectations.

I mean really out of those only UGA has unrealistic expectations. Texas should be in the top 15 every year with the occasional exceptions. Tennessee should be in the top 25 every year with some exceptions and shouldn't be losing to Vandy. UGA fired a coach that was winning 10 games a year.
By KingGondo Go To PostSo, this has rapidly become a season of Texas schadenfreude.
tbf i'd probably skip that if i had free tickets.
Seems like South Alabama is doing well every time I change to the game, but then I change away, and when I come back there are no points for them and more points for Oklahoma State.
When I made that post it was 20-0 with South Alabama just having had a good kick return (albeit negated by penalty), an Oklahoma State player was ejected, and South Alabama got a first down and looked to be driving. Left to watch something on my DVR, came back and it's 34-0. :jnc
We're sneaky like that.
Just missed the shutout, oh well. Still a tidy performance in a weird road environment on a Friday night.

I know it was already mentioned, but tonight's prime time schedule is really a disgrace. I want to watch all of these games.
3 of the four networks are going to have nationally televised games on not including ESPN. That's moronic.

At least UGA-ND will mainly be good for lulz, and the others outside of Stanford-USC might not be close at all. I feel like Clemson and tOSU have pretty big advantages.

Disappointed that they got Eddie George as guest picker when I'm sure Maurice Clarett was available.
Somehow the most offensive thing in that photo is his button collar.
Just tuned in, but Cincy hanging with Michigan in Ann Arbor isππ½.

Watching Iowa try to come back from 2 scores down is like watching a turtle on its back try to roll over.
Oh my God I just heard the Oklahoma band play something other than Boomer Sooner IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD
kyle allen was alright, as was UH as a whole. this was the team's first game of the season, and they've been through a different start with the hurricane where they had to relocate to austin. wins a win, and ed oliver is amazing.
By KingGondo Go To PostFuuuuuck, welp. Cursed the 'ClonesIt was you!
By domino Go To PostStoops was fucking turnt in the luxury box.
I was dying
By Karl2177 Go To PostIt was you!Don't worry, you'll get your revenge later this year. We have MNC aspirations, we play you in Ames, and your QB looks like Nic Cage in Con Air. We're fucked.
WEEK 3
I for one am shocked that a Sooner would lay claim to a piece of land that isn't his.
Dammit. We're so good this year and of course OU looks even better. And even if we beat them in Stillwater we have to play them again on a neutral field later. Fuck my life.
Morning games of note:
#9 Oklahoma State @ Pittsburgh
Baylor @ Duke (every Baylor game this year is must-see for me)
Afternoon games of note:
#10 Wisconsin @ BYU
#23 Tennesse @ #24 Florida
Evening games of note:
#12 LSU @ Mississippi State
#18 Kansas State @ Vanderbilt
#3 Clemson @ #14 Louisville (GONDO's GAME OF THE WEEK)
Texas @ #4 USC (for the lulz)
Culture Clash Pac-12 vs. SEC Matchup of the Week After Dark:
Ole Miss @ Cal

You don't want to watch Tech/ASU to see if their RB gets 8 touchdowns again?
I am horribly overconfident heading into this game.
I have to admit, it's insanely impressive how KK is able to keep cranking out productive QBs.
On a related note, I'll probably be in Lubbock for the OSU-TT game. You going?

Every starting QB he's ever had has been drafted. Keenum, Manziel, Webb, Mahomes. Only "exceptions" are Mayfield and Shimonek, who are both still in college.
Strangely enough, when asked about being a first time starter as a 5th year senior, Shimonek said in the offseason that he's only sat behind draft picks, which is true; Webb and Mahomes at Tech, plus Beathard and Rudock at Iowa (Rudock ended up at Michigan).

Planning to as of now.
It's normal to see previews for our games that talk about a defense with so little depth that only about 12 guys are playing, but it's weird that they're talking about our opponent this time.
I'm strangely not worried at all about the Pitt game. Just doesn't feel like we can lose although I rationally know we can.
I'm generally pretty even-keeled (even pessimistic) on my predictions even for wins but for some reason this week I'm feeling irrationally good. Like "I only put 70 for combined points in the pick 'em because I think we win in the 56-14 range" good. We lost 68-55 last year, by the way.
I guess it's just something about being at home, having revenge on the mind, their recent struggles, etc. all coming together. We played absolutely horribly against them last season (second worst only to Iowa State) and they're in a place where their head coach could realistically be fired by Sunday if they lose big IMO. Morale versus Morale I think we're killing them right now.
