About the recent connection issues

As many have people have no doubt noticed, the temp forum has been having a lot of trouble lately. There's no other way to describe the problem other than... we're a lot bigger than we anticipated at this stage in the game. Two things.
1) Giri's hosting provider is dropping the ball in more ways than one.
2) We're getting much, much more traffic than we anticipated at this stage in the game.
As many have people have no doubt noticed, the temp forum has been having a lot of trouble lately. As for the hosting provider - it should improve now that we've been in contact with them regarding the matter. Worst case scenario, we simply move the temporary forum to the new server while the site is finished. Server business will be complete in the next two weeks. At that point, everything will be handled in house and these kinds of recurring issues outside of our control won't happen again.
The other thing regarding traffic load... we're a lot bigger than we anticipated at this stage in the game. So, its a great problem to have  . As part of the staff, I feel its necessary to relay that we're doing everything on our end to not only tackle the immediate issues with the temporary forum but to continue to work as efficiently as possible towards the construction of the new site.
One thing we never anticipated was the enormous continued traffic from you guys this early on. You exceeded expectations in the best way possible. So now its on us to step up and return the favor.
Thank you for your continued support.

As you may have noticed, the server switch was completed successfully yesterday, representing the first step of our migration to the new forums. We are now on a new box with plenty of resources and (more importantly) a different hosting provider and we do not anticipate anything like the systematic interruptions of service we were experiencing before.
I just wanted to take this opportunity to call out Netregistry, our old hosting service. They went down repeatedly for extended intervals, ignored requests for explanation and assistance, and offered no indication that they cared about or understood the problems we were having. I certainly understand that hardware and software can have issues, and I know that it can be difficult to satisfy uptime expectations for every customer. However, this was unacceptable, a repeated pattern, and we were not offered any sort of remuneration for downtime that was completely their responsibility. If you know anyone who is looking into a shared hosting provider and is considering Netregistry, please link them to this post. Between their unprofessional conduct, the lousy quality of service they provide, and the existence of many vastly superior options, there is no reason to waste your time with them or their "support."
