Don't care for you Blazer fans any longer :P but seriously I do feel bad for you guys and Matthews.
Injuries suck... no player, team or fan of said team deserves it.

Sucks for Matthews. Contract year too. Wonder if they resign him after this..?
It is no doubt a result of reilo's audacious trolling the past few days. Others should beware.

It seems like we're having more and more injuries Now. Mamba has an interesting theory about the game being too athletic now. But how is the game objectively more physical? That part I'm not buying. Plus practice time is dramatically reduced and sleep time has been significantly increased. I don't think it's the 82 games. Something else is at play here.
I remember Kobe got messed up a couple times and was limping that game before it happened too. At this point, anyone who starts limping in a game should be shut down.
I would really like to see a study that looks at injury disparities between teams that practice a lot and teams that don't really practice. It always seemed to me Riley's teams were healthy despite 3 hour practices and long ass minutes in games. But there's no data to support this.
Either the style of the game is more conducive to injuries as mamba suggests (which I don't fully buy) or something else is at play here.

Pretty interesting. Blaming AAU basketball, lack of practice time in the summer, low intensity workouts, horrible post game and pre game routines, crossfit,
The quotes about Lebron are particularly awesome. I know that Kobe used to stretch obsessively too. That's one of the reasons sprained ankles never used to affect him for long periods (according to him).

By dbDid the league say they're doing that to minimize back to backs or just the amount of games in general?
Personally I think back to backs are not only detrimental to the health of the players but the caliber of play you're going to see across multiple games. The time frame for some (most?) isn't even 21 hours of not playing, especially given travel and time zones.
Back to backs:
"NEW YORK — NBA Commissioner Adam Silver intends to ease the often compacted NBA scheduled in an effort to keep players at optimum health and rest.
Speaking at NBA All-Star weekend, Silver noted the number of back-to-back games and the times teams have had to play four games in five nights.
“It’s a math formula at the end of the day in terms of the number of days in the season and the number of games we play, but we think we can make a dramatic reduction there,” Silver said. “And while I don’t think we can completely eliminate four out of five nights, we hope to make tremendous progress.”
Gutted for Matthews.
Portland's still a tough out in the playoffs but I don't think their outside-shot contenders anymore. :(

Waiting for the Bulls to waste that nice victory over OKC by losing to the Pacers. You know it to be true Fertygo.

Pacers have a decent record over the past month and a half, so it won't be an easy matchup.
They beat the Cavs twice and the Warriors in that span.

Apparently Larry Bird was on radio today and said that Whiteside is his favorite player to watch.
I hope he has a strong game in the loss vs Washington tonight.

By vicThat no-call on Harden seems to cut deep with Rox fans on Twitter.
They didn't complain when he clearly pushed off against Matthews in the playoffs to gain an advantage.
If it's not going to change the outcome of the game, it really doesn't matter.
Speaking of the Grizzlies game, didn't even get a chance to watch the Blazers series.

The one time he doesn't get a call his way.
Boo. Hoo.
“Randy Wittman should be fired,” Simmons then said. “Fired right now. This minute, he should be fired. He’s a terrible coach. He just is. He’s not a good coach. He’s not good at coaching basketball. You saw it last year: they got through Round One, got to Round Two and should have beaten the Pacers, and left that series on the table. They’re the easiest team to predict what they’re doing down the stretch.”
"If you talk to any Wizards fan who just watches them, they’d drive [Wittman] to the airport," Simmons said. "You know what they’re going to do. There’s no surprise. …You can feel it with the fans. There’s nothing more depressing right now than a Wizards home game. The crowd is just sitting there like ehhh. Uhhhh. It’s just terrible. I would get rid of the coach. As we’ve discussed, I like [Ted] Leonsis, [but] I think he needs to be a little more proactive as an owner."

Now if we can just get a Woj and Lowe opinion piece maybe we'll get somewhere with this line of thought.
After we rekt tonight I'm hoping for a change.

It's too late in the year to fire Wittman. Does it make a difference this late in the season? There's not a lot of turn around time.
Who would Wizards fans want as a coach next year?

If it were up to me...Mike D'Antoni. He's not outcoaching anyone in a playoff series, but that's really the last thing we need to worry about right now.

Well on the plus side you really won't have to worry about us complaining about that if we meet again this year.

I am so afraid of that one guy and that other guy on your front-line and that other looking homeless dude you call your starting pointguard and that some other nameless backup point-guard to do... What?
•“When you play well and when you win, you have a majority of your plays are good-effort plays,” he said on Wednesday. “Our screw-ups right now [are] because of a lack of effort.”

You sure you want to throw stones in your glass house like that?

There's nothing false about what I said tho.
Perhaps the Portland Trail Blazers could’ve been an ideal scenario for Ray Allen to return to the NBA: A championship contender in a tradition-rich market losing one of the league’s best three-point shooters to a devastating injury.
Nevertheless, Tanner informed the Blazers that Allen, 39, remains intent on sitting out the season and wouldn’t consider the possibility of joining Portland – or any other team, sources told Yahoo Sports.

And when have I made fun of a player's injury?

Cool backtrack/denial now that you've been called out. All that salt from the 0.9 shot got you feeling some sort of way even damn near a year later.

They should gotten a win @ OKC and that kinda scares me.

Dude please. You were being a bitch (in fact, been one for a good 24 hours straight now going back to the Harden flop discussion) and made fun of a player's injury. Got called out, backtracked, and made me more money in ad revenue.
We cool.
