Signing Rodriguez would be great provided we get Lukaku in as well. Would round off the team well and strengthen the areas we need to. A disturbingly competent level of planning seems to have gone into this transfer window.

Think James linking up with the Vacuous One would be reasonably tasty.

Not my ideal candidate but it's a fuck loads better idea than Matic.

I still don't rate him that much, mediocre passer... Good enough at everything else I suppose, but I can't help but feel Utd could do better. Also he has that dullard dumb Tottenham face. 0/10 would not fuck.

Who would you go for realistically?

pay through the nose for Jorginho. he'd be a good foil for Pogba aswell.
By Laboured Go To PostSo what we saying about Eric Dier lads?I don't mind. I think he could do well in the limited role Mou has in mind, and has experience transitioning from DM to CB on the fly already. It was alway going to be hard finding a Carrick replacement.

Lovely passer but would he be able to handle the physical demands of a Mou midfield?

I think so. He has pretty good stamina fwiw, and can play a box to box role. really versatile midfielder. sad we never went in for him for real.
TBH, i would be more worried about James not being able to deliver in that regard...

Problem with James is he's ideally a no. 10 and we play best without one. In a 3 man midfield, then yeah, as you say, he'd struggle.

£50 million tho? I think I'd be ok with that.
Swerve on Dier, just not worth getting into buying a player from Spurs unless they're truly exceptional.
Also don't think he is the right kind of player. I still think we need a true Carrick replacement - as in a deep lying playmaker to set the tempo. Pogba can't do that.
But all the players were linked to suggests that's not Mourinho's plan.
Also I think we actually need two CMs - Pogba, Herrera, two others - Fellaini is shit and Carrick on his last legs. But I guess one this summer and then another next year.
We're so light in attack aswell. Currently we have two strikers and 4 attacking mids. Therefore I have decided that James is essential.

It's not going to happen. We'd have to sign two players to replace him due to his versatility and Winks and Dembele are recovering from surgeries, it would be weakening the team way too much. Selling Walker is one thing. Selling two defenders from the best defence in the league is foolishness. We have enough trouble signing players as it is.
By Laboured Go To PostThink James linking up with the Vacuous One would be reasonably tasty. It'd be great. Signing a creative 10 to complement your new striker. Shows a level of joined up thinking we haven't seen since Ferguson retired.

We've been desperately trying to claw our way into the CL every season except for 13/14 since 08/09.
I want proper European nights to be a regular occurrence at Anfield again, not second rate ones against Rubin Kazan and Bordeaux.
Anyone who thinks being in the CL is an unfortunate by-product of being in the CL can do one. We're highly unlikely to turn a lack of European football into a title challenge, so fuck it. Let's just enjoy it while we're in it. If we don't increase the squad to cope better with the challenges of domestic and European campaigns, its our own fault, an issue that can be avoided.
If it was a question of EL or no Europe at all, I'd still choose the former but nowhere near as vehemently.

Fuck Verrati. Fuck players who sign new contracts for the big payday and then a year later are crying for a transfer.
A player who still has a year to 'play' with absolutely no experience of identidying players is gonna head up out youth academy.
Arsenal fans be excited for Mert to stick around.
Won't make a difference as our academy is pure shit.
You know what, Arsenal deserves the misery because 99.999999999%of the fanbase is full of idiots. The rest is me.

I dont want James. Not that I dont think he's good (he is) but I'd rather it was Pogba that rampages forward.
A deep lying playmaker would be sweet. Fabinho, Jorginho, anyone.

Don't really know what the idea is behind it, can't see any advantage for the club. Klopp must think he's destined to be bloody brilliant.

we're going to continue to look elsewhere for first team players anyway like we always have so it doesn't matter really.

And that is why I am so annoyed with Arsenal. Not all, but a lot of the fanbsass just settle for things.
You know, Jens appointment was predictable.
A couple of months ago he basically said who the fuck was Allegri ,and he and every manger in Serie A are shit because they only do it there(Conte says hi).
Now he has a job. All you got to do is say something nice and Wenger will bend over backwards. He craves love.
