By Francis Go To PostPaul Joyce also claims Ox have been told to fuck off by Arsenal and that he's no longer wanted at the club.Sanchez is gone then, he won’t sign a new contract and just wait it out to get a massive sign on fee from city next year
It stems from his refusal to commit to a new deal, apparently.

“There were a lot of broken promises, a lot of dishonesty and I thought this is not what I am about...I realised from the off that it wasn’t going to happen. I was coming on against Manchester City and he [Bilic] said, ‘Where do you want to play, on the left or right?’ I thought, ‘You’ve just signed me and I’ve played on the right or behind the striker at Hull City all season’. I found it very strange. That was my debut. And every time I played I was on the left. Alarm bells were ringing right away. I don’t know why he did it. I came in as [Dimitri] Payet left and maybe it was a case of ‘you can play there’ but I’d only filled in on the left a couple of times.
“I hate that position. When you’re Scottish, you’re brought up to play anywhere. It’s fine to play for one or two games, but you need to play in your right position, especially on the back of scoring nine goals for Hull City. At that stage nobody had scored more goals for Hull or West Ham. The manager was under a lot of pressure and I later said that, out of respect, I didn’t want to go in and see him during that period. But, when I did speak to him, I said I thought he’d have known I wasn’t a left midfielder and that he must have watched me after signing me for that type of money.
“That was the conversation. His answer was basically that, when people are confident, they can play anywhere. I’ve been at teams like Hull City and Norwich City and, when you’re signed for big money, they need to play you to get value. But West Ham are signing lads on double and treble what I signed for. They’re always looking to try and invest and get the best. But, when you’ve got too many and lads aren’t playing, it’s not a good environment. People can judge my time at West Ham whatever way they want. But I know myself that, when there is a manager who knows how to get the best out of you, then it’s different – and that’s why I chose Villa. I wanted to work with Steve Bruce again.

Honestly haven't felt like this since we signed Konchesky
Even Downing felt better since I hadn't seen enough of him to know if he'd actually become good enough (he obviously hadn't)

By FortuneFaded Go To PostI still believe Ox can #makeit
If he can improve his passing, shooting, dribling, decision making, awereness and discipline i agree with you.
Ox is certainly better than no player. And if Monaco really pushed hard on a 90+m valuation then I would probably stick with Ox for 30 instead of paying that for Lemar. On their underlying stats at least the players aren't that far apart; in fact they have nearly identical xG and xA numbers from last season.
We haven't signed a player since then who I've seen a lot of, and determined that they're not very good. Even Balotelli had something about him, that elusive 'maybe he'll fulfil the early hype' feeling. The Keita news was great but doesn't fill any of the holes we have this season, and neither does Ox imo.
Yeah he's not sexy like a 80m Monaco player or something but he's definitely good, he's someone we tried to sign before and most importantly he's someone Jurgen Klopp has been watching for half a year or more. I'd much rather have Lemar if it is one or the other as we've been led to believe but Oxlaide-Chamberlain is a good player.
He'll grow under Klopp, that much is nailed on.

So we've gone from never going to sell Sanchez under any circumstances to only if we get Sterling or Aguero in exchange to alright just give us 70m and you can have him. This club is a fucking joke we won't be able to replace him in time now. No doubt we'll panic and bring somebody in who is complete dogshit that we'll be looking to sell in 12 months time but we wont be able to because no one will be able to afford their wages.
Ox isn't the best player but at least he seems the type who can thrive on a gegenpressing side.
His ability to beat a player while on the ball is underrated.

Ox is a good deal for 20-25M. A good addition for squad depth. He is neither the world's worst signing nor is he going to push someone out of the current starting eleven. But with 4 competitions you'll have injuries and fatigue Set in soon enough. Getting someone like him now instead of the winter break as part of some injury related panic buys is smart. And if it doesn't workout: he's english. You'll still be able to sell him for 15-25M. With the current ongoing price inflation, who knows? He might fail and still make a profit.

638 days to go and counting m8
There's no way we're letting Coutinho go if Ox is the only player we sign between now and tomorrow night.
If Ox doesn't show commitment and learning apprehension like Lallana did immediately, I will be

By Bold 2 in One Go To PostWe're so rich, we have to still be in for someoneWould've heard something by now tbf. I'm pretty happy with the shape of our squad. Still think we could do with another fullback a midfielder, but our squad is stronger now than it has been for year. Any signings we make now have to be ones that will immediately improve the starting 11. Bar the obvious like a Griezmann, there aren't many realistic targets out there.

Not really a good excuse for us not spending money tho is it
And we also never really spent good money while we were at CL so yeah not a good excuse at all for us

This bloke reliable for Pool?

Liverpool have shelved their interest in Thomas Lemar and are now solely focused on a deal for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Mirror Sport understands that reports the Reds are sending a team to Monaco to negotiate a deal are false and that Lemar will not be heading to Anfield.
The Reds were keen on the French international, but believe the price has gone too high, with Monaco wanting £75million.
Additionally, there was added pressure to get the deal done on Wednesday, with France facing Holland at the Stade de France on Thursday night in a World Cup qualifier.

Seems all the PSG surplus are finally escaping.
Just like GQ, I've been surprised most of this window no-one else bigger went for him. He was pretty good at Sevilla and it's only one season where he hasn't played.
WBA could get a quality player on the cheap.

Do any of you dislike other member more when the team they support doing well?.. dislike might be a strong... but a twinge of apathy/disdain in their posts.

Painful words but I'd still be ecstatic if we signed him. My word that would be a coup similar to when VDV came from Real.
Can't see it happening though.

Really underwhelmed by Ox, but he's got Klopp attributes of versatility and physicality, but also when was the last time Wenger improved a player?
