Tanking isn't great but that is a poor argument against it..yes David Khan took Wes Johnson ...that is more of a David Khan issue than tanking in general. He would have fucked up the 11th pick with his track record too.
Relying on other teams to pass up talent is risky. Just because Indiana got Paul George at 10 doesn't mean everyone will. More often than not you get a Stauskas type prospect because you missed out by having the 10th pick.

Clarkson has a lot more potential than Marshall.
Marshall is still a decent bench pg he just wasn't getting consistent minutes with The Bucks and then pretty much became a non-factor once they got MCW who may not be as good as Marshall really.

The NBA is funny. Mike Brown got re-hired in Cleveland. Teams like to re-hire old coaches that remind them of the glory days.
And the last time I checked, Byron Scott took the Nets and the Pelicans/Hornets further in the playoffs than anyone else - at least within the last 15 or so years.
His job is safe in LA, but there's probably some team somewhere that will hire him in the future.
The Hornets also totally quit on Scott and lost in the playoffs by like 60 points. He's not a good coach, he runs antiquated systems and he definitely has a shelf life before people tune him out.
