Can we not turn this into a shit on the Knicks thread? Keep that in the main OT.
Wait, talking about a player with a history of being a fuckwit is shitting on the Knicks?
It has nothing to do with JR Smith. The general tone tends to shift in the direction of pointless Knick shit talking, which I've always been okay with, it just has nothing to do with the thread.
Pretty sure people have made points, besides PI above me..

he posted solid news directly related Knicks basketball and with JR shitty past how can you not laugh at that? lol

Pretty sure it was to try and bypass the normal LOLKNICKS reactions in the NBA thread. Pointless if you ask me (read the first reply of the thread).

Now that Lebron is out of Miami, Knicks fans can rightfully take back their So Sensitive crown.Sensitive? Maybe, but not any less true. That's like going to the Houston thread and only posting stuff like "Dwight Howard sucks" or "Harden is terrible" posts--
...
nvm.

p. sure Lakers fans have owned that for a while
Travis Wear made the team.
Outlaw waived. :D
outlaw was traded for a second rounder and a second rounder swap :?
Also on another note if Klay and Kwahi make it to the open market I wonder if the knicks maybe bid for them in 2015 and try to use that extra 2016 cap money to get a big in 2016 like Noah or something... its food for thought.
Travis Wear made the team.Going to D-League. I'd be stunned if he actually made the roster.

Earlier report I read said they waived him.

But yeah, clearly it got that wrong. Poor choice of words perhaps from the writer.

yeah it looks like they got the trade storyline later.
Part of me is like "shit they traded a second rounder" but honestly it was to sign a guy who deserved it I cant fault Dolan (honestly since phil came along I've hated that guy a lot less....weird) for wanting to save some 2 million, especially when if necessary that 2 million will be used to buy 2nd rounders in the future.
I don't know what happened during this game. It started off fine...but they couldn't get Melo going.
Also, why start Larkin? Prigioni is much better and brings a better defensive presence. It seemed like Fisher was trying to take a page out of the book of Pop by getting the whole team involved and distributing minutes. But this team isn't deep enough to pull that off.

I figure they didn't start Prig for 2 reasons.
1) to give shane a chance to earn that extension.....he didn't.... at all
2) Calderon might not play tomorrow so Prigi might have to log heavy minutes in a back to back anyway so if shane didn't shit the bed even better.
This is why learning the triangle will take months. It's not so much learning the system, it's learning when to score/break the Triangle. Carmelo was looking good but kept trying to facilitate. JR and THJr. didn't know when to score, and those are the guys who need to be gunners. They're thinking too much and Carmelo is trying to get people involved, but it's going to take time and patience.
EDIT:
EDIT:
Jose Calderon (calf) is expected to miss 2-3 weeks.FAACCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!
An MRI confirmed the injury. Deemed ready to go just before the opening tip on Wednesday, Calderon was a last-minute scratch, and he'll now miss at least two weeks. Without Calderon, the Knicks will rely on Shane Larkin and Pablo Prigioni at point guard.
I liked a lot about today's game. Besides the energy level being high, I actually thought the mixture of playing some one-on-one isolation and triangle offense threw off the Cavs defense a lot, it allowed for some fantastic looks for us.
And damn Melo putting that shot in LeBron's face...so good.

Also one thing I took from the game was Fisher played a lot of defenders heavy minutes. I am hoping this is a sign that if you don't play defense you don't get minutes.

I am hoping this is a sign that if you don't play defense you don't get minutes.Dalembert had a mini-calf injury, which is why we saw Aldrich I think (and maybe Wear). I'll keep saying it though; start Jason Smith at PF, perfect fit for the Triangle as he has a lethal jumper in the post. Can also rebound well and he's not afraid to punch a dude in the throat, I respect that.
Jason Smith is our best PF. if he's not starting by the 10th game then either Fisher is a moron or we're trying to tank.

I think Fisher is still trying to see who works best with who.
Phil ain't about that tank though, I think he and Fisher have too much pride.

Honestly, between the pre-season and these first 3 games, Fisher has been showing some amazing chops. I feel like we have a veteran coach on the team, as opposed to a rookie who was in the playoffs just last year. And yeah, that article highlights exactly what he's doing right and what others did wrong. JR has definitely been more hesitant to take bad shots, thus far.
And I hope people stop the tank talk, this team said from day one they are aiming for the playoffs. They know the finals aren't realistic, but they are looking to hit playoff contention and build off of what.

Agreed. There's not a Duncan/Hakeem/LeBron type player available. We might as well do the best we can now and make trades/draft smart to improve our roster.
If you're gonna tank it's gotta be a commitment like Philly so you get a young core that can grow together. Kind of like what the Thunder had before they let Harden go and killed their team

There's most likely not a top 10/20 all time talent this draft but you can't push off rebuilding because of that. A Rook won't keep you from being terrible anyway no matter how talented.
Putting off rebuilding is a fool's move.
Someone asked Fisher why does the team resort to ISO sometimes instead of sticking to the triangle.
And Fisher said that's for the team to know internally, and for everyone else to figure it out that he wasn't going to go into details about that.
So it does seem like what we've been seeing, that mixture of triangle and ISO-ball to throw off the defense a bit is intentional.

If they traded a buch of the younger players for old vet guys or mothballed yeah they'd be putting off rebuilding. They're just playing their guys and trying to get the O working. It's interesting that Fisher has directly challenged the rooks to step up, he obviouslt wants them to be involved.

This team is hot garbage. I'd rather them tank and get high draft pick but it's The Knicks and nice things don't happen to us Knicks fans.

I thought Fisher was tanking?

I like to think this is the influence of all the assistant coaches Fisher brought with him from the Thunder. For all the Thunder's coaching staffs flaw the one thing they are the best at in the league currently is developing young talent.
By the 10th game, this team needs a core starting line up with only one change made...alternating centers between Amare and Dalembert. And occasionally giving Acy the start too.

Larkin has been barely passable.
I don't even know if I should watch tonight…this was me last game:
I'm beginning to think I'm bad luck and I should stop watching.
I'm beginning to think I'm bad luck and I should stop watching.Trust me, they gonna lose regardless. Why not watch and enjoy the progression of Shump/THardJr./Early?

Mostly Shump, I really like how he's been playing lately.
Poor Melo was sent to the Fisher Triangle and was never heard from again.
Melo finally learned how to be good the last two years and then Fisher poisoned him back to what he used to be.
In honor of the Knicks' bottom 5 defense, we decided that we didn't need to put up as much effort in order to win the game.
The Knicks have six super easy games coming up so we'll probably be able to tell how bad they are exactly within the next two weeks.

Early fucking sucks. He has no ability to adapt to a new kind of game. Did no one on the Knick staff explain to him the differences between college and pro ball?
Hardaway is also lousy.

Yeah seriously. Early is 5 years older than Kobe was.
And he had 4 years of college ball...dude needs to shape the fuck up.
Fuck the Knicks

First ... Kobe and Early shouldn't be talked about together.
But to be fair age isn't the only factor to a player adjusting to the pros
