By rodeoclownThe Hornets also totally quit on Scott and lost in the playoffs by like 60 points. He's not a good coach, he runs antiquated systems and he definitely has a shelf life before people tune him out.
I'm not saying he's a good coach. I'm just saying there are a lot of middling ass crappy franchises - two in particular - that may be willing to hire him in the future.
Also, most coaches get tuned out pretty fast. There aren't 10 guys in the league that have been with their teams for more than 3 years.
And, you do know your team is being coached by Flip right? Literally the EXACT same scenario I'm talking about with Scott and the Nets/Pelicans.

By VahagnAnd, you do know your team is being coached by Flip right? Literally the EXACT same scenario I'm talking about with Scott and the Nets/Pelicans.I'm very aware of the Wolves current predicament. But Flip "leading" them to the Western Conference Finals when he had one of the best players ever, well, yeah, he should've.
But he's also a bad coach and won't work again (as a coach) after this. NBA offense has just passed him by. Flip doesn't like 3s, his offense is designed to get guys mid-range jump shots, he doesn't coach defense. He's literally running the same thing he did in the mid 90s, which, hey doesn't work well when you don't have Terrell Brandon/Sam Cassell and Kevin Garnett.
0 playoff games and 3 seasons
Already anointed as the sure fire future best player to ever play.
Flip got hired for the same reason Scott may in BKN or NO. Neither of their coaches are cutting it, and hiring an old franchise cornerstone from the glory days is a thing that NBA teams do. That's all I'm arguing.

1) First season with the Kings, Whiteside wasn't doing his rehab at all and was just kind of hanging around getting his checks
3) Gained 30-40 pounds of muscle his 2nd year, which apparently was a big surprise
4) Apparently he has ADD
5) After practice Samuel Dalembert and Pete Carril tried to teach him shot blocking techniques and Whiteside would just say "nah," and Dalembert would be like "dude it's not an option. come over here and work out" and Whiteside would say something like "Alright, I'll give you 10 reps and that's all"
6) His first training camp with the Kings he made something like 480k and inexplicably showed up the first day of camp with a $200,000 Mercedes.
7) Hassan one time was flexing and admiring himself in front of a one-way mirror and the media was on the other side laughing their asses off without Hassan realizing.
8) Jason Jones covers the Kings and follows the team. After a year and a half with the Kings, Hassan was like "Hey Jason…. so why are you always here?" and Jason's like "What do you mean?" Hassan's like "Are you a really big fan or something? Why are you at all our games?" and Boogie, who was nearby, was like "Dude… what? Come on. He's the beat writer."

Edit : wow sixers next 5 are home Detroit home knicks and road against Lakers, Kings, nuggets.
Winnable games for sure

Apparently part 3 of Simmons trade value came out, and he demoted KD to 6th behind Russ, Harden, Curry, LeBron and Davis.
The foot issue is concerning, but Curry has had more persistent injury issues throughout his career than KD, hasn't been as consistently good, plus he's (and this one blew my mind when someone pointed it out) actually close to a year OLDER than KD.

I don't know how bad KD's foot is, but I've read it's the same injury that ended Yao's career.
Curry hasn't had an ankle injury in like 2-3 seasons, I think he's fine.

I mainly posted that because I thought SLAENT might find the fact that KD is younger than Steph as interesting as I did.

Top 5 picks don't guarantee you a great player. But if your front office is smart and knows which player they want trading up can make sense.
Serge Ibaka is out 4-6 weeks. OKC is done.
Ibaka's return (if OKC can make the playoffs) will be between April 14th-28th.

Ibaka is out for 4-6 weeks after knee surgery so expect him back in ten days before he's out again two weeks after that.
Historically, picks 6-10 have been WAY better than picks 11-20 (which usually suck), but I don't know if that's just because treadmill teams suck at everything.

By KingGondoyeah, guarantee is a Word I wouldn't use really. You can greatly increase your chances of drafting a great player though. pretty much yea, treadmill teams suck at everything
there's been max players from the 2nd round in enough of the last few years to show that pretty much everything to a mid 2nd has the chance to be a valuable piece to a team, especially in a draft this deep, but its also about development. Teams that have bad GM's also have shit coaching too though.

Basketball Gods did not take kindly to the Harden trade.
Not to rub salt on the wound, but this is exactly why you don't do what presti did. It will always haunt that team.

Not to rub salt on the wound, but this is exactly why you don't do what presti did. It will always haunt that team.
The team has been title contenders without Harden every years since the trade. Sure it would be nice to have him, but you can't say Presti made the wrong decision when we could have won a title any of the last three seasons and had our chances derailed by untimely injuries. The team has been retooled nicely and now has much better depth, size, and youth across the roster.
KD should be back in a week or so and Ibaka has a chance of returning by the playoffs, so I haven't given up all hope yet. I've just given up 90% of it.
If we didn't have to play the Dubs without HCA I'd be much more optimistic.*

lol sure you can.
What the Blazers have built is one of the smartest defenses in the league. Witness:
As of Monday, they forced the second-most midrange shots in the league.
They rank 10th in the league in opponents' attempts at the rim.
They force the second-most attempts in the non-restricted paint area.
Forty-seven percent of their opponents' shots come from the mid-range and in the lane away from the rim, the lowest percentage shots in the league.
As more and more NBA offenses center around three-pointers, the Blazers are the best in the NBA at limiting long range shots. Portland concedes the fewest three-point attempts and has the second-lowest opponent three-point percentage.
/nods
By Morislol sure you can.OK, I didn't put that as well as I could have.
My point is that everyone is acting like the reason we haven't won a title is because of the Harden trade, and the real reason is because of shit injury luck. We took Harden and turned him into Adams, McGary, and we took guys who we kept instead (Perk and Reggie) and turned them into Augustin and Kanter.
I still think if we're mostly or fully healthy we're the best team in the league.
