Clips defense is doing a good job not giving him these opportunities. Aldridge is smart. If he start taking dudes off the dribble or camp out in the paint, he's going to A.) turn the ball over at a higher rate or B.) kill Portland's spacing. You don't really want to force stuff, especially if the Clips are giving him the shot he likes so much.
By JonmHonest question, why was Serge Ibaka so ignored offensively? He is a 39% catch and shoot 3 point player. thats better then Dirk Nowitzki and Ryan Anderson(though he is in a bit of a slump this year) yet I feel like Westbrook ignores him for large stretches.
Most of that is just teams saying to themselves, "we're okay with Serge Ibaka scoring on us". And most teams are aware enough to take away the Russ to Ibaka pocket pass when they call for the PnR. It usually requires a few more swings of the ball to get the ball to Ibaka in an open position, and you really shouldn't trust Morrow/Waiters to make those plays.
