Benzema is average yes but was crucial for Ronaldo's success, especially later on in the campaign. What Benzema does very well is he pulls/drags defenders away from Ronaldo, I'm sure you know this already. Nobody in Madrid considers Benzema a true #9, that's not our system. Benzema is one of the best link-up players in the world, there's value in that in our system.
