26 mins and 6RBs isn't so bad at all, imo, he'll have room for growth. Last year, Chandler averaged 9.6 at over 30 mins played. With absolutely no ball handling ability, range, or FT% numbers anywhere as high.
Like you said, though, he should fit in well.

You know what.... I been thinking about it and the knicks will make the playoffs. I am so sure ......
Who wants to do the avi bet? In fact I'll make a secondary bet with whoever whoever takes the first bet that the knicks are a higher seed then the God Damn Heat.I got faith in Phil Jackson and the triangle to have the whole God Damn East on Notice by playoff time.
Because lets be h9nest Talent isn't the East problem, a lack of coordinated discipline is the East problem. When you got jR Smith saying "I'm sorry" you know he is going to produce and the knicks won 54 games with just Melo and JR actually putting 8n effort.

Nah there are a lot of "fuck the Knicks" believers on this forum. I know this becausr we're all from that other hypocritical board. So I'm enough of a knick fan to take the risk of a embarassing avi next year. Which Knick hater is confidant enough to take this bet?

ok your on. Lets say the winner has to choose the losers avi for the whole playoffs. Anything NBA related and it can't be NSFW.
My original Bet offer still stands if anyone wants to take it.
No takers on the playoff bet? If I was a Knick-hater, even I wouldn't take that bet. They're going to make the playoffs this year easily. The hating is pretty out of control. I'm not saying they're going to be this amazing team, but they had a terrible fluke of a season with everything imaginable going wrong.
Imo, they will win 45+

>Melo has his best statistical season ever and only misses 5 games.
>Everything imaginable went wrong
Felton becoming terrible again was kind of predictable, JR Smith being terrible and Chandler breaking down were less so, but JR is still JR and Chandler is an injury-prone 7'1" guy who was in his 12th season. This year's Knicks are going to be down there with Utah and LAL as the worst defensive team in the NBA (A frontcourt of Melo, Early, Bargs, Amare, and Sammy protecting a backcourt of Jose, JR, Hardaway, Prigs, and Shump, come on) and that's hard to overcome when you only have two guys who are assuredly going to be good at offense this year.

but the knicks' defense might be legendarily bad this season.
whole playoff only? I want it last before 2015-2016 tip-off, deal?
Nah man, I'm trying to get some more bets with other haters. A triumvirate
1 playoff avi bet
one bet for the off season between the playoffs and FA
and one for FA to tip off
I have to maximize my possible returns based on the risk
Hey Masud where's that Amare Body Avi from Gaf?
Lol its on my pc somewhere I'll put it up later
Great!

Melo had his best season because he was picking up the slack of his shitheaded teammates, scoring more because JR and Felton forgot how to. And rebounding more because Chandler would rather look at the ball and not catch it.
Defensively, I've seen worse teams shape up into solid defending rosters after a big coaching change and managerial shake up. So it remains to be seen how the defense will play itself out.
Last year the Knicks allowed 99.4 points per game. Chicago and Indiana were 91.8 and 92.3. Chicago and Indy were #1 and #2. Knicks were #8. Defensively, we were the 8th best team in the whole league.
People talk about how inept the team defense was. But fail to actually look at the stats. It was our offense that was awful, 20th in the league. 98.6PPG. That's a differential of less than 1 point. Need I remind everyone how many of our games started or ended with blow outs where the Knicks tried to woefully fight their way back or lose enormous leads? A huge chunk of the games lost last season and won last season were down to the wire.
If you guys don't think the changes made this off season and the new offense on the floor is going to be a differentiator of 1 point, at bare minimum, then I don't know what else I can say.

