On a broader note. Every sequence there with the exception of a few included a maximum of two passes. Often times less. Part of the reason their pace was so damn high is because they took the first open shot, instead of passing it around passing up good shots for great shots. And people compare this to the Spurs offense?

his rebounding in his prime are right there with Magic... Magic was pretty inconsistent from year to year with boards... he ended with a 7.3 average and Kidd with a 6.3 Magic almost averaged 10 per game one year tho Kidd never came that close but did average over 8 multiple times

So IWMTB is correct, as far as I'm aware, that +/- and its derivatives (once properly stabilized, since the vanilla variants suffer from serious sample size issues) are the only widely available statistics that have a decent shot at capturing a player's overall defensive impact. What is the statistic you're thinking of that isn't based on adjusted +/- and has that property? If your point is that trying to figure out a player's defensive impact through +/- is pretty roundabout, I think basically everyone agrees with you...
Give it about two years till the new stat is placed on the pedestal
