Like, the Champions have offered you the chance to compete with Victor Moses for a spot in their first team, and you turn them down because you think you can get into a Liverpool midfield that has been playing well for a while (without Coutinho now too) and that will be enhanced by £60 million Naby Keita's arrival next summer.
Oh well.
Idk then tbh. Maybe Klopp will play him in the middle then. Good luck with that, honestly.
Oh well.
By Hitch Go To PostBut this doesn't make sense either
We don't use wingers, our wide players stay high up, often beyond Firmino even and constantly drift into the middle. Ox has never shown any aptitude for what is required in that position. Staying out wide, getting up and down and knocking crosses into the box is the fullback's job, and we have 3 rightbacks who I'd expect to be better than him as well.
Really don't understand why we have any interest in signing him. He's not even particularly young, I can't see him improving a lot. If your passing and decision making is dogshit at 24, it always will be.

By Fergie Go To PostWas there ever a concrete Pool link?Yes, ox was one of the first choice players he wanted, which included Van Dijk , salah and Keita. The later 3 we’re priority over him though. Second choice to ox was Renato of Bayern
Klopp seems set on his first choices from what I've seen.
I'd be surprised if he rejected Chelsea without there being some pretty concrete interest from Liverpool.

What the fuck...
Just sell everyone at this point. Ox, Sanchez, Ozil, Theo, Mustafi I don't care. All of them must go.

Would be a decent signing with time to improve.

By Marston Go To PostYeah legit think if he puts in a real shift at WBA he could be in WC contention even. Might not start but be just behind Rose.
By Marston Go To PostBeen at the club for a decade , kind of amazing
By Wengward Go To PostOx highlights at Arsenal. The one against Burnley.
1. Milan game. Beautiful.
2. RVP getting pissed when Wenger subbed Ox off against Man U.
3. Can't remember any of his 9 goals, but I am sure one was nice.
By Marston Go To PostIn the current market, these sells seem like deals. Helps with the wage bill though.
If Ox rejected Chelsea because he wants Liverpool, I don't think he really knows where he'll play or what he'll do there. He probably just thinks after stagnating for a few years he can improve under Klopp.
Edit: just saw the second tweet, sounds as if he's been told that's where he'll go if he signs for us.
Dunno, everything seems so crazy right now. I wanna know if we're selling Coutinho, dammit. I wouldn't be too upset if we did, if Lemar replace him.

Ornstein seems to think it's because he doesn't want to play on the wing anymore.
Not sure why he thinks he wouldn't improve undee Conte.
He must have some reason to believe he may play centrally under Klopp.

He has said multiple times he wants to be like Gerrard. Yeah.....
Yeah it's not as if Alonso, Luiz, Moses etc. haven't improved, that's true. Even Fabregas seems to have taken a step up with Conte in charge.
I edited my post but yeah he probably has reason to believe he'll be played in the center at Liverpool. I think the chance of him staying at Arsenal just increased markedly with this.
Probably believe that because I don't want it to happen since it would mean a player I do want might not come.

By Oddinho Go To PostI reckon 2020 you might start seeing players not named Messi or Ronaldo winning the balloonHmm id say 2019
From a Liverpool podcast but pretty accurate criticism of Wenger's starting XI vs Liverpool:
"There isn't a single player in that Arsenal side who either doesn't think he should be playing somewhere else or doesn't think the lad next to him might not be good enough.
So, Koscielny is happy where he is, but probably doesn't have full faith in Holding next to him. Holding probably doesn't have full faith in Monreal, and Monreal is probably thinking I'd rather be left wing back than left center back here. Bellerin's left wing back and is probably thinking I'd be better at right wing back than Oxlaide-Chamberlain, Oxlaide-Chamberlain is right wing back and clearly wants to play center mid. The two center mids are both running up and down, both could do with being covered by someone else, Ozil's not a right winger and if Sanchez doesn't think he's a better center forward than Danny Welbeck I'd be absolutely amazed."

Will be disappointing if we dont make some moves before the window shuts. We have a solid squad but lack width and in the closing hours, there are some deals that could still be done.
Listening to opinions about Lemar he seems like a ready made Coutinho replacement, more and more convinced that he's a last minute attempt at filling Phil's spot.
Apparently Man U are going in on Bale. Crazy to think that Madrid loan/sell James and Bale and still have a better squad than everyone else atm.
By Mushroom Go To PostApparently Man U are going in on Bale. Crazy to think that Madrid loan/sell James and Bale and still have a better squad than everyone else atm.No chance.
By inky Go To PostNo chance. Why not? He's pretty much dropped in the pecking order. Might as well cash in.
By FortuneFaded Go To PostI heard part of the movie is set in Coventry of all places.
is a post apocalyptic movie or something?
By Mushroom Go To PostWhy not? He's pretty much dropped in the pecking order. Might as well cash in.It's true and Mou wants him, but he doesn't want to come and as far as we know Madrid officially don't want to sell, and even Zidane doesn't want him to leave. IDK if that means they are holding out for a desperate Coutinho sized bid, or they want to fuck around with us like they did with Morata, or they still want De Gea/are still salty about the fax machine or genuinely want him as a first team player. But chances look slim to none.
Chamberlain needs to get over himself he can't even get a place in our midfield which is piss poor he can't expect to go to a top four club and think he'd suddenly just be played there. If he ends up staying at Arsenal I hope we leave him in the reserves and just continually start him there a LWB, he clearly could not give a flying fuck on Sunday and he doesn't deserve to wear the shirt.
Also Liverpool are signing Keita next summer does Chamberlain really think Liverpool are going to play him at CM long term? He's so thick both of them want him as a utility player that's all his good for.

Bale is priced out of the current market. No one is going to want that deal unless it's something similar to what Bayern worked out for James.
Does a two year loan with an option to buy sound plausible for Bale in a summer when players are moving for £100m+? I don't see it and I don't see why he would want to leave.
------
Sky reporting this morning that Drinkwater has handed in a transfer request. Lol
Mahrez is also apparently on the move and isn't with the Algerian team.
Window is loopy. Bring Conte both for a cool £70-80m. Chamberlain can do one. 👐
