Spurs apparently "only" offered 25M€ for Adrien, West Brom went in with 27M€ but Adrien doesn't want WBA.
By Vivalapizza Go To PostThe logistics of the pre sesosn tour are irrelevant. It was a tongue in cheek post but this kind of thing proves my point. Mourinho can moan all he likes - and he should - but Woodward delivering the players on day 1 is one piece of the puzzle. He did a perfect job last summer and what did Mourinho do with it?
He won the first 4 games of the season until the City game, at which point Miki gave up and had to be given a special process to win confidence back. Then Mou spent the rest of the season getting rid of the deadwood previous managers left him and phasing players like Rooney out without losing the dressing room, and ultimately his 4 signings were all instrumental in winning 3 trophies.
That's what he did.
By GQman2121 Go To PostAre Juve close to signing Danilo or what?Yes. Alex Sandro demanded it, we couldn't say no.

Man Utd have an insane amount of money
Why would selling clubs do anything other than drag the process out until man utd pay the full amount
Being both rich and beholden to financially responsible owners probably lengthens negotiations if anything

By Vivalapizza Go To PostIbrahimovic was signed on July 1. He joined up when he did because that was the decision Mourinho and he took.
Pogba was signed as soon as was possible after his holiday. He didn't spend a day with Juventus.
Both deals were done as quickly as possible. The summer tournament meant they didn't get a full pre season - but neither did most players across the league.

He won you the Europa League and League cup?
I mean Man utd were so far behind others it was always going to take two seasons before any reasonable judgement can be passed.
And also can I say I told you so about Mahrez.
I know many others arnt but I for one am ECSTATIC about Mahrez. Really think he just wants play on a bigger platform and will use us to showcase his talents until barc/rm come knocking. Geniuenly believe in my heart he is going to be insane should we get him.
I base this off nothing other than hunch

Still doesnt change the fact that we really need the players early this season so our manager can work better to integrate them into the squad.
Any team can benefit out of this, we can argue on and on about if Mou is the right manager for United, if he's outdated in terms of tactics etc. Doesnt change the fact that getting players in early can help out any team.
Honestly bring me Mahrez, keep sanchez and we're already at new levels. Bring a CM and bring the title.
By Hitch Go To PostI love how inky skirts around mourinhos role in the temporary banishment of Miki
By Kidjr Go To PostHe won you the Europa League and League cup?So to be clear - the point im making is in relation to the idea that unless players are signed quickly, performances will suffer. We signed players quickly last year and the first 3 months of our season were very poor. Mourinho did not take advantage of that and it took him a long time to figure out what his best team and preferred formation should be. People, including Mourinho, will no doubt blame Woodward for not delivering players quickly if it comes to that and that might be a fair criticism, but that excuse only goes so far.

I disagree with the idea that United had a long way to catchup. Mourinho placed lower than Van Gaal did in either of his seasons and imo Mourinho had a better squad of players.
I'm not sure what really went on with Mkhi at that point lol. Maybe after Mou leaves we will get the true story behind what happened during and after that City game.

Not enthused. Was mediocre last season. 1 good season in England. Lemar 5 years younger and looked more comfortable at European level.

I dont want to leave anything to chance. Sure, Mou might blame Woody if he doesnt get his players in due time but this is not what I care about. What I want, is so we can get the transfers done quicker in hopes that this will help kickstart our season in the best condition.
Not to mention there's no pre-season tournaments this year so if we get them, they can start training into the first team as soon as possible, unlike with last year.

Ask yourself this, who do you think carry's more of a threat down the right. Theo fucking Walcott or Mahrez?

I've secretly been harboring hopes Arsenal went for N'Zoni as well, just makes so much sense.
Yeah, some of you are drinking the Mouyes kool-aid. Most of us expected United to be a contender for the title last year.

Mou asked for four players and he got all four of them last season.
and one of them was the most expensive signing in the history of football
Woodward delivered.

I'm probably the biggest defender of Woodward in this thread. I think he's great.
Still doesnt change the fact that it's bad that we havent gotten 3 of our signings yet after a month.

Theres still time, but frankly if we get in 3 first team players with no preseason that is unforgiveable, we are already behind the teams above us in terms of team synergy and play style, this pre-season was needed to get the right message across and if we are still bedding in players come October then we could already be in a shit position.

You don't sign mourinho, Ibra, the best player in Germany and the most expensive player of all time without expecting a title challenge in a shit league
I need to see the reciepts but I feel like a few/most people expected top four as a minimum and challenge this year.
I expected United to challenge for the title last year.
Then three months in expected City to win it.
Turns out Pep and Mou were false prophets, leading Manchester away from the light.

Incredible how of a nothing club Everton are these days.
They were better than Tottenham 5 years or so ago, now look at them, barely getting into the top 10.

Walcott isn't very good... and he still got more goals last season despite playing 10 fewer games.
I don't want either of them.
im ok with mahrez
he's an upgrade over theo (good since Ox is leaving too/has decided his position is CM for some reason) and a proven PL title winner
but i dont see any news over a Cazorla replacement which is worrying

City have posted 2 different lists of notable/memorable signings in our history in the last 2 hours. Surely there's an announcement coming. Surely.
Please God announce some more players

Mahrez is is a much more versatile player than Walcott but since you already have Walcott, Mahrez seems kind of a pointless signing that doesn't really improve Arsenal.
One seasoned removed as player of the year and Walcott is being mentioned. I don't understand that at all.
