Bargnani trade.

It won't be tanking, they'll just be bad.
Unless they shock the world and snag a premiere free agent.
By MorisBy unknownYou can still build around him but in a small window. It will take luck of course and hope you get the right players in the offseason.
It'll most likely cost NY's immediate future as well.
Its funny you say this because that damage was done during the Melo trade in 2010.
If anything Phil has been mostly active on stuff to build up the whole franchise long term. Anyhow the knicks finally got to the point where in theory they could build around Melo in FA and not sell the future to do it and it looks like that is the plan. By the time Melo is 33 the knicks will have have probably gone through 70 mil in contracts around him and that's considering if they stay under the cap. They don't need to trade an excessive amount of picks to bring people in.
By RBKBy giririsssAt this point, it's almost worth considering shutting him down this season, and trying to get everything fixed for next year.No point in doing that really, the knee is going to continue to deteriorate regardless.
Regardless of rings, Howard is a future HOF…Bynum isn't. The Philly press conference will remain in infamy though.
Dwight was the better talent, obviously. But Bynum more or less reached his pinnacle of development before injuries derailed him. Dwight will always be remembered as a guy who never really got better as the years went on.

For a guy as slow and as lumbering and unathletic as him, dude had a really polished offensive game.
By Zeus Ex MachinaBy the time Melo is 33 he could be very close to done as an all star. He'll be like dirk, because he actually has range and a post game and such. But he'll have so many miles on his legs.By MorisBy unknownYou can still build around him but in a small window. It will take luck of course and hope you get the right players in the offseason.

The damage was done to get Melo, the damage that it'll take to build around him now is waiting right there. Jose +picks....THJ+picks....are right there tempting Phil.

Dwight was a top 3 player for 3 straight years and drug some fucking terrible teams to 57 win seasons. Everyone makes the Hall of Fame who had any moments. Ralph Sampson is in the Hall of Fame.
By KumaJGNerlens Noel need to win Rookie of the Year. Just so I can rub it in people faces.Wiggins has had it on lock for a while despite being on one of the worst teams in the league. Nobody's really shined this year until the second half of the season. If Mirotic had gotten it going sooner, I think he'd have a better chance.

that still looks like the best plan the knicks could possible have this far out. Like talking about the knicks really contending is all based on guess work as is since they are currently tanking for a pick. I think they have a real chance to make the playoffs next year if they can get some second tier FA's around Melo to base a core of a team.

Noel was too asstastic at the start of the year to win it. He has had two full months of head out of the his ass solid play...

He's 3rd for the most DPoYs in history and is the only player to ever win the award in three consecutive seasons. Plz explain.

I don't see it. I mean Phil offered 1 pick and Hardaway for Dragic and we know what the suns got for him eventually and no way does any team in the league say no to a trade of Calderon and a Future first from the knicks right now for any non star player in that price range.
Phil just said:
“You get movers and franchise players from the draft,” Jackson said. “We’re rebuilding this team. You have do it that way.’’
"We know what the first-round pick is going to mean for us, but we also know we're going to build our team with free agents," Jackson said Thursday morning after the Knicks held shootaround at UCLA before their game against the Los Angeles Lakers. "A hundred and ninety players or so are going to be free agents. Not half the league, but like a third of the league is going to be free agents. So that's where our priority stands
I think trades are the last thing on his mind
Howard wont even make it into the HoF for most embarrassing moments of underage ass chasing thanks to Karl Malone.
FUCK, I could have seen my sorry ass Lakers get demolished tonight for $115 in the 2nd row but I missed out.
Hells yeah more Nic and Rolo.

By KingGondoyou ain't Portland...By psychintellectwhat the, when did ibaka hurt his knee? He's been out for a couple games with "knee soreness" but the news of his visit to NYC and a "procedure" (they're not calling it surgery) broke today.
I'm actually optimistic it could be minor, and we should still make the playoffs assuming KD returns next week… But Jesus. This has to go down as one of the worst-luck injury seasons of all-time.
Can't beat the Bowie then Oden/Roy shit.
This season with all the hand related shit. Then Wes going out for the rest. I can't. Fuck.

By IWMTB19Yo, Portland fans, Sabonis' son is playing for Gonzaga in the tourney and he's a projected first-round pick and in the range where Portland is supposed to be drafting.
thought he was coming out in 2016?
