Yesterday's Bradley Lowery news got me thinking. I can't remember if I mentioned it last year, at the very least I know I wanted to. Every December a Dutch radio station hosts a fundraising event for the Red Cross. It's called Serious Requests and this is how it works: three radio DJs are locked up for six days in a glass house. The DJs are on a juice fast the entire time. This glass house is placed on a market square in the centre of a large City in the Netherlands. They're on the air for the entirety of the event. In addition to radio the event is also shown on TV and there is a livestream. By donating money you get the opportunity to request a song. They also auction of items donated by celebs and the Dutch government and companies usually donate a large amount of money as well. I believe this format has been adopter by other countries, I know they're doing something similar in Belgium. Over the years it's proven to be a very successful event and each year millions are donated to charity. Now last year something special happened, this is how it ties back to Bradley Lowery. The six-year-old Tijn went along with his dad to the glass house in Breda. Tijn suffered from terminal brainstem glioma. He wanted to raise €100 by painting people's nails. Like the ice bucket challenge this took just took off online. He was invited in the glass house and they cut a hole in one of the windows for people to stick their hand through so Tijn could paint their nails. By the end of Serious Request four days later, €2.5m had been raised in his name and another 1m has been raised since, unrelated to Serious Request. In total over €9m was donated to the Red Cross by Serious Request.
So yesterday when I read about Bradley I started to wonder how Tijn was doing. Today I woke up to the news that he had passed away. :(
RIP little guy

By Laboured Go To PostReally good appointment I'm glad to see he's sticking with the club, it was a shame to see Arteta leave when he retired.

By Willkiller Go To PostIn all comps, not the leagueI don't get why the other goals (champions fucking league) don't count all of a sudden
to suit their dumb argument I guess
anyway 15 goals in 26 league games is almost 60%, which is not bad, especially for a player third in the pecking order I think.

Verratti's agent is bold for this
"Barcelona targeted Verratti for a year or so. But the situation has become so toxic now, specially in France. Marco does not speak, you know, it’s usual for a player to keep quiet, while his agent deals with all. I am his agent. The amount of insult we are getting, from Twitter, T, Radio, news.. like ‘Traitor’, ‘Mercenary’ etc. which is very sad. I would like to highlight that we are not in any way ungrateful to PSG. We will always be grateful towards the club for what they have given us until now. You people think Marco does not respect his club and his contract. Of course he does, like anyone else. But wouldn’t you say an interest from a club like FC Barcelona is flattering for him? He is 24, a prime age, and he wants to build his future in Barcelona as for he knows, he is capable of becoming one of their best. PSG wants to build a champion team surrounding Verratti, finally capable of winning titles. But they say that every year. They want to buy players like Mbappe for up to €150 millions. But at the moment, you and I very well know, no player who wants to dream of winning Champions League, wants to join PSG. This club basically belongs to Qatar and it’s premier, Khalifa Hamad Al-Thani. They have unlimited resources. Not selling Verratti to a rival club like Barcelona, has become a matter of pride for them. You know what Nasser Al-Khelaifi told me? ‘Verratti has a contract until 2021, I would never sell him. I want to build team around him. If I end up selling him now, I play my place. They in Qatar would never forgive me.’ The PSG management has told me that selling Verratti to another club would be like selling Totti somewhere else from Roma. I will soon meet the director Henrique and Al-Khelaifi to tell them that Marco is strong enough to be unfazed by all the criticisms and rumors. He will also soon meet Unai Emery to see what are the plans, are we truly capable of winning, and let’s see where it goes.”

Got a bit emotional reading that bit from Per. Happy he was able to give us one great performance before he left when we needed him most.

Liverpool’s highly-rated teenager Trent Alexander-Arnold is in talks on a new contract just months after signing a five-year deal.Odd
The move reflects the regard which Liverpool hold for the 18-year-old, who is expected to challenge Nathaniel Clyne for more playing time in the coming campaign.
Alexander-Arnold agreed his last deal in November 2016 which tied him to Anfield until 2021, but since then his performances have stepped up again and he finished last season with 12 appearances to his name. His full Premier League debut came at Old Trafford in a 1-1 draw with Manchester United back in January.

I dunno what a DBS check is but plenty of footballers with shady pasts have gone on to coaching. Duncan Ferguson is at Everton currently and he has done time.
By Laboured Go To PostIt really irks me how much Madrid try to milk this guy for like he's the best thing since sliced bread. He's very obviously surplus to requirements yet they ask for insane fees. Lukaku at 75m + addons is certainly worth more that whatever Man Utd would've needed to pay to land him.
From that ASsport article;
At the moment, Madrid find themselves in the ideal position of having both Chelsea and Manchester United fighting for Morata. That competition increases his value. Yet if United turn their attention to other targets, leaving Chelsea as the only interested party, Morata’s value could plummet below the €75m that United are currently willing to part with.
Morata’s representatives were yesterday trying to fix a situation that had not gone as they planned.

On a serious note, would Liverpool fans prefer to be in only the PL this season and make a good fist of it with minimal games?

High demand, low supply, desperate trash premier league teams.
I'd do the same.

Not a Liverpool fan obv, but either way they're unlinkely to win the league, so I don't see why you'd turn down those wonderful CL nights.