you're looking at the wrong stat breh. Look at defensive efficiency.
Knicks were the 24th worst team in the league on defense. The reason why the Knicks allowed 98.6 PPG was because the Knicks played at the second slowest pace in the entire league, not that many possessions so not that many points.
8th best team defensively LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO
People talk about how inept the team defense was. But fail to actually look at the statsholy fuck im dead
You can start dissecting it ten different ways. I don't like looking at defensive efficiency ratings, personally when it comes to a season as a whole. I look at the overall picture, for a cut-and-dry one; how many points were given up and what were the average differentials in games lost. To me it's just that clear cut, and actually watching the games it always was all throughout the season. The defense was fine (even if you want to say it was because of the pace), the offense was a one-man show and the stats show that. There's no two ways around that, we had two of our main offensive players shooting career lows and shooting us out of games (JR and Felton), a 7-foot Italian who was told it was okay to shoot 3s, a guard who kept going in and out of slumps (Shump), and a rookie who was pretty much our #2 next to Melo.
Efficiency ratings don't show you everything. Because I reiterate, despite all of that we lost our games by an average of less than 1 point. Our defense wasn't the problem last year, our offense was. If you watched the games, you'd know what the hell I'm actually saying and not just pointlessly trolling in a Knick thread like a butthurt Miami fan. Take it easy.

The defense was fine (even if you want to say it was because of the pace)the defense was fine? the same defense that allowed 107 points per 100 possessions?
The same defense that allowed 25 trips to the line per game?
The same defense that allows opposing offenses to shoot 46% from the field and fucking 37% from three?
The same Knicks that played Carmelo,Amare,Bargs,Felton,JR and Hardaway Jr? Those are some of the worst or laziest defenders in the league and a broken Chandler trying to protect the rim yet the defense was fine?
lol ok man keep looking at ppg
the offense was a one-man show and the stats show that.Melo carried the Knicks into the lottery yes but I want to know which stats you're looking at.let me guess, ppg?
New York's offense was average, you're making it seem like a bottom 10 offense. Which they are not.
Maybe you won't listen to me, look at this article maybe, here's an exerpt:
If you used raw points allowed per game, as Woodson reportedly prefers, you'd find that the Knicks indeed have a defense that ranks in the top half of the league and is just under a point per game outside the top 10.You sound a lot like Woodson
That, however, is a limited way of looking at things, given that per-game stats do not account for pace, and the Knicks play at the second-slowest pace in the league (they average just 92.72 possessions per game, according to NBA.com).
They played AWFUL defense man.The knicks could not defend a tam that played Chuck Hayes at all 5 positions.
Bargnani, Amare, and Hardaway are some of the worst defensive players in the NBA plus Early is a bad defender and then there's Melo and Calderon. Derek Fisher isn't fixing that

Funny thing is Derek Fisher might have been the worst defender in his playing days of the bunch
ESPN is going to be live with Phil Jackson and the Knicks at training camp. Apparently it'll be an all-day breakdown feature with Chris Broussard.

Blackace credibility when talking about OKC: zero.
I'm willing to debate it further if you're willing to go beyond baseless generalizations.
Debate that shit in a separate thread then. Gtfo.Moot point anyways. Blackace knows it was a ridiculous statement so I doubt he'll be responding.
(Technically it was a Knicks-related debate since he compared Presti to Isiah ;) )
Point taken though.

He made 3 NO brainer picks in row and found Ibaka, but since then he has been less than great. The team is pretty good with super star power but is missing role players and they most likely need a better coach..
but yeah I can't see how I would think the FO is wasting their window..
We aren't tanking. People are fucking stupid for expecting anything else. The team is dead set on making the playoffs at the very least. Everything after that is cherries.
The following year will be our defining year. What's FA looking like for 15-16?

You're welcome, Alpha.
The Knicks should tank. 2015 is your only pick for a long fucking time.Phil Jackson doesn't tank. Also the Knicks can acquire a pick in a trade... or y'know buy one.

We'll acquire a pick somehow. Nobody thought we'd get shit this year, and early accounts say we got one hell of a steal with Early. We have enough young talent to mold and is next year's draft even going to have enough A-tier players in it? Anybody worth risking a tank for and likely not even being able to scoop them up? The probability is too low
