By KingGondoBy Morislol sure you can.OK, I didn't put that as well as I could have.
My point is that everyone is acting like the reason we haven't won a title is because of the Harden trade, and the real reason is because of shit injury luck. We took Harden and turned him into Adams, McGary, and we took guys who we kept instead (Perk and Reggie) and turned them into Augustin and Kanter.
I still think if we're mostly or fully healthy we're the best team in the league.
The reason why OKC haven't won a title is because of LIL B. That curse is real.
Forty-seven percent of their opponents' shots come from the mid-range and in the lane away from the rim, the lowest percentage shots in the league.
So fucking good, yesssss.
By KingGondoBy MambaBasketball Gods did not take kindly to the Harden trade.Get out of here with that "basketball gods" stuff. Call it what it is: bad luck.
Not to rub salt on the wound, but this is exactly why you don't do what presti did. It will always haunt that team.
The team has been title contenders without Harden every years since the trade. Sure it would be nice to have him, but you can't say Presti made the wrong decision when we could have won a title any of the last three seasons and had our chances derailed by untimely injuries. The team has been retooled nicely and now has much better depth, size, and youth across the roster.
KD should be back in a week or so and Ibaka has a chance of returning by the playoffs, so I haven't given up all hope yet. I've just given up 90% of it.
If we didn't have to play the Dubs without HCA I'd be much more optimistic.*
*assuming we make the playoffs
You'd have won the title if you didn't trade Harden. Probably 2 or 3 of them.
You could have survived those injuries. Basketball Gods no like!
RIP Jack Haley. His media career got destroyed by Jerry Buss and I never muched like the guy on TV, but sad that he died.
By IWMTB19Right? Their transformation into an elite defense after being a middling one the season before at best and a really bad one two years before is astounding, considering the big changes are JJ Hickson is gone and not playing center anymore and Robin Lopez was added. It's the same five guys making this happen, for the most part.Forty-seven percent of their opponents' shots come from the mid-range and in the lane away from the rim, the lowest percentage shots in the league.

The scheme change is amazing, but JJ Hickson being gone probably could make any team's defense 6 to 7 points better though.
By IWMTB19The scheme change is amazing, but JJ Hickson being gone probably could make any team's defense 6 to 7 points better though. But they went from 26th with JJ, then replaced by Lopez to 16th in 2014, then to 3rd in 2015 without the starters changing AND Lopez/Freeland missing 2+ months of action.
anyone explain why celtics are jazz are been the best team in nba?

honestly, never understood why their D was so bad last year. I mean, any team with Mathews, Batum, LMA, and Lopez should be good on defense.
By Mambahonestly, never understood why their D was so bad last year. I mean, any team with Mathews, Batum, LMA, and Lopez should be good on defense. The article mentions that they focused heavily on transition defense this year. Last season they had the wing players crash the boards for offensive rebounds, and this year only RoLo is tasked with crashing the offensive glass and the wings are committed to running back.
Rudy Gobert spends more time on social media talking about how great he is than any Jazz player I can remember.
Not that he isn't amazing and great.

Gobert is just super cocky, he's not nearly as dumb and oblivious as Whiteside.
By rodeoclownThe Hornets also totally quit on Scott and lost in the playoffs by like 60 points. He's not a good coach, he runs antiquated systems and he definitely has a shelf life before people tune him out.
That game was the most entertaining blowout that I have ever seen in basketball.
And I am a Spurs fan and yes, I did watch their 'ship run last year.
In that game, nobody had any effs to give. Not Scott. Not CP3. Not the rest of the Hornets. Not even the commentators. It was like 1v5.

Catch the ball at the three point line and a guy closes out on you? You need to take that shit inside the arc. Take a few dribbles, get off balance, go to the congestion, then take a midrange shot that has a 1% better chance of going in while only receiving 66% of the points. That's real(tm) offensive basketball. Randy Wittman style.

classic Vlade
"I've been in basketball a long, long time and I have to say (DeMarcus Cousins is) the most talented big guy I have ever seen," Divac said Monday. "Shaq wasn't talented, he was just strong. I was talented, but I wasn't strong."
Divac went on to call O'Neal one of the most dominant players ever. O'Neal, who knocked Divac and the Kings out of the playoffs in three straight seasons from 1999-2001, is now a minority owner with the team and one of Divac's bosses.
"He always was my boss," Divac said.

By reilothe reason houston/portland spices this thread up so hard is the energy release from the morey/anti-morey collisionWhat the Blazers have built is one of the smartest defenses in the league. Witness:
As of Monday, they forced the second-most midrange shots in the league.
They rank 10th in the league in opponents' attempts at the rim.
They force the second-most attempts in the non-restricted paint area.
Forty-seven percent of their opponents' shots come from the mid-range and in the lane away from the rim, the lowest percentage shots in the league.
As more and more NBA offenses center around three-pointers, the Blazers are the best in the NBA at limiting long range shots. Portland concedes the fewest three-point attempts and has the second-lowest opponent three-point percentage.
/nods
So Wade is averaging 29 PPG on 57% shooting in the past 5 games....
...this can only mean that both his hamstrings will combust in the next couple days :(

Why?!?!
Cause he thinks Dorsey will rebound I guess.... he's a dumb fuck. Tjones didn't even face the Magic this season.

It matters cause its just fucking stupid. Tjones has been a beast lately. The only thing that makes any sense to me is if this is to get Tjones comfortable with coming off the bench and Dmo will start with Dwight... though that didn't really work well if I recall last time.
By KumaJGMCW so bad.Man, that trade deadline wrecked the Bucks. Will look absolutely ridiculous if Kidd can't unfuck MCW.
By Diprosalici think harden shoots like 10% in first halves, every time i check the boxscores he is like 0-7.
He missed a ton of easy layups :\

I refuse to believe that was the play. Refuse.
"Make sure you get it in the backcourt, and dribble for 2 seconds longer than the shot clock allows. Trust me, it's totally fine"
This is such a shitty way for a season to go. I am really at a loss of words and really I have no idea why I watch this bullshit.
